(honking) (chimes jingling) (gentle music) - [Narrator] Our story begins in a far away land, known as Lythnea. A land filled with enchanted forests and creatures. A brotherhood of mystics protects the different realms of Lythnea, but an evil is brewing. So the brotherhood led by Aaron must maintain peace with Father Jacob and halt the impeding forces of darkness. (ominous music) - Gentlemen. Do I have your support? - This is a drastic move. - These are drastic times. - [Clybold] Jacob, then do n
ot oppose us and we'll get to prove their worthlessness. - It's true! We don't know what use God might have for them. They are very powerful. - Powerful are they? Perhaps, but their power comes not from God. Power such as theirs can only come from below. This signifies that God has granted us the strength to put an end to the falseness of the heathen faiths. To fail in this mission would be to fail in the eyes of God. So, I ask you again, do I have your support? - Aye! - [Both] Aye. (trumpets so
unding) - Gentlemen! (gentle music) Our guests! Aaron and... - [Quenya] Quenya. - Forgive me, I have such difficulty with your exotic names. - Of course. - Let me begin by saying that we do not wish any harm to come to anyone of any faith. We are glad to be here in this place, in peace. To be quite forward, we are concerned with the welfare of our followers. - What Jacob is trying to say is that we... - We are worried that our message of peace will fall upon unwilling ears if their minds are tai
nted with evil lies about our faith. - Lies? You accuse us of spreading lies? - Please! Clybold, Thinnis, I'll do the talking! We're simply worried that the invisible boundary that separates our vastly different faiths is not being respected. - How can you accuse us of breaking boundaries when you and your kind enter our forests and kill our beautiful creatures for sport? You leave the land ravaged and desolate in your path, your hearts are blind and your minds are filled with destruction. - The
land and beast are provided to shelter and feed the children of God. - Foul demon! You speak of God but you have no conception of the truth. - Aaron, control your woman, I will not be attacked by this intemperate witch! - Aaron has already exercised far too much restraint in his dealings with you, that is why I am here. - Quenya, please! - You burn our forests! - This is beyond reproach. So and so, and such and such, one thing then the other. You are the heathens! You curse us, we who have come
here in good faith. - You haven't heard a curse yet. - Quenya! We understand what you're saying Father Jacob... - [Quenya] He's not your father! - Enough! We want the same things you do, to honor our faith and to keep the will of the gods in harmony with our own. You have our word that we will have nothing to do with the disparaging of another faith. As I see we both have real grievances, we must meet again soon to address them. However, Quenya and I must depart, for tonight we have a ceremony
of great importance. (ominous music) (leaves rustling) (birds crowing) - Put your arrows away, it will not hit me. Now deliver your message. - My message? - Were you not sent with a message? - I will not tell you! - Yes you will. Father Jacob is sick. (ominous music) There will be an attack. - There are many more of us, there's an army coming at the town edge. (gentle music) - Very well. Take this offer to Jacob for me. Tell him that in this book lies the power to all my magic, which can be used
by no other. - Eh? (dramatic music) (brook babbling) - In good time, Quenya. All things are subject to the laws and boundaries. - No, I fear there is no time. There are dangers to us, they have already choked out the lesser creatures, and we are next, I've seen it. - The pendulum will swing the other way. - We must fight! - We must not. (dramatic music) (thumps) (staff whirring) (thuds) (thuds) (staff whirring) We must report this to the Brotherhood. Fools! (gentle music) (chimes ringing) May p
eace and light guide our way. - [Group] Peace and light in our thoughts and our hearts. - As you all know, the prophecy states that we must leave this world and go to the East. (sneezing) Beyond the world and darkness, until we finally come into the light. Perhaps, that time is approaching. (gentle music) (speaking foreign language) - I believe I speak for us all when I say the only issue today is the meeting with the Christians. Tell us what happened! - We were unable to discuss specifics today
and in fact, we have sparse time for this discussion. The sun sets swiftly and we must prepare, for our holiest day is rapidly approaching. I suggest we reconvene... - There is no other time. - I suggest that we reconvene at a more appropriate time. - No! There is no other time. - [Group] Peace and light in our hearts and our thoughts. - It's in our thoughts first. - Yeah okay. - Peace and lights. (goat bleating) (goat bleating) - [Quenya] Time for the ceremony. (gong resounding) (laughing) (om

