a verb is an action word a verb is something we do like running crying laughing anything we do is probably a verb sometimes we do things that people can't see like thinking feeling dreaming hoping wishing these are also verbs even though we can't see them happening but verbs are not only action words some verbs are being words like the verb to be so when we say I am we are using the verb to be I am from the United States she is happy there are other verbs that are not action words either like lo
ok sound smell or taste that dog looks dirty that bird sounds loud the cake tastes delicious your socks smell bad these verbs are not action words they are more like being words
