hey there welcome to Mama Bella's home and
today we have some serious grocery shopping to get to I'm going to be sharing with you
my grocery haul my meal plan and some meal prep if you're new around here hi my name
is Cassidy I am a homeschooling homemaking Mama to seven kiddos and that means I have
a nine hungry people to feed in this house and that is quite the grocery haul let me
tell you if you're excited to see what that looks like go ahead and hit the thumbs up
okay so first things first l
et's go ahead and show you what I got on my grocery list
and my meal plan I'll just go ahead and pop up a video up here so you guys can see it
a little easier I do have things separated in categories to make it easier when I'm shopping
I just like to keep it as organized as possible and then here are my dinners breakfast and
lunches again I just separate them like this to keep it a little easier dinners I figure
out first because I feel like it's the hardest thing to do but there it is if you gu
ys are
interested in checking out any of these recipes or trying them out yourself let me know down
in the comments and I will respond back to you as soon as I can okay so now that we have
done our introduction I've showed you what I'm shopping for and what meals we're going
to be making we need to head to the store I think that I'm going to be heading over
to Walmart because that is just the easiest place for me to go get everything that I need
because I need some household stuff too that I kno
w that they have and yeah so let's go
ahead and get shopping foreign because this is going to be a solo shopping
trip I'm going to go ahead and pop in my air pods so that I can hear better in this van
it's really hard sometimes to hear things that are playing on my phone and I don't have
like the Bluetooth setup so airpods it is so that I can listen to my podcasts or audible
or whatever and now we're gonna head to Walmart [Music] because I have some non-food items
I like to always start there fi
rst when doing shopping trip so I'm just getting my like
cleaning supplies and things like that that I need before I head over to the food eyes
[Music] I get so much like on my podcasts or audible books read by something one of the things I like to do is always check
the clearance because you never know what you're going to find or the deals that you
can find in some budget-friendly options foreign shopping I like to start left to right I don't
know why that is but of course it's like cold and t
hen it goes into the dry goods and then
it goes into produce so it's not really the best option but I haven't figured out a way
I really like to walk through this store yet so we're just going to start over here with
the milk and creamer and then work our way over through the aisles my [Music] friends [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] get this [Music] thank you [Music] okay I was just thinking about this I'm all
loaded up obviously driving away now and I always feel like I did a mini wor
kout after
grocery shopping because you know obviously groceries for a family of nine could be quite
a bit um even if I'm being minimal and like strategic it's still a lot and it's to the
point now where even just for like a week of groceries my basket's completely full and
it's just like a thing so it's done I'm tired um but I was just thinking about you know
really close to like dinner needs to be done the last thing I want to do right now is cook
I need to plan better and I always do this and
I don't uh it's so obnoxious when you
sit there and you spend like hundreds of dollars on groceries and then you go and get food
to have for dinner too but it is what it is I don't have anything in the freezer I don't
think that I could just do really quickly so I think the best bet is just go pick something
up and let everybody eat do the grocery haul meal prep that kind of stuff and then let
that be done and we're just gonna call it yeah yeah okay here it is that grocery haul
for a family of
night as you can see we have a guest who's gonna talk to us about our grocery
haul also yeah oh my gosh are you gonna help mommy okay so here is everything all laid
out produce bread canned goods your non-food items and then all of the freezer fridge cult
stuff because I like to move left to right we're gonna start over here at the produce
and then work our way over so we have some Celery Stock some Rosemary and then some cucumbers
that I'm going to shred up or not shred but um peel and slice up
with lemon juice it's
super good for snacks baby carrots coleslaw mix for a fish stick for the fish stick tacos
and then a couple Tomatoes also some strawberries blueberries baby carrots I don't know if I
said that some green grapes bananas a few that are ready to go now and then a few for
later because I know my toddler's gonna want to eat them and then I got one bunch of radishes
for the fish tacos also and then some parsley limes lemons peaches cutie oranges because
everybody needs cutie ora
nges and then a box of Chip variety and then fig newtons that
I'll be breaking down into smaller like snack bags for easy to go snacking some corn tortillas
flour tortillas corn tortillas for for the fish stick tacos flour tortillas are going
to be for the breakfast crunchwraps and then also the sheet pan quesadillas some bread
for sandwiches and toast and whatever else some Scooby-Doo crackers or graham crackers
that I'm gonna also do the same thing as the Fig Newton cookies and break those dow
