d I started to work together at an age like I was 16 and it was such a prominent age to feel not good about yourself and to have someone like her embrace all the things that when you're 16 you don't like about yourself it gave me a confidence that I I wouldn't have had with another director and you know we're friends to this day so to have that relationship in this industry I'm very lucky I got that education at a very young age that I felt very empowered by working with strong females okay awes
ome oh wow like totally freaked me out I mean right on I mean come on it's like it's classic bring it on classic awesome oh wow like totally freak me out I mean right on we did extensive dance rehearsal which I loved I was a cheerleader in 8th grade that's why I did the movie because I wanted to see this movie in eighth grade I was a bass so I I was not a flyer and so I did fly a little and bring it on which made me a little nervous not going to lie my best friend broke her arm when she was a fl
yer so that was always in the back of my head like please catch me but that movie was really a surprise to all of us the success we were just off in San Diego doing you know having fun I mean I wish it was a producer on it they made so many afterwards like Rihanna was in Wana so yeah they really brought it with that you have a knack for saving my life I think I have a superhero stalker okay this is definitely Mary Jane Watson my son has been watching the OG Spider-Man sometimes he doesn't care t
hat I'm an it you have a neck for saving my life I think I have a superhero sty I did not read the comics I was reading like deia's cataloges probably and babysitter Club books maybe but the way Sam Ry put this film together had a very independent Spirit and the way Sam talked and inhabited the story of Spider-Man was so loving and beautiful and he took such pride and care of it once they hiked me up to the top of Sony's Sound Stage though and I basically bungee jumped because they just stopped
me right at the end and I was like you should have shot that cuz I'm never doing that again next this is actually kind of fun whoa Reviving a [ __ ] up [ __ ] wasn't on the itinerary either cover for me Reviving a [ __ ] up [ __ ] wasn't on the itinerary either for either Reviving a [ __ ] up [ __ ] I said that Reviving a [ __ ] up [ __ ] oh Bachelorette okay I knew I was like when was I this mean in a movie then I remembered Reviving a [ __ ] up [ __ ] wasn't on the itinerary either cover for m
e I just loved working with Lizzy Kaplan I was such a fan of hers and also Isa Fisher it was right after melancolia and I was constantly getting offered more depressed roles and I was just wanted to make a comedy and so Bachelorette I knew I could have some fun and let loose I love doing comedy I love doing dark comedy you know I watch a lot of below deck so I would love to play a stew like a first stew and I love to clean I know that it it relaxes me so just like getting those bed sheets tucked
and like I just love that whole vibe welcome to the annual meeting of people who annually meet and we'll see yall next year okay H is this drop de gorgeous no okay God I'm really bad about I'm bad at this welcome to the annual meeting dick I mean I sound like I have a southern accent in it y'all why am I saying y'all see yall next year oh wow okay that was bad of me yeah don't remember that at all welcome to the annual meeting of people who annually meet and we'll see yall again next year worki
ng with Cameron Crowe was definitely any actor's dream so for me I felt really honored to work with him my mom was an Airlines storis for lansa for 10 years so I felt a kinship to playing in Airline storis oh what happened to you you shav with a piece of glass dang who who am I being mean to now oh jaman yes and you want to know why I know that cuz my son likes watching it he was like I want to watch the movie with baby mommy but yeah I remember say see that snarky little child I was in that F w
hat happened to you you shade with a piece of glass I was working with a legend you know I remember Robin gave me my first remember the Apple computers that were big and colored at first and he gave me my first computer and yeah I remember being in this swampy wet house that they built this whole water trough that we lived in for so long and my mom making a sandwiches and floating them into to us just wet suits and yeah it actually was a lot lot of action making that movie a lot of yelling and r
unning it also was I feel like the first time where I had to pretend a lot that things weren't there which I wasn't totally used to I kept a little piece of the chandelier I remember because we were hanging off of a chandelier for a while next one I was Mortal till you gave me your Immortal kiss you became my mother and my father and so I'm yours forever okay this definitely interview the vampire I can't even get the words out but my 11-year-old self good you became my mother and my father and s
o I'm yours forever I was treated like a little princess on that set i' be my costumes and Brad was like an older brother and Tom they just treated me so lovely and Tom's from New Jersey too and so we had that in common the closest was Maran twnet in terms of scale and beauty and costumes but they just don't make movies like that anymore I had a really great acting coach that just helped me kind of insinuate things without making me feel uncomfortable so I felt very protected like even watching
the premiere my mom would cover my eyes at certain points honestly my most traumatizing part of that film was that I had to like suck someone's blood that was very sweaty and I and I was like oh my God I just had to put my mouth on this person that was just like profusely sweating and then the syrupy blood was pretty gross as well as a kid you're just like you don't need scores of suitors you only need one if he's the right one that's sounds like Amy March and Little Women you don't need scores
of suitors you only need one if he's the right one Little Women was a beloved book of mine I remember auditioning for that I had just come off of an interview with the Vampire and I think I had still that Claudia Vibe I played it a little lighter but I was in Claudia mode Maybe a little bit still I got the part yeah yeah it worked out to go from Tom Cruz and Brad Pit and be this young girl and then work with Susan sandon and Winona Ryder and Claire Danes it was the perfect J to position and I di
dn't even realize at that time I just felt like part of a great girl group that you know I it felt very natural too on that set oh I already know life exists only on Earth and not for long the Melancholia life is only on Earth and not for long I had such a wonderful experience on that film it was like the exact type of acting I like to do Lars was so loving and sensitive about everything and I just felt like this is the acting home that I want to be a part of always like that was the dream scena
rio I adore Lars and we have this same birthday and so did me and Jane Campion which is very weird to work with two directors that were so prolific in your life and you have the same birthday as them it's weird and then Sophia is a tourist too so I only do good movies with touristes I guess it's too good for me I'm just very average I only know Tunes Tunes this is definitely power of the dog I don't know another movie where I say Tunes it's too good for me I'm I'm just very average I I only know
Tunes I had like a very strict piano teacher that was the choir piano teacher at our church when I was younger so I hated learning piano with him hated it so I had to learn for the movie and I had a very cool teacher he works with Julian Casablancas he's his name is Jeff kite and he'd come over and he just helped me learn the pieces and they had to hear the same thing over and over again driving my family nuts but that's what it took my husband and I were nominated together honestly I was more
excited that he got nominated than me I just and then to do that together is who gets that but what's a bond you're tricking me now what's a bond I have H what's a bond anybody else know anybody what's a bond dick no keep I just want to say well dick dick oh my God bonfire the vanities wa you really did throw me off there with that one but what's a bond I was doing little baby commercial modeling when I was 3 years old in New York city so it naturally just progressed like I booked my first comme
rcial I ever went out on and then you know the natural thing in New York City is to go to LA to trap for pilot season and then Interview with the Vampire came along so yeah been doing this for quite some time I just was someone that really like enjoyed it I mean I even see that in one of my sons I'm like wow you if I was you know one of those moms you'd be doing commercials right like he's just like loves to perform so it's definitely in the blood I would say do it after high you know what I mea
n like do school plays and you know I'm not trying to raise another child [Music] actor
