Finally welcome to one of the ten least visited countries Guinea Conakry! A soldier came and took me to the immigration without even getting a visa. Welcome to a new day! As you saw, we came to Dakar yesterday night. I'm in Dakar, Senegal's capital city and had to go to Conakry from Bissau but you saw the mismanagement by Air Senegal. The flight didn't get fixed, and left at night. I booked a flight to save time but ended up being troubled as you saw in last video. Let's take the shuttle to airp
ort as we're taking an evening flight to Conakry. We have come on the shuttle. This will drop us off at the airport. We're finally at the airport's departure in Dakar, Senegal. Dakar is quite developed. As you saw, the roads were nice. I've shown it in past videos too. Even at night, when we were leaving the airport their football stadium looked so good as it had lights in the color of the flag. It looked amazing! But I believe it is all borrowed money. Let's go inside now. We got troubled so mu
ch yesterday. It was a tiring day. Let's enter the airport again. I don't know how many times I have visited this airport. I'm unsure if the check-in counter is open as it's 1:25 p.m. right now. The flight is around 4 pm. It's a direct flight to Conakry this time & I hope there is no issue like yesterday like it got cancelled or broke down. They checked my Visa and put this sticker on my passport to signify security is cleared. I'll tell you about Conakry's visa process but let me get the bag ch
ecked in. I got done with immigration within 5 minutes. I had self clearance at immigration. There was an officer at the end. I scanned passport & boarding at the machine along with fingerprint. The officer then stamped the passport. I got done with everything in 5 minutes. Got done with security too. I had a lot of issues at this airport last time. The last time I had my flight, the gates kept changing and had to run around. We were talking about Conakry's visa. I can't show my visa on screen a
s the last time, when I showed my Morocco's visa my video was deleted by YouTube saying I'm sharing personal information. But, I had edited & changed the details. Whenever I show my document, I edit or change my details. So, Conakry's visa... You can get e-visa from their website and I think it costs $80-85. But the problem with e-visa on an Indian passport is that it takes time or you might not get the visa. I spoke with 3 friends who had taken Conakry's visa in past. One got it after a month o
f applying, another got it after 3 weeks of applying and one of them never got it. So this is the issue. My friend, who holds an American passport, received the visa in a day. So, e-visa is quite risky. So, if you decide to visit Guinea-Conakry, then apply your e-visa at least a month in advance. Otherwise, another option is since I didn't have much time and didn't want uncertainty where I keep waiting after paying $85. And if I don't get the visa after that, I take a physical sticker visa. It w
ould have been a long process. I took help of Waheguru Travels again. They've helped me a lot during this (Africa's) trip. So, they got my visa issued by the ministry within a day. However, this costs more. If you take sticker visa or from the ministry then it costs about $350 and is very expensive compared to e-visa. It's 3 times e-visa's cost. But, I got the visa within a day and due to the hassle I had in Africa I didn't want to take more risk or waste more time. It's fine if I pay more once
but I will be free from worries. Else I will stay stressed and book the flight or stay in a country waiting to visit Conakry once I get the visa. I can't board even if I book the flight I would not have gotten the visa until then. Then I got the visa through Waheguru Travels and they got it processed within a day. They get it processed in a day or two. So, if in case you have time restraints and don't want uncertainty or hassle then you can opt for this expensive visa Otherwise, a better option
is to plan well in advance and apply for e-visa timely. Another option is to apply for e-visa but when your travel dates are near or you have 3–4 days and you haven't got the e-visa you pay more to get visa from immigration. But in this case, your $85 for e-visa will go to waste. So, you can choose from any of the 2 options. Due to time restrictions, I chose to pay more as you saw in the last videos on how troubled I was. I didn't want to get troubled due to visa this time. I am at the boarding
gate and the flight is in 3.5 hours. I ate at Planet Kebab last time and it was bad. But other options are even worse so let's go back here. They just had beef and no chicken so I'll checkout the rates in the lounge here. I took lounge access which was for 54 euros or $70 or 35000 CFA, their currency. It can be called Senegal East Franc or West African Franc and ₹1 has 7.5 CFA. So, 35000 CFA will be ₹4700. Lounge access is for about ₹5000. I have the flight after 2 hours and boarding starts in 1
.5 hours. But, it is still fine as even at the restaurants outside I would've got Indian food for about 1500. It would not have been sufficient, and is totally unhealthy. I will get healthy options here. I will eat some now and then eat again while leaving. I will also rest for a while. It's no doubt expensive. It's quite expensive but it's fine. I was at the airport yesterday and didn't eat anything good. It was the same a day ago as I can't find good or healthy food. So, I'll eat some food now
