How cool is that I'm afraid to open it
cuz it says US Secret Service. It's a job [Music] We're at DFW airport once again heading
to Washington Dulles to rescue a holy grail Corvette we've been fortunate enough to rescue a
ton of Corvettes this year but we have not done a Holy Grail one yet you got to see this so grab
your cup of Joe and let's go! Morning Sean P! Oh God let me go back inside wasn't it 80° back home? It was 80 in Dallas, it's 40. Oh yuck. It's sunny and it's raining here. That
's okay, you
know why? Why? Cause it's a Holy Grail day Holy Grail day yes I said it holy grail we going
after a Holy Grail Corvette that's tough to do. I just dropped three off. You sure did. I
don't know if those were Holy Grails though. Those are in the grail. Big day today
71 LS6 Corvette. A lot of people don't even know that they made an LS6 Corvette. Most assume
that the 70 LS6 Chevelle was the last LS6, but it's not. [Music] [Music] So let me get this straight, you posted
this 3 hou
rs ago you have 35 people that already want to buy it, but you want me to wire you or give you
my credit card number just so you can hold it? Hm good luck with that sir. Have a great day. One of
the most frustrating parts of what we do in the car business, and what I do during the day. This
is we call this our scam spam phone. We literally have this in the office where when something looks
too good to be true, it normally is, but you never know. There's a lot of scam spam online ads and we
get a lot of stuff incoming here that we have to filter through our emails and through the phones.
So the most important things company-wise for me is to have our IDs protected. Whether it's mine
or the company's, and we use AURA for that. The sponsors of today's video. Aura finds your personal information
floating around the web and removes it. Well if that doesn't give you peace in mind, I don't
know what it does. Last year there was 800,000 Americans that got scammed online for over $10 b
illion.

What do you think? Normally I think we come through there, but it rain last night. Yeah
uh they already
seen how we get stuck around here so I don't think they want to see that again. It is incredibly cold
out here, like crazy cold, and Sean got the truck stuck. This is 100% Sean's fault. I'm not upset
at all, my blood pressure hasn't moved. Uh we don't have a good plan to get the truck out. It's going
to be interesting. I predict that this is going to take..... a long time. But if this is the worst thing that
happens today it's going to be a perfect day. Uhm you want to look
up here I don't know
if there's enough room up here. How cool is this in the middle of a neighborhood. Look
at the building. I think you turn around. No. Best I could probably do would be jack
knife right there. Hi, sir how are you? Hi, Dennis Collins. I'm Jeff, nice to meet you. You
too sir, thanks for having us. Yeah I think Sean's going to go ahead and do it the hard way. So... I
told him he could pull it around and then we can back it up and turn around.
I do, I got a 90ft truck and tra
iler you know stacker and all that you just pull up through
a driveway you back up turn around come back out It is a toy barn! Cool to see the Camaro that won Daytona. What's that? The
Camaro that won Daytona. Yeah pretty neat huh yeah cool been like 20 years Shing There It Is Well you are
obviously extremely knowledgeable I don't know I I well with what's in here you must be depending
on what you're talking about well tell me what you know about I know the car since I was a kid
the guy tha
t owned it bought it new friend of mine name buying Winden picker he bought it new
I always thought it was cool my dad when I was a kid had a car look just like same year same col
same everything only had small block in it how did he get this car he bought it off the lot and
uh uh Liberty or Union bridge I'm sorry so the the only thing that I'm able to track down show
Chevrolet paperwork's not available it's not like contct was the ncrs data shipping report and it
shows that that car was so
ld here in Maryland and the name of the company was Neil Chevrolet hille
right but they weren't a high performance dealer well it said on I don't really know I was a kid
at the time but all I know is he bought it off of that l in like 73 it sit there you know nobody
would buy it because of fuel gas and all that you know in uh I think it was the 71 so I think
it sit there for 2 years or something and then he finally bought it bought it he said he paid 5
grand for it on the road you know they
just pretty much gave it which was a huge discount cuz this
car was the way this car was equipped was almost 8,000 bucks right just the but they couldn't they
couldn't move they couldn't rid of it at the time the reason was cuz of gas bull Stu this was the
second worst fuel M score ever made I would think the L88 was the only one that was wor okay and you
know the cool thing and and as I opened the auto repair shop up downtown Frederick and uh when I
was 18 when I graduated high school and
you know a year or two after that I'm going to say 1970 980
it brings me this car it needs a clutch oh okay so I take it all part you know I'm a kid I don't
know it's just clut take the transmission out take clut out just got to go this clut I've never
