this week I eat some rather questionable food not going to lie it doesn't look the most appetizing heuse a rather questionable toilet little bit smelly and stay in a rather questionable hotel as I fly to one of the world's least visited countries East tore with their National Airline aod Dilly well good morning from beautiful barley in Indonesia I wish I could stay here this place is incredible but unfortunately I can't because today I'm off to take a flight on the national airline of East Tour
thank you very much see you next time first step today then was to get to the airport which was about a 30 minute ride from my [Music] hotel thank you very much have good thank you very much have a good day thank you right so East teore is a country at the Eastern end of the island of teore which in itself teore in Indonesian means East so it's actually called East East but we we don't talk about that East teore was originally a Portuguese Colony until the 1970s when it declared independence and
then a few days later Indonesia invaded M making a massive war that lasted like 25 years they finally got their independence back in 2002 and then in 2018 started their own Airline called aerod dill and then last year in 2023 a odil actually got their own plane and that's what we're going to be riding on today we're taking a flight over to the capital of East Tour Dilly on aerody Dilly on their Airbus A320 so let's go and get checked [Music] in hello good morning morning how are you check in pl

quick although she pulled my bike cuz she was convenient I got a pair of scissors in there and I was like I've got no scissors don't carry them why would I take scissors in hand baggage it literally is not allowed and she's like no no you got them you got them and she was convinced and she sent it through another scanner no no she didn't find them the second time but of course like this my fault anyway anyway right let's um go through and see where we can hang about for a little bit for the flig

ot bad Lounge actually priority p is great cuz um when you travel in economy like this or low cost Airlines and stuff you don't you usually get lounge access so it's nice to come and get something to eat even though it is borderline edible from the looks of it but you know this isn't mad so when my good friend Josh Cahill flew with aerod Dilly recently they posted publicly saying that he'd asked them for a $5,000 bribe in order to say nice things about them which I have a a couple of issues with
for a start Josh isn't Sam um some other YouTuber who goes around getting paid for saying nice things about Airlines and for a second $50,000 I mean I've got a bit of an issue with that in itself because if he's getting paid 50 Grand to say nice things about an airline who are these Airlines and where can I get a flight on them and aside from that they posted a photo of his passport on their Facebook page as well and started saying all sorts of nasty things about him so yeah this is going to be
interesting I hope I hope they're good today I'd really like to see how good they are so we we'll see when we get down there I guess all right guys there she is AO Dil Airbus A320 it's 15 years old this one it was originally delivered back in 2008 to Volaris in Mexico Volaris and um then Bangkok Airways had it for a few years over in Thailand and now she's flying for air Dilly and this is the only commercial airliner that's based in East Tor the only one this 320 they are talking about getting
some more of these and they're starting to expand their route Network a little bit as well which I'll talk about a little bit later on in the video but yeah that's my ride over to Dilly in in East so let's go and get silly on AO Dilly and I wouldn't have too long to wait to get silly on AO Dilly because it was soon time to get on board the flight thank you have a here goes AO [Music] Dilly hello how are you good 20 thank you hero Dil A320 is in an all economy class configuration with just 165 se
ats meaning that everyone gets a little bit more room and as a taller person that's quite nice because as we all know every inch helps Ling yeah all right welcome on board ailly this is actually quite nice the leg room is pretty decent I mean look that's me leg room that I'm working with at the minute it's pretty nice seats are quite nice and modern and smart as well very clean very clean aircraft as well very nice very very nice it's quite a nice play in this we're only about an hour and a half
I think on this flight they're just finishing off putting the bags on hopefully my bag's down there and it's one of them otherwise um we've be in a bit of a stuck situation but anyway we should be getting on our way pretty soon off to the delightful Delights of Dilly the delightful Dilly yeah but i' still got to work something out for that I boarding complete Ro to myself and as with the Indonesian Airlines every seat gets a safety card and a prayer card which is always interesting to see but I
wouldn't get much time to study it though because it was soon time to push back from the gate and get on our way to East [Music] timour so one thing I am learning so far is that the concept of airplane mode seems lost on most of the passengers on this flight and the crew don't seem to care like half the plane is on the phone on speaker phone to people video calls WhatsApp calls The Works we're like literally about to take off [Music] my route today then took us East out of barley to fly along t
he Indonesian Islands before dropping down into Dilly flight time today was 1 hour and 53 minutes cruising at 35,000 ft then so Airborne from barley now heading East that's where we're going is East all the way over to Dilly in East Tour te- more list we're out of phone signal range now so everybody's had their calls cut off now we've taken off so that's that sorted anyway I guess and we're just climbing up through a little bit of turbulence it smells like we might be getting fed I can smell I c
an smell food being cooked let's see what we get so as of right now A odil only have one air bu 20 in the fleet which is this one as I mentioned earlier it's the only commercial sized airliner based in Dilly they have one flight a day right now to De passar but they are by the time this video goes live I think they're about to start flying to Singapore as well which will be pretty epic and they do have plans to continue on to Darwin Darwin and Australia which is my next stop coincidentally after
Dilly but not with AO Dilly because they don't fly that route yet but um they have ' got plans to expand quite a lot internationally which is which is pretty cool really it's nice to see a little country like this get onto the world stage effectively by having flight to all of these different countries and um they're quite a nice place geographically as well down in East Tour sort of halfway between Asia and Australia so potentially who knows what could be on the cards there in Australia that w
ould be pretty cool wouldn't it but um for now it's just the one route through de Passa let's not get ahead of ourselves here they got St in Singapore like I say and who knows what the future holds for aod Dilly you know it always amazes me just how big Indonesia is as a country you fly over it for hours and hours and hours from one end to the other it's incredible I've read a couple of really good books actually by a guy who used to fly bush flights down there with a company called Susy air the
guy is called Dan richworth and um amazing books called Papa kilo Papa kilo obviously the Indonesian registration brief and um some of the stories in his books are absolutely incredible flying through some of these remote Little Bush strips highly recommend it all right then lunch has turned up we've got soy sauce chicken there was only one option they didn't give us any choice or anything so we'll see what it's like with the soy sauce chicken on aod Dilly let's have a look not going to lie it
doesn't look the most appetizing but we'll give it to go at least there it goes hope I don't get food poisoning it's cold nothing is supposed to be hot dish or not it's in a metal tray so You' think it would be it's sort of lukewarm does that make sense it's not H it's not hot it's just lukewarm it does say serve while it's hot I'm guessing they're just serving while it's lukewarm I don't know the rice is definitely cold it's time for the N Phillips blue review all right then time for the aerody
Dil L review this is one of two they've got at the back of the plane it's little bit smelly doesn't smell the greatest um this is what we've got so we've got some um aerody Dilly stuff there what's that couple of toiletries and things it's a bit bumpy uh we've got a basin obviously there bit of toilet roll a toilet with somebody else's leftovers in it um and an air freshener which doesn't seem to be doing a very good job and yeah there we go typical A320 bathroom really Oh that's oh that's quit
e open hang on yeah that's interesting um but anyway so this is yeah this is the L at the back of the AO da 320 C crew I have to say have been really nice so far very friendly very hospitable coming around they just brought the meal service round and things I've seen too much of them on the the flight but they seem pretty decent from chatting to them anyway they were quite nice and yeah about halfway through the right now I think down to East Tour that was the nol Phillips Lou review all right t
hen we've started our descent we should be on the ground in the next 15 20 minutes or so really excited to see what it's like them on the ground in East tore and as we started our approach into Dilly I just had to hope this AO Dilly wouldn't end up posting my passport details online like they did with Josh Cahill because after all nobody deserves having their personal data scattered all over the Internet for any want to find after all once your personal information's got onto the internet it can

