A 32 mile Mountain Biking adventure in the county of Fife in Scotland. This is a very diverse cross-country mountain biking loop, featuring forest trails, single track MTB and beach riding. The trail starts in St Andrews on the east coast of Scotland. We begin at the famous St Andrews links golf course where we could not resist posing for a few pictures at the Swilcan Bridge. This little Stonebridge is 700 years old and famous throughout the world. Before the golf course existed, the bridge was originally built to herd sheep over the Swilcan burn. It is customary for winners of the golf tournament, at this famous old golf course, to stand on this bridge and wave at the crowds as they walk down the final hole.
After enjoying some wonderful beach riding, on The West Sands at St Andrews, we continued on our mountain bikes to Tentsmuir forest where we explored the vast array of forest trails and single track. The beach riding on offer at Tentsmuir beach, alongside The North Sea, really is spectacular and, at times, felt like it was never ending.