seen such a and that is very significant guys the Dual disc CL which means this car's got an M22
in it right and not an M21 which is also and dual disc M22 Rock Crusher is that uh sketchy driving
no you don't really know it and uh at the tim
e I thought wa I never seen nothing like this and and
my buddy I had a friend that worked The Parks at the Chevrolet deal which is right down the street
here at the time it was called key Chevrolet it's called fish now but I called him up to get a clut
okay he said not available you know I called of course all the park stores not available not
available so it took me like 3 months he took the clutch and sent it to wherever GM would send
it to and had it rebuilt and I put it back in So then
I'm thinking this car is you know kind of
wild then you look at the motor and the heads are aluminum you know I'm thinking W this thing
pretty cool very special car and uh from that day forward I love the car and I know the guy and
uh you know I've tried to buy it from him for the last 25 years and I'm not going to sell it I'm
not going to sell it me and my grandon the gy store you know I mean and he owns nothing about
cars and he never did it and uh he called me up and they said I'm going
to sell the car I got four
people to call and you're the first one do want so yeah and I had I had big hopes of you know
well that just what you told me helps that car tremendously that you know that long I've known
it since the fact it's got an M22 and and the it is a numbers matching match I got the paperwork
froms guy that checked everything on the whole car oh wow I didn't know you had all that yeah
the guy's name is uh Gus he's L to this according to the Corvette blackbook cuz I'm not
claiming
to know everything out of well out of the 21, 71 Corvettes built only 130 of them got the M22
right and so not even not not ll6 has had yeah I think that's a myth that is wrong right uh so
the fact that it's got it is just huge I had no idea you had this that is this guy he's with
the ncrs he's there 69 to 68 to 72 expert and all that so uh you sent me a picture of the valve
cover off and the heads are obviously right right so he said everything on the car you know and
something I
didn't even know you know the air cleaner lid underneath of it has look at that
425 horsepower okay even the air cleaner lid underneath of it has a part number and all that
I never knew and he said even that's all lot a lot of special he said even down to the valve
stem caps on the tires are real head you know the other cool thing I liked about this car
was it's never had headers on it it's never been you know had mag wheels on it you know it's
never been full with you know I me he just dr
ove it all is the r2s which there's only a couple
of them 11 I think 11 or 12 had did have M22 uh but there were a few of these cars automatics
really there was there was L6 automatics I think there 12 of them I don't know that and there
were some convertibles wow they weren't all t- toop well I'm not is it the original
carburetor yep he said the carburetor is probably wor $4,500 now where you going to find
one yeah yeah he's got all that in his paper there that's it list 4808 original carb
uretor
now you told me this before I came up there and I just saw it right here it is to C block yeah
but heads intake carer all that stuff's correct all it's correct and and like I said you're
see in there and Gus he was here for 2 days check everything underneath on top he saves me a
lot of time he said you could uh call him if you like I would love to call he know you know CU
he knows about the car um so what's the story on the on the motor was it done was it done under
warrning yep und
er warranty uh you I I can even give you buying phone number the guy that bought
it new uh he said you know in 1974 or something cuz they extended the warranty because they bought
it 2 years after and he said start getting oil and freezing the oil and he took back to the dealer
and they told him that the block was cracked so they changed the block and he obviously didn't
save it no okay so he's not a car guy he's not I mean the C blocks and that's the best thing you
can possibly get done un
der waranty so and they did it under atev at the Chevy dealer okay he
looked at every inch of the body inside and out said it's never been crashed it's never been hit
that I know of and you know I've known it since 70 6 I'd say so is this a code 983 car it's got be
yeah I'm I'm I'm not an expert it's cool so this is a 983 car which is Brand's hatch which is the
famous racetracker England really so they named this paint on this car after that really and a
lot of these LS6 cars were this colo
r uh because you know basically was a race car right yeah he
didn't drive it to the grocery store I wouldn't think this thing was just brutal to drive would
keep clutch in it oh yeah I was 18 years old what I was in Heaven Got 6,500 R PM Red Line Tack and
what's really cool Sean when you walk up this this will give you a warm feeling when you see this
yeah 454 425 horse yeah this is also the last year of fiber optics yeah uh well you know what
Jeff I was planning on looking at this car for
about an hour or two before he paid you but this
