Experience cars with Google built-in

Cars with Google built-in always have a copilot along for the ride โ€” so every drive is more connected, helpful, and personalized. Google Assistant, Google Maps, and more apps on Google Play are already in your car โ€” just get in and go. Talk to Google Assistant to turn up the heat, find your next destination, make phone calls, and control your compatible smart home devices. While parked, you can stay entertained with videos, browsing and games. @fedfer

This could either be great or the worst nightmare ever... Can't wait for cars to drop functionalities after 5 years from release

@levi2408

Seems like a super smooth software experience, but having the climate and other controls as digital buttons on the screen instead of physical dials and buttons sucks. I would love to see a hybrid approach with Google software interacting with built-in but interacting with physical hardware controls.

@littlebit670

I just hope that car makers don't turn these screens into a huge problem (*cough* Chevy Blazer EV *cough*) At least Android Automotive worked well for Volvo/Polestar.

@BryantMitchell

Buttons and knobs are still more reliable that touchscreens, sorry. Plus, theyโ€™re safer when you need to keep your eyes on the road

@arturog.2211

This is awesome. Thanks Google.

@CaffeinatedHiFi

Are there any car manufacturers that are planning to use this? I'm sure you can't name drop but I'm curious since some manufacturers are flat out not supporting Android Auto or Apple Car Play.

@erenoden

Please bring the option to watch videos while charging my car to Android Auto.

@tauheedulali2652

Unless there is exceptional voice control, a non physical button less interface would be distracting while driving. An entirely touch screen UI does look better, but you don't want to be messing with that while trying to focus on the road. If the steering wheel has buttons to manage it, that keeps it less distracting.

@thisfeatureisbad

Call it a Chromecar. Like Chromebok, but a car.

@ericktrevino

Would love to see the new software on a more traditional car screen. The example used in the video looks like a blown up smartphone

@randomtechforyou

Having amazon prime on your car ๐Ÿ’€

@Cart1416

no way android auto built in, google will probably change the name of it

@NealJackson1980

I'm on a Pixel 6a in the UK but don't have the 'send to car option' in Maps (have just updated all my apps)...any idea when this will land in the UK as it would be super useful to send directions to my Volvo?

@ArahanLegendYT

Is this coming in India after some years?

@domodiak

At least this has a dash, but physical buttons are better

@FischToaster00

Please also for Android Auto!

@homeboy510

Please work with motorcycle companies!

@gachaytb3

oh no my car is turning into a smartphone

@Schwifter

Amazing

@HighIQCayden

this has potential, but instead of using your phones power for android auto, now you have to use the infotainments processing power, hopefully this wont suck.
