eat it or need it get hello hello it is a year-rated time why do I host this show so you don't eat need it on this episode of eater unit we have Angela on for the first time ever you're in for a treat because this episode's theme is Filipino food we have Kimmy here to talk about it guys I am so excited this is the time this is the time we're all wearing barongs and celebration uh these are from Estes Wale we all look fantastic I love it and Selena also helped us cook today guys I'm very excited
to share a little bit of my culture and also share with you a little bit Yeah Kimmy tried to make some good stuff so I I don't worry I learned I could cook okay that's an awesome thing for you to learn right now before we eat um I like you a lot Kimmy you like me a lot I like you a lot I like you too I know here are the rules first hitting the Bell eats the dish that person is then out and safe for the rest of the game game last person standing eats the Big Bite which is either the best or the w

r dessert in the candy store they're like we gotta invent the new kind of candy oh let's put everything in the world in there and it's it's like everything in the world and I love Uber wow and there's red bean whoa is that like flum it's nice like a custard wow this is like every child's fantasy is seed a big old thing of that with a giant spoon so there's a part of it that's like extremely crunchy and like disintegrating in my mouth like it's like dipping down like almost like oh yeah like Dipp
ing Dots are like a malted milk situation and then there's like I don't know if it's like jello or Mochi or it's like everything else in there beyond the Ube ice cream I'm just like in question mark but it's good looking at there's a lot of gelatinous stuff there at the bottom yeah it's giving like tappy like what it's the not Boba that they have at the Boba place there's so much you know what I mean yeah all the other like things you could put in your Bubba is kind of what I'm seeing is the yel
low pineapple or is it creamy it could be like an egg custard what's the green part what's it taste like tell us what's the green gem we can't tastes like jello okay the other part that's like Dole canned fruit the red beans are for sure red bean um I think all right well I can confirm this giant hollow hollow with Ube ice cream shaved ice with evaporated milk sweet creamed corn sweet Jackfruit Sago which is uh tapioca pearls not a decoco which is coconut gel coconut jelly green stuff green gree
n goulomb which is that's the jello shredded young coconut sweet red bean and mango what sweet red bean it's just sweet red beans sweet red beans yeah sweet red really an Asian Cuisine you eat them in Savory dishes are just the dessert dishes dessert usually sweet or desserts yeah the sweet red beans do they grow sweet or do they get soaked that I do not Angela Olivia don't you both also have questions to take up more time you're loving it Damien you yeah it's like my favorite thing you're safe
you guys better get this away from me is this exactly what you're hoping for when you said you always wanted to taste this um all of it and more I had Ube ice cream like five years ago and for whatever reason I just haven't had it since then this is one of my like favorite desserts I absolutely adore this and also like one thing about Hollow it's mixed mix in Tagalog so you can really have a bunch of different kinds of things this is our interpretation of it oh yeah but yeah you can throw in man

job here yeah you can't touch it we don't care it's our first time I don't know okay ready three three two one I'm just gonna swallow it you can eat that's the other half of the show the second it hit my mouth bad just swallowed it good okay and I think this is like a sweet thing I love this okay I'm a texture girl okay when it feels weird in there I get freaked and it's slimy so I got scared um but it's like I couldn't even describe it it's just a really Pleasant dish what does the white liquid
taste like it feels like like cereal like uh sitting out for days the best cereal ever sitting out for days and it clumps and you have it and then you added like a little bit of sugar on top wow it smells chocolatey it smells really chocolate oh yeah there's there's chocolate okay see why didn't you say that it's just so stiff yeah it takes a bit to get it yeah okay wow wow I feel like it's convincible wow yeah I feel like it's condensed milk and they're it's just like a Brand chocolate sauce I
like the sound it's making yeah me too so what this is is Selena's Grandma's champorado so it's sweet rice chocolate and sugar yes yes I said Rice Krispies Treats like yeah that was about as close yeah that's awesome it's so good we've all been here to talk about the messages so my mom sent over the recipe via Facebook message um and it was super easy I've never made it before but I've had it many many many times as a child and as an adult uh on a Saturday morning when it's cold outside it's us
ually served hot but we made it a few days ago and it doesn't matter like you can eat it like I eat it cold like straight out of the fridge it doesn't matter it's just a different texture when it's hot but it's a great comfort food it's usually served with tiny fried fish called delis but we couldn't find tiny fried fish uh anywhere so they're like salty yes so it solves some really salty and sweet yeah and you said you had this in the morning yes it's breakfast cereal you said cereal yeah we ha
ve some of the best breakfasts because also what we'll do a lot of times is like have like our last night's leftovers but put an egg on it and call it breakfast yeah yeah right it's freaking dope Angela you eat it and you're safe so Angela that was your first dish uh Jackie how was your first dish oh yeah like your first episode my first episode was a molasses spring roll I could smell it it's very spicy it feels like I'm taking a bite out of like a swamp yeah yeah okay I had a tarantula my firs
t one it was a nasty ass tarantula had fangs it had legs it had four racks is a great initiation we're basically saying you have a probably a bug dish in your near future this is good though I'm pretty sure I'm so nervous for this next dish close your eyes for round three [Music] open your eyes ready five four three two one [Music] all right open her up I was just hoping to take the tupperware home I brought that from home I only have one please oh God all right I'm gonna open it okay open it I
was hoping your dry eyes [Music] [Laughter] see this dish is something that I kind of grew up looking at I feel like in my refrigerator that could mean many things yeah it could mean a lot of things you know I personally love hot foods this is so cold it is not hot oh what did I do it was probably hot at one point oh one oh [Music] I'm down Olivia calm down oh wow it is so good I wish this was hot it's Tangy it's like a little um sour like I feel like there's vinegar in here um soy sauce kind of
sweet main thing I think it's chicken and I think there's pieces there's bits of onion um and there's a little dried bay leaf um I love this this is so good can I guess what this is yeah is this a double buckle Jackie this says chicken adoboth [Applause] can I just say Olivia nailed it so it's chicken thighs chicken broth vinegar and soy sauce wow um and one fun fact about chicken adobo when you put it in the fridge um the there's chicken broth in it and it becomes kind of gelatinous when it ge
ts cold so whenever I try and serve this to my friends I'm like guys I have chicken adobo it's wonderful you're gonna love it and I pull it out of the fridge they're like oh I'll order that okay and I'm like trust me I swear when it gets hot oh boy no this is like something that would be in my refrigerator yeah 100 it gets it looks funky let's be around here what happens to it what like what chemical reaction occurs to make it jelly and weird when he tore into that chicken I was like yeah that's
good yeah six and a half yeah I want it hot I want it hot right oh my God it's freezing in here but this is so good Gary you've really stepped it up the Topo got really cold all right Olivia you eat it and you're safe wow we've had a lot of eats how's everybody else feeling it's good it's going up it's going up yeah it's just me you my friend and it's going up and it's been really great so far and I'm just gonna assume that we're just celebrating a beautiful culture I love them there's not goin