n for
easy snacking and then some Motts and then you can't really see it but here we go some
Mott's gummies these fruit and cream oatmeal packets were on sale like they were like a
dollar fifty off the normal price so I grabbed two I got some egg noodles for the sour cream
noodle bake and the pasta sauce for that and then we have the Prego um what am I Alfredo
there we go uh like sauce that I'm gonna use with the ham pasta and then the tomato sauce
for the noodle bake and then some black beans f
or the quesadilla and then cranberry sauce
um the jellied kind for the turkey Roll-Ups and then this is that seasoning that I was
telling you guys that was super good um in our ground beef burger mix some Capers for
the pasta chicken and pasta and then I picked up a thing of sprinkles because we're going
to be hosting a ice cream social um and then some real bacon pieces bacon bits
whatever you want to call it I got some more cereal and then for the non-food items the
detangler was on sale and t
he clearance item all right sorry aisle sorry so I grabbed both
of those and then um some LED light bulbs for my son's room because they went out bowls
for the ice cream social that I was talking about and spoons for that and then um Malachi
my youngest he's gonna be training one here in a month or so and so I got this because
it was on sale it was super cute and I figured I can use that for his birthday and then I
needed and a replacement for my mop head and I just went ahead and grabbed two be
cause
it looks like they're not gonna be carrying these ones in there anymore it was the new
one um this one here the the rinse clean two tank system um and so I went ahead and grabbed
the two that were left because I don't know how hard or easy it's gonna be to get those
in the future and then a friend of mine suggested this game scented mopping um or just like
Surface Cleaner that I plan on using for mopping she said it smelled really good so I'm excited
to try that and then this is the laundr
y stain fighter booster thing that I use it's only
2.50 for each one of these and I'm going to be putting it in here so it's like cute and
extra accessible and then I have these for or I have this for the little scent beads
and then I have um and then I also have like a liquid um drink dispenser glass one that
I don't really use that I'm gonna put my laundry detergent in so it's kind of cute and easier
to use and so that's gonna be like my new laundry setup then I'll probably I don't know
if I'l
l show in this video or the next one but that's what's going on with the glass
jars okay and then after those we have some string cheese I got this breakfast bowl for
my husband in the morning because I'm probably not going to get to his breakfast meal prep
and then I don't know if you guys have seen like a water talk all of these water drinks
and stuff but I totally jumped on the bag wagon these things are delicious they are
sugar zero sugar um but they are not like the best ingredients they do
have I'm pretty
sure aspartame in them um I'm looking on this one I am not seeing it but that doesn't mean
it's not in there um this one has it the crush didn't and I'm I'm assuming this blue raspberry
does as well yeah so they're not like the cleanest ingredients but they do taste delicious
and let me tell you I have been drinking my water um and I've ditched soda so that's exciting
and then these fruit cups some granola bars the variety because um two toddlers And you
know three other kiddos
at home all day we eat a lot of snacks and then I thought I would
try these little Mickey Mouse um goldfish especially because I got two toddlers that
are really into Mickey Mouse right now so I thought that was cute to try some nuggies
for mac and cheese and nuggies um broccoli steamed broccoli um hash browns breakfast
sausage for those breakfast bowls and then some diced ham for that ham pasta bacon and
pepperoni I got two things of these chicken thighs some cream cheese and I got the crescent
rolls for breakfast roll ups that I'm going to be making for the kiddos cottage cheese
for that noodle bake that I make some Greek gods strawberry with honey this is some of
the most delicious yogurt I've ever had it tastes so good the kids love it we do yogurt
parfaits at that and then I got this whipped cream cheese for the turkey Roll-Ups that
I'm gonna use some spinach with the turkey The Cranberries that I showed you earlier
and then some turkey the deli turkey that I'll show you in just a
sec sour cream again
for that sour cream noodle bake and just have on hand we have a lot of Mexican food quesadillas
and stuff like that and then some coffee creamer because I was running out two things of milk
which is down from what my normal one because our extra fridge is the extra refrigerator
is broken right now and so I can't really grab extra on hand right now and then some
dry salami for our snack lunch that we're gonna be doing and then here's the turkey
for those turkey Roll-Ups and
we'll also put that on our snack lunch board and then some
simply gogurts my toddlers insist on having these and it makes it a lot easier and then
tater tots for some breakfast tater tot like cups the fish sticks for fish tacos and then
I grabbed a box of what baby wipes because I was running low and right now this is the
most affordable uh favorite that I can find and so that's what we have so there is our
grocery haul now let's go ahead and get into the cleaning of these the produce and stuff