took two days for an ncrs guy to do I've actually SE him take three days I paid him 600 bucks for
that I believe it how about I just pay you every bit of what you're asking for it huh how about if
I just pay every bit of what you're asking for be fine with me all right be fine with me let's going
to a lot quicker than I anticipate I was going to put this thing up in the air and everything day
wow well I can if you like but is this a 410 posy
car yes but he paid me in 1970 1980 to put
a 331 in okay I have the fact and I put GM stuff in it here's the factory here and and carry it so
this car with a 331 in it the top speed would be faster than you would ever want to drive right
okay so you got the factory I got the factory carrier that was for the 411 and here's the
factory 411 gear from GM yeah S I said 410 that's going to be 4 411 Chevrolet whatever
yeah and you know it's something funny you know I don't know anything I thought
this was from Pep Boys says that's Factory that's Factory for that car I've had
these way these Tabs are I almost threw it away because I thought that's awesome that is
that is huge you have that here's the original title that is incredible so I noticed when you
sent this to me and now you've explained it to me the reason why this title was done in 72
is cuz this car sell a lot forever because it was unsellable because of poor fuel mileage back
there so a true one-owner LS6 Corvette notice
you guys dropped the tank you had a little bit of tank
sticker left y unfortunately the tank sticker is not very good no I took a picture of it but this
is all that's left over which really ain't nothing just this little I just laid it in the were yall
able to read anything on it well I can't have SE anyway so okay A little bit of something is better
than a whole lot of nothing but that's not a whole lot of tank sticker but you can tell it's the
original tank and I am thoroughly convinced
that car is real it's real to me and when you
got an ncrs guy that put his stamp of approval on it that it's real you're good to go I was a
little bit nervous it's such a rare car so why above all the other things that I said on that
car makes it holy grail the production numbers are really low 188 of them and we are definitely
going to get that car running and I am definitely going to Raw High sweet thank God has two seats
let me go yeah you go for a ride with so that's how newor came from
and I was so excited about
all those pieces of Theos you have there having an NC certified by a judge is incredible like
glost over that car is8 50 hle real oh God that is a monster carborator that's cool yeah see but
I couldn't find anything on this dealership well it's still there really but it's not it's done
changed names a couple times right now it's uh Jeff Barn Chevrolet I think but these guys weren't
known for high performance stuff or anything okay no very very odd that a small de
aler would got
that yeah it's a little dealership down in uh like towards westmin you know what that's at
don't you really cool cuz I actually bought a truck from them in 1980 before after it done turn
after it uh went to Jeff bar chevret but before Jeff bar it was me so were those the actual miles
in that car yeah yeah I wouldn't think you would have driven it very much 410 gears and 850 Holly
yeah what are the numbers are it's low 4 do you think [Music] can't light no sir 47560 green on g
reen you got
to love 1971 is that function to get your windal we out yeah that's a vacuum Opera there real
pained weird war on it started at 68 I don't think I've ever seen one up before well if
you shut it off there's a button down there you can make it open by itself how long
has it been since it ran any idea yeah probably probably uh I'm going to say middle 90s okay not forever
middle middle to the end of ' 90s we fired up a 428 super coverage at Mustang last week
that been sitting sinc
e ' 86 and it R wow that don't surprise me we make good stuff back
day it don't surprise me at all all right let me get you paid we'll swap some paperwork some
of those guard rails are so you got you have to take the exhaust off of the tire Carri out
to get the gas tank out right he did just send me a picture of the tank sticker complete
on the tank um previous owner took a rear bumbers off and had him recr and that was the
extent of the restoration he did so this is a complete correct car
yeah now all we got to do
is get shot get it on the trailer no problem no problem ni plan yeah Donnie was a uh race car driver out of Texas
Dickerson Texas and he had a terrible in Denver in 89 so I got to know him he's the FBI agent
out a quanico okay one he used to paint the cars back then I contacted him sayy can you do
a rendering for him he never had after he lost the car quit so he did that for me and send
it to D Liv down by DC so he was the Pontiac guy sponsored by the dealership ou
t of Dickerson
running that was his grandparents and his father okay was gave honey his father raced Muny cars
back in the early '70s and this was the car that ran against the most famous car our area was
Raven beetles part the Blue Max and the day that he crashed he was racing Don for at Denver
that crashed and burned up and had a wow well thank you sir that's outstanding and I'll get