and try to pack some for on the go. I have all these options here. There're some desserts and drinks that side. Honestly, the food isn't that special here These are the options here. Chicken that's not too good along with rice. I picked these tomatoes from the salad and this was the desert which doesn't look like one. Don't know what it is. It feels like a scam now. ₹5000 ($60) was not worth for this. There's alcohol over there for drinks. So, I just got water. Eat this food for ₹5000 now. This
happens in Africa. Convenience is very expensive in Africa and if you start paying for it or luxury it will cost you a lot. Either you don't pay at all like how I travelled in the van you can travel like that. That will cost you less. But you'll waste a lot of time & energy and you will get very troubled. Now I am at a stage where I have to deliver videos on time. Not just for YouTube but it's like I'm handling business now. So, I can't afford to stay away from internet connectivity, or can't c
hoose to upload timely, or I stay disconnected with my editor and team. That is a huge problem. Hence, I took a flight to save time but you saw how I got troubled. I also take care of my health and don't eat junk or unhealthy food and try to eat healthy. I do find cheap options like sandwiches on the roadside but I don't eat that. They are very cheap. Travelers generally prefer to eat that. You eat that to save money but that is also harming your health. This is why I end up paying more for food
. I got healthy food here also but is not delicious. It's difficult to find both over here. I brought milk and drank it from a bowl so everyone was staring at me But, I got hot milk here. I somehow feel full after drinking it. My friends are here. Sherrie is sitting over there. Where is Vijay! He has gone to the washroom. We're running towards boarding gate number 201. They want us to hurry as it's the last call. I think they're waiting for us. You might remember, the last time a car specially c
ame to pick me and the airline waited for me as they changed the gate at the last minute. They changed the gate today also but we were able to catch the flight today. Is the flight empty, or is the bus empty? They take us in the bus for a short distance too instead of making us walk. Where are our friends! They didn't deboard us from the flight like yesterday. It's running Yesterday, they made us sit for half an hour on the flight. and then asked us to deboard. I left my hotel yesterday at 7 am
and it's almost 7 pm on the next day. So, after almost 36 hours I'll finally land in Conakry now. I had thought of traveling by plane to save time took even longer than anticipated. If I had crossed by land I would've reached Conakry in lesser time. But anyway, when I reached Bissau's airport yesterday morning I told you I made so many friends Some were Americans and some Indian origin. I became friends with them. Sherrie who is sitting with me uploaded a photo with me on Instagram yesterday and
I re-uploaded it. So, a lot of you who follow me on Instagram messaged me, saying she is Shakira and what I am doing with her. So, people thought I am with Shakira. So, when I posted the story today I tagged Shakira instead of her and people think I am with Shakira. Also, see this. Welcome finally one of the ten least traveled countries, Guinea Conakry. You saw what all happened at the airport yesterday. People were fighting. Don't know what will happen today. I have noticed this in Africa as i
t gets crowded people will start rushing towards it. They are a slightly less organised. But, no worries, it is fine. They don't need to! The airport looks good. I don't have expectations from this place as there's nothing to explore in Conakry. Tourists don't come here and especially after the ebola virus. I came to take the baggage here and I'll tell you what happened. Let's go! One of their soldiers came to pick me up and at the immigration... I'll tell you. Without the sticker visa he took m
e separately from the queue. I have come outside. I've come out of Conakry airport within 2 minutes of landing. Their airport is actually nice. Conakry's airport is nice based on the countries I have been to. My flight had landed 5 minutes ago and I am outside the airport. I had the visa approved. They don't send the entire visa but it's approval & basis that you get your visa stamped at airport. So, I had the approval with the help of Waheguru Travels who got it from the ministry. Even if you t
ake e-visa you have to take sticker visa on arrival. You've to stand in the queue for visa on arrival. I stood in line with my American friends. The staff saw my visa in phone & asked to stand in line. In the meantime, a soldier came as they may have communicated about my arrival, asking to pick me. He asked me to come out of the queue and took me to the immigration counter. There was a counter with no one there unlike the others. There was an immigration officer for me who stamped my passport i
nstantly. They didn't stick the visa but just stamped. I exited without my bags being checked. The car is here to pick me up. Got done with everything in 5 minutes. I'll keep the bags in the car and leave. I don't know where I'm staying. I'll stay wherever they take me. Who is Manish? How are you? I am great. As soon as I landed at the airport Gaurav & Manish came to pick me up. I couldn't record on the way. My internet wasn't working so I was trying to connect it with VPN. Then I received a co
uple of calls. What is this area? This is Koleya. Koleya! I'm staying in an apartment in Koleya. I got done with everything quickly. My American friends are still in queue and they messaged saying it's taking longer than Mumbai immigration. They're still at the airport and I've even reached the apartment. I'll go, keep the bags and then eat something. The roads looked nice on the way but I didn't record much. But, is well developed and comparatively more than Bissau. I was in Bissau before this.