and just the meal prep so first things first we gotta rinse these fruits a little vinegar
yeah okay so we're gonna go ahead and plop in these strawberries come on [Applause] tomato ES out great boobs [Music] peaches doing this one-handed it's not easy wow there we go got most of them out one Oh No
Blueberry there okay and then I'm gonna put the radishes to
the side because those are really dirty and I don't want to um and then I'm gonna be peeling
the cucumber so I'm not gonna rinse those so I'm
just gonna have to sit for a little
minute a few minutes I'm gonna let this sit for a few minutes while I prep the cucumbers
and then just leave that [Music] [Music] [Music] now that I have these cucumbers all peeled
up that's my preference if you don't want to peel your cucumbers you do not have to
I just go ahead and slice it up and I'm gonna squeeze the juice of one large lemon and wait
till you guys see the size of this lemon is ginormous um I just use the one but you might
want to do two f
or how depending on how many cucumbers you have I have three here and this
is a nice refreshing snack I think for the warmer months to cold cucumbers with fresh
lemon if you guys have a favorite go-to refreshing snack let me know down in the comments I'm
gonna go ahead and tear up [Applause] the string cheeses to make it easier for little
people to get them you don't have to do this obviously do what
works for your family but I just like to tear these up apart make it nice and easy for the
littl
e ones to get it [Music] so whale I like to make the most of my time is to kind of
do things simultaneously so these berries and grapes and peaches and everything have
been sitting in this vinegar water for about 10 minutes or so while I was doing other things
and now I'm going to go ahead and pull them out put them on the paper towel to dry while
I finish up the other stuff that I was working on foreign [Music] to make lunches or meal prep easier is to
go ahead and cook up your meat ahead of ti
me I'm going to go ahead and get all these chicken
thighs laid out I'm going to make them flat so that way they cook evenly and take less
time to cook season them with some flavored olive oil or infused olive oil and then some
Danos like all-purpose seasoning and then I'm just going to go ahead and bake these
in the oven having the chicken all ready to go will make lunches easier you can just have
a grab and go or if maybe you're running a little bit late for dinner you can just warm
these guys
up with some like rice and veggies super simple easy ways to kind of like make
your time count when meal prepping good [Music] because I got the chicken in the oven I have
some time now to finish up the produce I'm gonna go ahead and just make sure everything
is dry and there's no moisture left on anything so that way it lasts a little bit longer the
peaches are just going to go in this bowl probably on the counter and then I will dry
off like the tomatoes which will probably go in the same bowl
with the peaches and then
um strawberries in their own separate container blueberries in their own separate container
and then I'm going to go ahead and cut up the grapes into smaller portions that are
easy to just divvy out or grab a little bit at a time especially for those little toddler
hands um it just makes it a lot easier and I find that they don't eat as much all at
once versus if I just leave it that way they'll just like take one huge bunch of grapes and
literally eat it by themselves
[Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] cheese right here and then these berries are
here and then I'm gonna put the grapes in this drawer actually there we go okay to make this a little bit simpler I'm
going to go ahead and put it in here now so I don't have to do it later down there in
the dark okay I don't know how much it's gonna hold one or two you're done with this right
oh yeah yeah um okay so I think only One's Gonna fit when
they're with a scoop so I'll just take th
e other one down stairs with me and put it away
in storage okay okay so I had to switch loads but anyways I'm just gonna show you guys really
quick I have this shelf right here it's like an old um cabinet that is not ours and so
I'm gonna put all of this cutely over there um but I wanted to explain that before I just
started going to what I'm doing just putting stuff away still [Music] this in there because
that's extra [Music] and all right let's show you soap soap put like an order maybe that
would work I just don't want to have it in these ugly containers anymore you guys like
me do you like to put your stuff in different containers or do you just leave it in the
containers that they came in [Music] perfect um I think I'm gonna keep that in there though
that'll help me [Music] have the right scoop I'm out see so much cuter okay now I do not
know this is like old and it's much too small I don't know where the piece is for this but
that's okay I don't know if this is gonna all fit in
there but we're gonna try it we're
gonna try it I like these ones better like this um because
then you know it's open or closed okay it's not gonna all fit but it is in there
now I just need to find the piece that holds that there right that's way cuter way cuter and now it's not gonna be on here
I can even put this there although that's not in order anymore but is that cute what
do you think what do you think cute no cute let me know I kind of want something different
than maybe like one that's
on the stand so I can get to it easier with the big ones I