ke sweet it's Tangy it's really spicy inside it's got a great crunch to it it's got salt on the outside so it's like stimulating my taste buds they're all ready active fired up very curious as to why there's some giggles and some upward registers no it's it's fine if he can handle that sauce that's great no everyone try it yeah am I crazy it looks like a normal essay the way you're talking about the sauce I'm not sure why are you talking about the sauce or something I feel like you pooped in the
song Maybe episode 100. it's in the sauce you ate it wrong Olivia I'm so mad at you just now yeah look at how Olivia just ate this egg roll am I the only one that is tasting this right now you don't like this Olivia I mean I like it because of that because I love it I I can I know what's going on yeah what's going on there is a freaking banana in there oh she doesn't like bananas I love bananas but do you see it's a chicken egg roll with a banana what what are you talking about that's awesome l
ike they're like plantains it's really good okay that's great this dish is called fruit lumpia Turon with lumpia wrapper ground pork onion garlic Saba banana sweet chili sauce with sugar and also ghost pepper yeah so here's the thing I set out to make a fusion of things that I thought would be bad I was like I'm in it so there's something called Tyrone and and Phil like in our like it's a Filipino dessert um and it's uh sweet banana um Jackfruit and then you kind of caramelize the outer layer an
d then there's lumpia which is a my dog's name and there is pork ground pork in it there's some carrots onions garlic so I set out to put the two together I'm like maybe that'll be weird and it wasn't I think I made a new thing now but the way we try to get all Lucky with it was we put a ton of ghosts pepper in that sauce oh I love spicy food it is very spicy spicy where I order My Thai food I'm gonna go in for another life it's not a fan it's so good do you like it but I've had that dessert and
oh good and that's sugar around it I know oh my God I did taste the sugar it and then you put sugar on it then you fry it again and that makes the caramelized coating yeah you just literally sprinkle sugar on it you eat it deliciously and now you're safe baby I love it I thought I could be making these in the kitchen I was like she's making those with love that's gotta be good that's God Jackie that leaves you for the Big Bite are you ready yeah all right yeah it's been a lot of good ones today

e changing is this garlic it's an octopus just slip it right off what is take a good look don't bite that hard white thing on top bite the other side okay three two one oh wow oh wow oh I got so scared this is yolk but like is it like um what like processing the egg is is it like half incubated half incubate egg like this is pretty close to being like alive I'll just go ahead and answer the question that's in many people's head this is balut partially formed duck embryo okay it's untouched best
served with beer and it's a delicacy yes Jaclyn yeah that's like the part of the egg I guess that's where the nutrients come from don't quote me I don't know yeah well yeah what did it taste like how do you how do you feel it reminded me like a hard-boiled egg and I like eggs so I was like I think I can do this yes when I started sucking the juice with this the salt I was like this is Savory this is good that's amazing my people also eat some fascinating things so I was open [Applause] that's th
e most requested dish insane that's really cool y'all um this is uh polarizing food for sure um it was once used in a Fear Factor episode but this is a delicacy commonly had with a beer I've had it once in my life before the other the other egg my dad had and he decided that he wanted it to be hot from the fridge because it came from the fridge and he microwaved it and it exploded all over our Mercury my other memory about that I was about to put this one in the microwave instantly I was like no

rett puts malic acid on everything which is essence of sour is that the um and it doesn't matter to you I mean I can take really sour Angela try a bite of this here's the thing I cook with flavor doesn't matter if it's good or not it's just I need I need a lot of it whatever it is like my Margaritas are mostly just lime juice I can take really spicy and I guess it just takes over she moves in so what Malaga yeah that's mouth but one of them might have malic acid maybe which one we win which one