you these glasses Mr P these are for Jonathan well those are for you big glasses are for him
how cool is
that I'm afraid to open it cuz it says Us Secret Service it's a job one of the
best parts of doing what we do is meet people like you the finder on the car Jeff is the owner
and where else are you going to get that I will proudly display that home in my bar drink thank
you that is really cool it thanes for all the time put the Ste together just help no Budd up
and he actually watches coffee walk and that's how he figured out we might be interested in
it but how long did it take us to say ye
s less than 5 minutes johnan walked in and sat that
on my desk it sounds like a lot of money to me I said no get it done he's like you sure yep so
the time we got the lead the time we bought the car was 5 minutes we overnighted deposit I pay
in the balance today well thank you you just my day special I really really appreciate
that all right now let's go get on the trailer so we we we we just built
a stand you going say any to move my service been long what day is
it Friday it really thoug
ht was THS it little good over there wheel machine thank you and I know it's going to a
good home I am thrilled to have it and Jeff thank you for finding it and for watching coffee walk
yes sir every day one last question for both of y'all best local place to eat like homecooking
food best place are your are your favorite over here Dutch's Daughter Dutch's Daughter don't
none better in the country all right what do you recommend what do you like there I like everything
everything what do yo
u like everything I own a lot they got a filet Oscar that will make you dizzy
so good they got everything what you whatever it ain't the best you call me and I I tell you we're
going if you guys want to go I'm paying for it so if you guys want to go eat including you two meet
and S we're going to Dutch's Daughter that's my youngest we have four almost we have like five
dining rooms um the dungeon's actually their newest edition it's been around for about a little
over 10 years now it used t
o just be storage but the restaurant's a little more formal up here
the pictures above the fireplace are actually the owner's parents they're not with us anymore but
this whole room this side of the restaurant is all family photos her parents here her parents here
they met in the service and then more pictures of them in the back and then this is her and the
building's 30,000 ft 30,000 yep so that's her and that picture there she started this 35 years ago
almost 40 years ago now actually an
d she named it after her dad her dad got the Nick Nam Dutch in
the service cuz he was German so he started in 1984 I think ' 8686 86 and we been here since
2000 she used to rent a little old building in Frederick and she was there for almost 15 years
before she designed and build this one wow yeah well we're here because it was you bought this is
the we did buy an awesome car but we told this is the absolute best restaurant oh yes the wles love
us they're just so sweet um so Joe grew up wit
h one of Jeff's Sons okay um and they just always
stayed really close and they Brian Raves about us to everybody in Frederick he like goes to bat for
us when other people tell him that someplace else is better he's like oh no let me lay down the
facts about Dutch's Daughter were very insisted this is the best place D so I'm glad you're here
we eat a lot good all of the dining rooms have names um and they're either family or people
that were really close to my mom the owner and she kind of j
ust dedicated certain areas to just
her favorite people so Sunny was a friend of bears who passed away and then D Willard um that's the
back dining room he's just been like a mentor to her with her business and always giving her advice
and he has his own business he's in his 9s now but still a very good friend of E's and just someone
she really trusts and then we have whole another level officers that we do banquets weddings all
kinds of parties retirements whatever you know it's a great pl
ace when the kids are working
here yeah i' say kid but family members that's awesome yes definitely still family rounding me
my mom is here 5 days a week involved every day of the week you know it's a it's a lifestyle
that she's definitely dedicated herself to and always makes sure the business has what it needs
so well thanks for having us it is an incredibly impressive building well thank you beautiful thank
you all right let's go eat what have we got hot and spicy shrimp crab dip crab di
p I'm going to
try to dip chips and bread you guys didn't have to wait for us it just literally sit down they just
just just a second I love crap hot and outstanding was this sweet and sour or SP this is spicy yeah
you're going to like itoo almost looks like a lobster outstanding I wasn't expecting this
going to Bunch so 9 oz filet Oscar holiday sauce medium rare twice baked potato you
know I got to fit all this in one bite I hope you like it wow look at that medium rare
love it this is a
lunch wow outstanding Jeff this is a proper recommendation for a lunch
you guys are ever anywhere near Frederick Maryland this is worth the drive what' you get
Zach chicken off right though oh Dam that's a good new actually can't take you anywhere he