don't know we'll see we're gonna test this out okay one of my favorite things about my
kitchen is this huge pan I'm not even joking it's literally one of my favorites um rub
a little olive oil in the pan I'm cooking up 10 pounds 10 pounds of ground beef right
now um because one makes dinner really easy and two it comes in this huge meat log is
what I call it my or my daughter anyways here's meat look I can fit all of this in my one
pan
I click it all up at once drain it and then break it up as I need for meals or if
I feel like having like you know something different from the kids and I can just like
throw this into like a taco salad or some nachos or whatever I'm feeling you know what
I'm saying so that's what I'm gonna do basically I had to um I had to postpone the rest of
the video which is why I'm you know wearing different clothes and everything like that
because my daughter my three-year-old toddler ended up breaking he
r leg and so like almost
an entire week has gone by since I did the other video you know I think it has has been
a week and um so I'm just getting to some of this because it's been survival kind of
over here she's been of course only wanting mama and I'm happy to have lied but that means that everything has been been
my handy dandy Little Star and breaks it all up for me and I'll show you in just a second
what it looks like okay time to see it it's like the entire pan
it's crazy um but I'm gonna
let this cook and since everything
got postponed we've just been like making do getting quick things to do for dinner because
like I said she just wants Mama um and so it's you know it's all true things but nothing
that we can't handle um so what I would have done was cook up all this hamburger meat and
burger meat I have some um ground sausage breakfast sausage that I need to also clean
cook up which I will do after this because I might as well just use one good pan and
then um scrambled eggs
and that's it I think that I need to like cook up everything else
like the produce I already did um and I don't think that I need anything else cooked or
prepped so I'm gonna cook this up I'll show you how I like store it and everything like
that um yeah it's about to die it's been a week okay so why I have the ground beef cooking
moving lunch out of the way good old mac and cheese and nuggies and then I'm gonna prep
the thanks as you can imagine it's been a heck of a week
um a really crazy week
and uh it's been a lot I'm glad that I have some experience in
broken bones or else they could have been like really bad it's been a lot um we didn't
realize it was broken like the first couple days I just thought like she maybe buckled
her knee or something and it was like it was uncomfortable but I think by day two and that
was Memorial day I think it was like very evident that something was really wrong so
we just waited for our Primary Care to be open which now we know they are open for eme
rgencies
like there's an emergency contact number that we can just contact and they can come and
see us um but no um and then it's got a splint on Tuesday they wanted her to come in the
next day um Wednesday wanted to come in the next day and checked in and everything and
it they wanted to put a hard cast on so we got an appointment the following day yes this
is like a full case of 18 things this is meal prep for my husband's breakfast um anyways
got the hard cast on Thursday Thursday night she
was having a lot
of discomfort in her heel after getting it on and like could not sleep we were up until
like I think finally I called at 12 30. uh called the doctors at 12 30 and then um
where's my list yeah look at that yeah okay did you eat your lunch my love no
can you please go eat lunch yes Mama what's up on your foot foreign took her to the doctor they took off the hard
pass [Applause] I love this thing um took off the hard cast to see what was
going on it looked like there was like a lit
tle pressure point in her heel and so then uh
with the best that he could put the cast back on and wrapped it with like that sticky ace
bandage stuff and that was Thursday night Friday by the time like I didn't go to bed
until like 6 a.m so by the time I got up we got up and I made the appointment uh I was
trying to call to make the appointment to get it like rechecked it was noon and this
closed at noon on Fridays so called the ER see what we should do and they said basically
like as long as it
's not bothering her she's able to put weight on it which she doesn't
even dare yet she got started like last night doing trying to stand up or do any like put
any kind of weight on it um and so they were just like just wait until Monday
so I called in today and they would want to recast it which I was anticipating like that's
what I expected but it's all the way through it's a left leg
tibia through the growth plate really are not good break um and they are concerned but
hopeful because um she'
s young and everything like that really hoping it's not going to
hinder or cause any issues later on we'll keep an eye on it so she has to have that
cast on for five weeks um no lakes or anything like that but she could still do a chlorinated
pool body of water splash pad or the the bathtub so it's not worst case like she can still
do some stuff I had a lot of parents have been sharing um tips and tricks and how to
like do life with a cat so that's been great and it's like straight leg It's Not
Bent so
that helps um they really don't want her putting any weight or any like anything like that