There was nothing over there. This is Hitesh. This is... Kushal! Kushal brother! Gaurav... He came with me in the car. Harsh! Harsh brother! So, we are all here. I'm at this apartment. Is this my room? Yes Okay, I have to sleep on this bed. They brought me to this apartment. It's a nice and spacious apartment. I will rest and sleep here. I might go out once to eat something. But, it's nice. The airport wasn't too far and was just 15-20 minutes away. The airport was nearby only. Dakar's airport
is an hour away from the city. It is very far. You've to go 1-1.5 hour away. But its okay. I couldn't record Conakry much while coming here or even after landing as everything was so quick. It feels I landed 10-12 minutes ago and then came on this bed directly. So, I couldn't show much but will explore it tomorrow. First impressions seem good to me, like their airport is better as compared to other parts of Africa. Even the roads I could see seem nice to me. You may be unable to see in the dark,
but down there is a pool. I was asking them if there're more such complexes and then saw such societies in the front even though it's among least visited countries. So, people definitely come here but only for business. as there're resources & minerals here that are imported and exported. Or they run supermarket. Chinese, French, Lebanese or even Indians come here as the conditions in Africa are very harsh. Not every businessman can survive here. Europeans are unable to run business here as sur
viving with less infrastructure is difficult. So you will mostly find Indians or Lebanese. And since it was a French colony, people from France also come here. As, people speak French here, they don't face language issues, and the country is influenced by French. This is the space outside the apartment and they have kept a billiards table here. It is a huge apartment. See this! There're sofas inside and...oh wow you have even made a gym here. Nice! Which mosque were you talking about? Okay! Oh w
ow, it's a huge mosque. There wasn't much infrastructure in Guinea-Bissau like you see this beautiful mosque here or some complexes. People come & do business in Conakry and Guinea-Bissau hasn't been explored yet. Tourists don't come here but due to business and resources the country is being explored, and people come here to make use of minerals. You won't believe world's largest bauxite reserves or iron ore reserves or aluminum ore reserves are here in Guinea-Conakry. Even Australia is said to
have it. One of them is at first place but are somewhat equal. What's this? Falooda? Yes! Oh, wow amazing. Thank you! Looking at the mosque, you would have guessed that over 90% of population practice Islam. There are a few Christians and some people practice indigenous or traditional religions. There's an issue with internet here so I have to use it with VPN. They said the problem had been there for two days. WhatsApp, etc is not working but started working as I turned on VPN. Not sure if I sh
owed it to you on Airport or not but like I told you guys after online approval, I had to get in line for visa on arrival. The queue was very crowded, but the soldier took me separately, & I came out directly. It is 9 p.m. right now. and my friend, Sherrie, just called me I was calling her Shakira, & was on the plane with me. She told me they just got free from the airport and are going to the hotel now. So, it took them so long in the visa on arrival queue as it was crowded but they were also w
orking very slowly. I didn't need the visa. Their was another friend of mine from Singapore who is from Indian ethnicity but holds Singapore's passport. Singapore passport holders also don't need visa but Americans need it. So, they stood in line after having the approval like I had. But I didn't need visa and let me exit by directly stamping at immigration. I'm at the apartment since 1.5 hours and is already 9 p.m. and they will reach their hotel now. They're staying in Hotel Noom. We became fr
iends just day before yesterday. and our hotels weren't the same. They had booked their hotel which is, I think, quite expensive. Team at Waheguru Travels asked me to stay here at the apartment as they had an empty room. So, they brought me to the apartment. Sherrie called me for dinner saying everyone will have dinner together. But, they have also made chicken here so I'll have food here or try to go there. We have the day planned together for tomorrow. Everyone is taking so much care of me Th
ere're 4 chapatis' with ghee. with some onion. There was an Indian chef here who made chicken. They kept asking what I'll eat but I said I'll just enjoy this. Let us eat this. They also got some bhujiya They eat it with chapati as they are all from Rajasthan. Here's Red Bull but I won't be able to sleep if I drink it as it contains caffeine. I won't drink that. This is curd and papad? Curd and papad. Sindhis eat that? Yes Thank you brother. But I will only eat a little.
