is here that means it's time for some Easter experiments look who's back with us we've got Mr science here to show us some fun experiments we're going to do a little spring we're going to do a little Easter we've got all of it here parrot here so it's good to have you back glad to be back how have you ladies been we've been good how about you caught anything on fire since I've been gone we do not try that without you Mr science is here this is the last time okay good good you're not going to scr
eam about these experiments well no guarantee on that one I am a screamer we didn't prep you in case there were loud noises all right I need to remind kids don't need to drink your science experiment have an adult around wear the appropriate safety gear we've got our safety goggles so uh what experiments are we doing today it's boiling in this cauldron oh wait but it's eastern on Halloween but we have a pan here that's got hot water on the inside over here I have something called dry ice it's su
per cold so cold it's vibrating on the stove top there just don't put your thing on there too long okay it'll frost bite it it's frozen carbon dioxide gas and it is sublimating right now it's going from a solid to a gas and dancing around on the stovetop here now I'm not going to hold it for too long but what we're going to do is take this dump it in here and create a cloud that will launch into the air I'm going to turn this off to make it oh I'm excited your water is warm yeah boiling now this
is super cold right now falling everywhere going everywhere I feel like we're magicians you know what I mean we should be like appearing out of a some kind of mattress this is so cool look at that wow and what's happening is we just sped up the process of sublimation and going from a solid two again we could make it really spooky like it was Halloween so what causes this Mr science uh basically the warm water makes it quickly go from a solid to a gas and notice how it's sinking to the ground be
cause dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide gas it's heavier than the air around it therefore it's going right to the ground okay kids can't do that one home but they can do this one I have an old soda bottle with unicorn Drool on the inside okay maybe how did you get that corn drool no unicorn drools kind of hard to find but every once in a while if you're nice they'll come up to you it's actually rubbing alcohol that's when they can do I didn't put a lot in there but there's some now I'm going to t
ake this bicycle pump and you can create a cloud inside of a bottle and not have to worry about hurting your fingers with the dry ice okay so here's what I want you to do which one of you is stronger which one of you has the bigger muscles I don't know what do you think okay I'll volunteer for this one okay so you come over here for me Susan works out at the gym right here okay you're gonna hold the bottle oh okay and she's going to pump this 3485 times oh my God all the way up keep going we're
filling the bottle up full of air filling the bottle up full of air creating a high pressure on the inside that high pressure on the inside okay Susan you can stop three two sorry [Laughter] and watch what happens when high pressure takes over oh my gosh Sunshine appears so high pressure Sunshine low pressure is red it means rain snow tornadoes hurricanes keep pumping inside okay a lot in there there we go keep going keep going and three two one and there's the cloud okay pop again watch watch t
he cloud go away Sunshine like today low pressure means rain snow clouds tornadoes keep going keep going keep going keep going you've got your exercise and there it is what you can do at home we have time for the carrot yes in the air at your house because you have Taylor two three four five six seven what ten how many kids do you have two two okay so this is what you want to do at home okay and I have a decoration it's a carrot I chop the end off and on the inside I pushed a film canister put f
ilm in go to the film developer right and when we would go to the film developer uh we would have to wait two weeks right yes so warm water on the inside that's just about to explode over there nothing big then I have some Alka-Seltzer I'm going to drop my Alka-Seltzer in and I got to strategically put this on here just right hold on it's going to explode there we go oh no well we've got time to redo this certainly pour more water on the inside my reaction took place too fast but we don't want i
t to take place too slow I'm gonna push the top on again and then wow we're just having problems online so that's all right but that's the thing about science sometimes you just have to try it a couple times try it a couple of times there we go now put it in there just like that we're letting the air pressure build up on the inside so much so we're going to launch the top here in just a few seconds so here's what's [Laughter] so after a little bit of effort thanks for your patience we were able
to create a chemical reaction on the inside the built up a gas and launch the carrot to the air so fun and that was just a an Easter decoration yeah I'm always looking for things like that to kind of get kids excited about science because most kids I don't say most but a big chunk of kids don't like science right because they've been told it out of a textbook so we want to sneak it in using things like this well Mr science we've only done a few here today I was looking at your page you've got lo