with a knee and then they said we'll probably have to check in for the first couple years
like once a year you know for the first couple years like three years or so just to make
sure everything's going okay to keep an eye on it and to make sure that we are taking
care of any problems or just ahead of it um so that was my week um so now we're just finishing
up meal prep um I was gonna make my husba
nd lunches but
I think that with that chicken that I prepped already I'll just do that with some like steam
that juice or a salad or something like that nice and easy for him um he's been going to
work um every day except for Friday because that was a really that was a long day for
both of us and I had him helping me [Music] um because like it was to the point where
I had to literally stay in the rocking chair um rocking her singing all glory be to Christ
because that's literally all she wanted
um and I cannot imagine the kind of pain and
discomfort that she was in and what she was dealing with so um it was a lot it was a lot
y'all having broken bones is not fun having a baby with broken bones like a little one
but let me tell you it was nothing like my daughter's broken arm like that was gnarly
for sure hers was like she broke both bones in her right wrist and nothing can prepare
you for that kind of stuff you guys nothing prepares you okay I'm gonna cook this all
up I will after it's
all after I get everything cooked up I will resume and I will show you
how I like I store it all okay I got the eggs in here I'm gonna put the sausage in here
in a second um I'm so glad I only have to do this once this week because the weather
is getting hot and I am hot in here there wasn't very much um grease or fact that's
great okay my husband is trying to cut back on like
unnecessary calories and all of that stuff so we're just doing protein bowls so it's
just a little bit of sausage um an
d some scrambled eggs and then if he wants to top it with like
cheese or he wants to have a side of like toaster like protein oatmeal if you can [Music]
um just a little you know reference he is um a weight lifter and stuff like that so
he lifts pretty heavy he's like bulky bodybuilder style type um lifting so protein is good and
then that is done and I will go put these in the deep freezer because that's the amazing
thing about these little bowls I picked them up at Walmart but Amazon sells the
m in like
bulk sizes um they are dishwasher safe like top rack and um freezer safe so it makes it
really easy to make you know all these breakfasts ahead of time um and then just put it in the
freezer and just picks it you know grabs out of there in the morning on his way to work
and I'll usually have lunches in there and this week I will not um but that way that's
all done okay so for the ground beef I'm making Stromboli tonight so I'm gonna put some in
just um uh oh my gosh what is this bag ju
st a storage bag it's not it's a Ziploc bags
just storage for the Chaos's fun chaos and not just like
Angry chaos and then I'm gonna put um the rest I'm gonna split the rest up into freezer
bags and then um I don't have anything else beef for this week it's just the Stromboli
um but I might do like an easy spaghetti or something like that on Saturday which I would
need it for so I'm just gonna keep it in part of like the blessing of it being cooked already
is I can literally just like put it in
like a one pot type thing with the sauce like spaghetti
um put pasta sauce in your like marinara red sauce whatever a little bit of extra a little
water in there is what I do and then like noodles and meat and just cook it all in one
and it's super fast and easy oh my gosh my eye itches not only as the temperatures heated
up here in North Idaho but still have allergies so um I'm I'm gonna move this okay so I am
just going to scoop this in here for this Stromboli stromboli um tonight I think that
's
good just a little little extra oh yeah I'm actually gonna probably make double
because my family really likes it a lot okay Stromboli the it's like the pizza rolled up
in a thing with mustard and pepperoni and cheese uh they have a hole in the so I'm just gonna toss it because there's
no need to keep it I know I know [Music] foreign and then I'll do the other one for like be
easy nachos tacos [Applause] um whatever and then I don't season this when
I cook it so that way it's um [Music] um if
I season it I feel like it changes
because like anyways you get what I'm saying I'm sorry for the chaos but as I'm sorry on
the other side of this video but that is life with seven kiddos actually the oldest is painting
her dad right now which is kind of like great timing because with Evelyn breaking her leg
she means me and stuff like a lot more and that way I'm like not having a bunch of like
running around and stuff to do um yeah so okay so ground beef for another night um in
the freezer bag
s dinner for tonight in the red like just regular storage bag that's how
we do meal prep for my husband um and then I already showed you like prepping the chicken
and all my produce [Music] if you guys have not tried bubblies
they're so good I like my favorite bubble Waters anyways a little hydrant because the
heat I'm glad I only have to do this once a week because it is hot and that just saved
me a lot of cooking actually um you would be surprised at like what one what a one hour
like cooking
session could help save you time wise during the week so if you haven't done
