Housebreaking,
housebreaking, housebreaking. There are four basic steps to
housebreaking a dog properly. Confine or watch no in between. It's really important to understand
that dogs will rarely eliminate where they stay or hang out. So confinement is the best way. Some people recommend cages or crates. I'm not a big fan of that. I'd rather you gate off a small
area and increase it gradually. A good, healthy diet and feeding
schedule and walking schedule should be established and the whole famil
y should
need or will need to be consistent. First thing in the morning the dog
should be taken out, after napping, after exercise, about 20 minutes after
eating, just before sleep, or any time your puppy or dog has been excited. And if your dog does have the
occasional accident, most people run to the cupboard and they clean up with
some, ammoniated product or vinegar. Vinegar is absolutely great for salads,
but not good for getting rid of the smell from your dog's point of view. There are prod
ucts on the market
that you can use that will eliminate the odor and get rid of the stain. That's what you need. I'm Warren Eckstein.
