Flood news in Montmorillon France: Gartempe and Vienne on orange alert!

The town center of Montmorillon flooded, the  Gartempe and the Vienne median on orange alert. A crisis unit is open in Montmorillon in the  south of Vienne to manage the floods this Saturday. The heavy rains caused the Gartempe  to overflow . At the end of the morning it exceeded 4.50 meters in height, approximately  two meters and fifty more than its usual level. the Vienne  median in the Chauvigny sector. The Vienne department is also alerting motorists:  departmental roads 675 and 10 are flooded in the La Trimouille and Brigueuil-le-Chantre  sector. Same thing for departmental roads 5 and 120 between Jouhet and Montmorillon.  Diversions are in place via RD 54 , 727 and 11. The department urges motorists to  be extremely vigilant. “ Please respect the signs and do not drive  onto blocked roads ,” he reminds.
