Good morning from Queenstown after our
epic hiking yesterday in cradle mountains we reached Queenstown and checked into
this beautiful motel called Silver Hills it's just 12 degrees here and the
weather is very very cloudy today but it makes this place even more beautiful
as you can see behind me on that mountain Queenstown is the largest town in western Tasmania
and surrounded by dramatic hills and mountains this place was once a thriving mining area but
the mining did cause an environmen
tal damage but mother nature is soon healing this and making this place beautiful. So our initial plan was just to do a pit stop in this town but now we want to explore this town and then head towards Hobart In such a small town it's very surprising to
find an electric charging station very nice so this is the west coast wilderness railway
and it is a 35 kilometer long railway line the original three out of the five coaches are currently used the fourth one was destroyed
and the fifth one is
in the museum at hobart you can explore the inaccessible locations in and around Queenstown we did not have time to explore this magical train ride but it's definitely on our list to check out next time we are at tracks cafe and enjoying our morning breakfast this museum was once a hotel for 20 years then becoming a hospital and accommodation for
mining men finally in 1970 this became the galley museum We are at Spion Kopf lookout this place
provides a spectacular view of the entire city you'l
l also find some mining exhibits along the way Queenstown football field is very unique as
you can see it's a gravel field not a grass field it is considered to be one of the
dangerous and feared fields in Australia Just behind me is the Iron Blow Lookout. It was one of the earliest ventures in 1883 and has an
open mine with amazing views around This is the way towards horsetail
fall it's just a 30 minutes walk on the edge of the mountain but this is seasonal
waterfall and is at its best af
ter heavy rainfall In Tassie always fill your tank in city as
there are very less gas stations on highway On our way to Hobart we stopped at St. Clair lake Here is the final destination of the overland track. The overland track which starts at cradle mountain which is around 65 kilometres and it
takes six days reaches here at St. Clair lake this lake is the deepest
freshwater lake in Australia and it was formed from the melting of the glaciers We are at Russell falls. it's one of
the most po
pular and most photographed waterfalls in Tasmania you can hear the sound
of water behind me so refreshing and so green well that's the end of today's journey and this
episode now we are going to check into our hotel in Hobart keep watching as we explore
Hobart in our next episode bye for now

Great video, thank you for doing this. Cheers
My gosh I feel like to cry😭. Queenstown hasn't changed it is still as it is.... it's so nostalgic i fucking miss it. I spent my childhood for years there as my father worked in Copper mines of Tasmania under Vedanta company... I miss Queenstown. It has a special place in my heart... Hardly anywhere in the world will you find such gems. My house is in 8:56 min where you see the footy ground, there is a blue hall/house type thing and just ahead of it where you see a Y junction on the right side of you keep going and the second house was ours! On the left side just behind the blue building used to live the colony of miners
Russell Fall and it's surroundings are so soothing and refreshing 😌.
