let's do a rough draft here are the rules for the draft brought to you by your Tri-State Cadillac dealers it will be snake format each panelist will take three Hitters from the current rosters of both the Mets and the Yankees each team must have at least one outfielder and one infielder that includes catchers all right Laura you're on the clock I love going first on this one I'm going to go with Juan stto I know everybody's going to say Aaron judge but I like Wan sto uh the Zip's Pro projections
actually have his War as higher than Aaron judge he's got that power he's got that youth he'll hopefully stay healthy because of said youth so I'm going to take a number one okay I love going I love going second in this draft to be quite honest because I was going to take whichever Yankee Laura didn't so give me Aaron judge uh I'm hoping for a little more sustained Health from him this year obviously because I think if he does we're going to chase 60 again in some fashion and that means good th
ings for my little rough draft lineup now will you got the next two picks here that's the advantage of going third yeah that was buil on my mind the entire evening so far I knew for sure right it was pretty predictable they'd go one two judge sooo judge whichever way right great I'm happy with third because I get to go with two position players here and two of them are two great infielders in Francisco Lindor and pet Lonzo and now what happens is there's a little bit lack of depth of the infield
options when it comes to the decision players for both the Yankees and the Mets I'll I'll grab the two best ones there you go so far kind of chalky where you would figure judge Soo Lindor and Alonzo going the first four and you're backup um exactly well you're abely you're 100% right remember like will now has to take an outfielder his next pck you have to have at least one outfielder and one infielder right on uh I am going to take uh Brandon nmo uh I like the on base uh chops here and uh he's
got his power is developing a little later uh I think he can get even higher on the Home Run list than he did last year sou so I think I've got a nice little offense percolating here George Eno all right Laura you have two picks now to round out your roster you want to know what I think I'm going to go Francisco Alvarez um you know he he I do need an infielder and as a catcher he is in the infielder kind of area I think he's going to have a fantastic year we saw that he could hit for power we s
aw the fact that you know he's going to have a little bit more maturity he knows what major lead pitchers are going to throw with him he's coming into spring training with a lot of confidence and if he is hitting behind Pete Alonzo I think that could be a really potent onew punch I like that all right now you need well either one you could go cuz you have an outfielder with stto you have an infielder with Alvarez what's your final pick I am going to go Jeff McNeal okay I love I love my slap hitt
ers I love I love my guys who get on base I love I love my on base percentage and all that stuff I think that he can have a sort of bounceback year uh you know we we saw it wasn't like he was bad last year uh he just wasn't an NL batting champion I think he can go back to that let the record show and I know you're paying attention at home first two players take we Yankees everybody else has been a met after that a you're up that streak stops here oh don't ruin the F yeah right um okay I I have t
o pick an infielder right I've got two outfielders already so here comes my one infielder and this may be a little bit off the beaten path but I think it might be the best choice Anthony vulpi I'm going to put my rough draft draft where my mouth has been because s I've been predicting that this guy is going to make a leap this year year two of his major league career I think that if he gets a little bit more on base we're going to see his stolen bases Skyrocket so maybe he's a 40 steel guy we kn
ow he has 20 plus Homer power that's a nice player for me and I'll take him with my last pick all right will so what do you got here you could go either way infield or outfield oh no excuse me you have to go I got to go Outfield I got to go Outfield and this was part of my plan where I was like okay I hope it I I hope it doesn't go this way and it went this way of course right so all right whatever Laura almost talked me into Starling Marte having having a big season almost almost good value the
re the it was good it was good wasn't enough for me I'm going with the biggest impact I'm going with Dominguez from the Yankees taking I'm going with the high upside to pair with alongside Francisco Lindor pet Alonzo two guys who play every single day I know the injury with Dominguez okay whatever I love the upside I'm pairing that with guys who play every single day produced at All-Star MVP type levels you know it's interesting no John Carlos Stanton no Starling Marte I guess would be the two n
otables that will have Rizzo Rizzo was not Tak either laor yeah be come on I'm just kidding all right there you go let's see I'll be the judge here uh I actually like Laura's team the best the top two guys there trying to think well-rounded team I can't go Dominguez yet too risky for me will I still think I'm going Laura because I love stto and Alvarez combination I would prefer vulpi there Laura me if I had your pick I would have went vulpi instead of McNeil but I think Laura is the winner of t
his you know it does show you too the Mets may not have the the top star power that the Yankees have but they do have some dep with Alvarez if he can be an impactful piece L Lindor Alonzo nmo even maybe throwing stolling Marte maybe the Metson up isn't that bad after all