t then I made it too Dilly little bit basic the hotel room but um this is me U I have a view of the pool down there might be in there later or I might just be sleeping I don't know there's a beach across the road oh very nice very nice some nice Aussie guy on reception as well but this is me for the night so we've got um a bed we have a probably an empty mini bar yeah empty mini bar we have don't know what this is like a water cooler it's not a cooler oh is a cool it's cold water wow yeah a wate
r cooler there uh we have TV it's like Michael Scott's plasma screen TV that isn't it I finally broke down and bought myself a plasma TV check it out popped off the wall or something and then we've got um a little bit of storage of Broly and and the bathroom the selda ban and we've got a bog towels sink and a shower is it's a little bit rustic little bit basic but in Dilly there is no International chains or anything like that so you're stuck with the little local hotels but as little Lo local h
otels go this isn't too bad I have to say anyway I'm going to drop me a bag start getting all this lot charging and then um yeah we might go and explore a little and see what there is out and about here and see what the Delights of Dilly are well good morning from the beautiful subtropical beaches of Dilly in East t-o I've had a relatively good night sleep actually in the hotel it's not the nicest hotel but I kind of think it's the best that you can get here in Dilly it's not the most visited pl
ace after all they reckon that they only get 10 people a day here visit who are not from East Tim more which is crazy in the whole country they get 10 visitors a day to the whole country and I'm one of them today which is absolutely crazy um but there they've got beaches and stuff although they're not in the best condition there's just rubbish everywhere look at this down here look it's a bit of a shame cuz it's such a beautiful it's got this could be a beautiful place if it was kept a little bi
t neaty you know we've got the rainforest over there of East Tour there's Indonesian Islands over there not up there landing on the runway there at Dilly which is just up the road from here um but yeah they don't they don't get that many visitors and I guess it's not hard to see why it's a little bit off the Beaten Track this um country of East teore I guess the war they had here put a lot of people off visiting it's not been on for like 25 years now and they are slowly recovering but I guess th
at still puts people off visiting the only people that really come from overseas come from for the oil and gas which is Rusty cam um come for the oil and gas which is apparently in abundance near here and a lot of Aussies come here for the oil and gas work and that's pretty much it I had a bit of a wander around Dilly which seems like a nice enough place although it's clear that years of turmoil have left it a little bit rough around the edges the people however were absolutely lovely hello good