to like that too you got chicken in a steak [Music] place all right guys I feel like I
rushed the 71 LS6 Corvette by a little bit I normally check all the numbers and show them to
you cuz it's incredibly important to see that on such a rare car
uh but he had had an ncrs big
block judge judge the car which I didn't know and I was shocked at that when I got there and I
have his letter there but I'd like to go over a couple things I think that really wor neat to see
here is the gas tank with the tank sticker on it fortunately they took a high resolution picture
of it we blew it up it's going to be difficult for you guys to see it here but we studied this
pretty hard you can see Brand's Hatch Green for the paint right there green vin
yl interior 454
V8 fourspeed and some of the other options here uh but unfortunately they tried to take this off
and the tank sticker is very much degraded what I have done in the past is when we take them off
like this we take very carefully take some brushes and get all the dust off there's always a lot of
dust photograph it extremely well and we put Saran wrap around them fortunately they didn't in this
situation but this car is I believe is bulletproof anyway this is what's left of the
tank sticker
after trying to pull it off they will literally just disintegrate so if you have one that's not in
really good shape which is not uncommon leave it on the gas tank and wrap it with Saran Wrap we're
very fortunate on this car there's one bulletproof ta tail sign actually a whole bunch of them what
we're going to do is we're going to go outside and I'm going to show you the correct component
parts for an LS6 and all the ones that were born with on this car and one really key thin
g that I
learned this week and I've been around Corvettes literally my whole life since I was 13 years old
my very first brand new car I ever bought was an 81 Corvette and I can't believe I didn't know
this what a cool trick it doesn't exist very often but when it does you need to know it
so let's go check out some numbers on this LS6 as you can see we haven't got off the trailer
yet but start with some of the obvious stuff you tell this has been messed with here's the original
Emissions C
ontrol decal 454 four barrel AV 454 425 horse sticker on the air cleaner yes somebody
could have F that but it has not been fake on this car air cleaner LS6 Style original carburetor which is an
850 which is a monster carburetor which would be a 398 6195 which appears right
here that is correct and here's your number original intake is a 396 3569 which
you can plainly see right here now I've to I've taken this picture on my phone which I'll
give to Zach it's a little hard to see on the came
ra but here's the block number now this is
a C2 block those of you that know your LS6 is that is really really significant in that the
LS6 warranty motors which means they were put in under warranty were generally c0 or c e1s
cuz those were generally used in LS6 chevels there were so few only 188 LS6 Corvettes built
you can imagine how few engines were actually put in under warranty and for this to have an
LS6 warranty bottom in it would need to be a C2 uh I did talk to Chuck Alexus even th
ough this is
a 454 he's the 427 King he's the most switched on guy I know specifically on Chevrolet Big Blocks
he's like wow that is amazing now it's the next best thing for it to have in the original bottom
end of the motor both of the exhaust manifolds are correct the codes on the exhaust manifolds
are 388 0869 and 388 0828 the coil number is a 263 which has been checked and verified transistorized conditions in it
copper radiator all the LS6 components as far as that goes we'll open the
door here you'll
see it's got these 6500 Redline tack uh they did have the it's even got the correct alternator the
alternator code is a 11054 3 which you can see up here so so far so good everything's looking fantastic we do have the transmission
number they had it up in the air it is numbers matching original transmission
and again it's an M22 which is a big big deal there were only 132 out of all the
71 Corvett built with an M22 again with this being one of 188 the M22 and the 410
posy
this is the Holy Grail Corvettes 71 period Well open the door we did show this
a little bit earlier but you got the 454 4 in a corner horse plate right here the center
console and again the 6500 tack now here's the kicker this will take every naysayer and da on
the planet completely out of the picture here's your door bin decal also some people call
that the door warranty tag it is original this number right here 1971 which is a VIN was
actually scanned across the top of the protector plate
every now and then it was a little bit off
and thank goodness this one was here's why see right here CPW Charlie Paul William that is
only a 454 425 horse LS6 so stay tuned we'll going give you an update on this car hopefully
the next 3 or 4 weeks I sure want to drive it I thought that was important to show I'm sorry
I didn't show it when we were there I was too excited as always please like tag share and follow and most importantly subscribe to
our YouTube channel see you next week

As a NCRS member, I say this car deserves a nut & bolt premium resto to bring it back to its original glory!