Who even now toiled to bring light and life to the earth. (dramatic music) (magical booming) (thuds) (thumps) (magical chiming) (laughing) (leaves rustling) - She's a witch, silence her and she can do no harm against us. (leaves rustling) (muffled whimpering) Burn the witch! - Help me, help me! (whimpers) (dramatic music
) (panting) (screaming) - And now my child, kneel before God and witness the strength of his will. - If they can't even defend themselves... (thuds) What are you doing? (wind swirling) (speaking in foreign language) - And now my colleague, kneel before God and witness the strength of his will. (speaking in foreign language) (electric buzzing) (speaking in foreign language) (wind swirling) (screaming) (yelling) (electrical buzzing) - [Narrator] Father Jacob's incantation had summoned a great evil
that destroyed Lythnea and all of it's inhabitants. The brotherhood was cursed, transformed into physical representations of the realms they had watched over. An ancient prophecy stated that the curse could only be lifted once a Fair Glyph was discovered and a chosen warrior found. The spell had one more cruel turn for the brotherhood, as they were thrust into modern day San Francisco. (upbeat music) - Want a date? Hey! Hey! By the way, I'll be there Sunday. - I guess I'll just have to make do. (squeaks) - [Jacob] Johanna! Johanna! Johanna! (upbeat music) - Forgive me my brothers of the light, for we are in grave danger and we must commence with haste. - Bolger is dead! - Dillis tell us what has happened? - We were in the forest, on the hunt for the Fair Gl
yph. - But the Fair Glyph has been found! - Quiet! Go on. - Bolger had been feeling it's draw for some time now and he asked me to go with him. When we arrived at the site we attempted the spell of permanence. - Why was the order not privy to this? - There was no time. - There is always time. - I knew nothing, I merely followed our brother in support. We had no idea that after so long it could be real. We attempted the spell of permanence and a light began to seep from the stone. The light that
followed was a black mist, which moved of it's own free will. It took the face, it was the face of Jacob. - What the fuck is going on? Sorry. - In the midst of the spell, it began to attack him. We ran from him when we could and split up. It caught Bolger when he could no longer run and completely engulfed him. And when the mist withdrew he was stone in the moonlight. - Stoned by night? - The rays of Lythnea! - The passing of one of the brethren is a strong portent. - Enough of this! We will lea
ve our conjecture til all has been confirmed. Mordoc and I will search the glade where the Fair Glyph was found for some hopeful sign of Bolger. - Johanna? Johanna? (ominous music) How you doing? - I'm all right. I don't know. - What happened out there? - I don't know, I think maybe I was seeing things. - What did you see? - Monsters (ominous music) They were just standing there staring at you. - There there, child. They're gone now. Maybe you're my angel of protection. - Daddy I'm going crazy.
- No, you're not going crazy. I myself think I see shadows moving around the church. It's only the flickering of the candles. Our minds play tricks on us. - But what if they come back? What if they never leave? - Oh shh, such talk! - But what if it's true? - Then God and I will stand by you with all the powers of the heavens. You're never alone. (dramatic music) (sniffing) (kisses) (dial rotating) (phone ringing) - Hello? - Bishop Sebastian, this is Dominic Saveo. - Oh yes Dominic, so nice to he

She was screaming about seeing creatures, there's no doubt in my mind that she saw something. - We will be in touch. In the meantime, you act as the shepherd who looks over his flock. That'll be all. (receiver clunks) (receiver clunks) - Johanna? Are you going out? - Yeah, I'm just going out for a walk. - Well don't you think we should talk about what happened last night? - No. I'm oka

Thought you could use a break. - You're sweet. - Do you wanna take a walk or something? - I can't, I gotta work on this. - Can I help? - No, I'll call you tomorrow. (kissing) Goodnight! - Goodnight. We have brought you hear out of harm's reach. - Just leave me alone, I don't need your help, I just wanna go home. - You are the chosen one. - Well choose someone else! - Johanna, stop playing games! We can help you to understand what you've only begun to imagine. - What do you mean? What is this place? - It's a sanctuary. It's a place of worship, a place of rest. For you, it will be a place of learning. (gentle music) These creatures you see, they're called the Dragon Kin. It's been told from ti

One that would lead them out of the darkness and into the light. - And I'm supposed to believe... - We already know you have the sight, Johanna. The question is do you have the strength?