Thanks Dennis and crew. You all rock seriously big time. We appreciate all of you
DC is such a gentleman, he's even kind to phone scammers. This guy and his team are a class act.
Just wow. An unrestored factory correct LS-6 Corvette, with an M-22 no less. Last of the real blood & guts 1960's school of performance V8 engines. Last of the solid lifter big block Corvette engines and the last factory aluminum head Corvette until the mid 1980's. This car so encapsulates the winds of change going on in the automotive performance landscape in 1971. Serious all out performance, yet mildly handicapped by the GM mandated lower compression to allow use of unleaded/low lead fuel in the coming years. A competition level Corvette, yet still required to be streetable (unlike the L-88) with a carburetor choke, fan shroud, and with available power steering and even AM/FM radio if you wanted it. Thanks so much for sharing this historical car on your channel.
I would be grateful to see the LS6 after its been restored. Kindly post restoration on you tube. I am very happy for you
A lot of people use the term "Holy Grail" too loosely. I believe you have found one here. Congratulations!
Dennis Collins is such a class act. A genuine nice guy. I enjoy his videos. Thanks Dennis!
The proportions on this vette are awesome, such a strong looking car. Hope it gets fully restored.
A special thanks for the "update" at the end with all the numbers and explanations!! What a car and so glad that you have bought this. Looking forward to more coverage when you and your crew get into this car.
That is a great car and you found it in my backyard! Dutch's Daughter is a fantastic restaurant, my family has eaten there since late 80's. Yes, those wiper doors are a pain to get synchronized, I have a 69 and can attest. Can't wait to see it running.
Congratulations Dennis! You bought the Corvette that I tried to purchase in 1989 from Mr. Winpigler, the original owner! My dad was friends with his brother, and I went to Frederick High School and church with his niece. This LS6 Corvette is THE REAL DEAL!! I spoke at length with the owner back then, and he told me he purchased it new from the Chevy dealership in Union Bridge MD. I remember him telling me about having to have the block replaced under warranty due to it being cracked. Although I offered him a lot of cash back in 1989, he wouldn't part with it. This Corvette sat outside uncovered and unprotected for many years on a lot off of 4th street in Frederick City, which the owner used for his family's excavating business. I knew it was super rare and worried it would be stolen since it was in a desolate part of town back then. I am happy for you, but envious and sad that it's gone from my home town!! Also, what a shame they cut the pipes and dropped the tank to get the tank sticker and almost ruined it.
As Youtube commercials go, yours is 100% the best and most professionally sounding one ever. By that, I mean it made me actually replay it and think about buying your VPN thing.
I grew up and currently live near Frederick MD. Dutch’s Daughter is a top notch restaurant. Glad you went there for lunch and shared their history.
As a history buff and lover of antiques love the video @ 22:52 of this restaurant interior OUTSTANDING 😊 😊 love how Dennis is genuinely interested in this restaurant and this lady story 👍
Dennis and his crew always so respectful and kind such a breath of fresh air thanks for the content
Wow. Love this stuff. Thanks guys for the enjoyment.
GREAT Find ! People have been hunting LS6 cars since the late 70's. I do wish I had saved some of my old Hemmings from that period. Love Your Work, Sir and Your Team is always impressive.
Dennis its pretty obvious how you found it. But that doesnt diminish you buying a real "holy grail" 'vette. Id never heard of a ls6 before. Finding and buying this car is nothing short of a small miracle. You, regularly find these types of special cars. I wish Id have paid more attention when old timers were trying to tell me about these cars. Thank you for your wealth of information. Fast n Loud wasnt what Id call a real car show. Discovery shouldve been looking for someone with your knowledge to actually teach us about these cars. Richard is all about a quick buck. But its always fun to watch your videos. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Wow i lived 30 miles from there my whole life been to local cars shows in the area for almost 40 years and have never heard even a whisper about that car awesome
