t the office of the lawsuits lead lawyer attorney AAR mazari so we received thousands of calls within a span of two weeks thousands mizari accuses LG of fraud she says the company has known for years that refrigerators with a linear compressor regularly die young but it sold them anyway anyway Missi says a trial would force LG to make public any internal communication that might reveal what it knows LG has not yet directly responded to mizar's allegations in court instead it's trying to take the
dispute behind closed doors and it's pointing to the box I never seen the Box LG says it put an arbitration notice on the box it's asking a federal judge to require individual fridge owners to move their case to arbitration in private but owners we interviewed say they never saw the Box because delivery people unboxed their fridge the Box they in the truck same for seil I did not even see the Box Betsy too no one we talked to ever saw the Box besides the arbitration notice on the box LG says it

Grandpas fridge: running for 50 years your new fridge: broken

@oprecourt

My LG’s compressor died 6 months outside the warranty. $950 for the parts, $1k for labor. The fridge was $2k. The sad part is, my grandparents died with the same refrigerator that my dad grew up with

@CurveTheRain

LG: we tried to warn you our products are shit, it was on the box 🙄

@travelchoice89

Seriously?! 😡 LG's response to fridge failures is unacceptable! Pointing to a cardboard box as a solution? That's cold... ❄

Our Kenmore (made by LG) refrigerator stopped working after an electrical outage. I found out this can be caused by a bad motherboard. I removed the motherboard and read online that most techs just replace the board to the tune of $300 or $400. What I discovered was that there is a soldered in fuse which is then not easily consumer replaceable. It's the same style and amperage as a common microwave fuse, which I had several of. I also happened to have a fuse holder of the appropriate size. So on a Sunday afternoon I carefully desoldered the factory fuse and soldered on the holder and installed a new fuse. This is a $900 refrigerator and I wonder how many end up in the land fill because people don't want to spend $400 to fix a used $900 appliance...when all it really needs is a $1 fuse? The fuse did it's job protecting the appliance, but really should be consumer replaceable.

In 2002 when there was a Sears in every town, one of their commissioned salesmen warned us to stay away from LG appliances. He warned they were rubbish and you couldn't get parts. We bought a Kenmore made by Whirlpool that is still running today.

@BrianHSC

This reminds me of a lady who sued a software company because she didn't agree with the agreement that pops up during install. She tried to get it refunded and denied. She sued them because the notice appears after the purchase. Never heard about the result of the case tho.

@JesbaamSanchez

When corporates get this level of greed and controlling, when it is time for someone or a team to compete against these corporation giants

@rflores1456

This is the reporting we need!!!

@wwbcwp

My parents got this fridge two years ago and this summer the linear compressor failed and they spent July through September without a working fridge and had to buy a second one while they waited for LG to fix this. Insane.

@JaapVanderHorst

In Europe arbitration notice is illegal and thus null and void, and putting it on a box is also not legal for companies. Stupid that it even could be legal in the US at all.

@lawfulmasses

Companies that gaslight consumers, who face legit problems with their products, should be forced to pay for the actual damages done to the whole Class, plus punitive damages for the assault on consumers' mental health for corporate benefit.

@selenacordeiro1458

Me and my husband bought a fridge and within the first year it conked out, we had it repaired for free and within 2 yrs it broke again. My husband took it apart, YouTube’d the issue, rebuilt it with better parts because the original parts were pieces of cheap flimsy trash. And it’s been running perfectly for the last 10 years. It’s still in great shape inside and out thank goodness🤞

@Saki630

I know someone with a dying LG refrigerator that is being replaced after just four years. I bought my own Whirlpool brand in 2018 that is much larger and has not had any issues. Back then all the reports and reviews show how bad LG and Samsung appliances are, and that now Past Quality Brands are now owned by companies using the brand to sell off cheap faulty products. Its very hard to filter out this information and spend your money on quality products like Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Maytag, ect.

@christerpedersen5436

In Norway we have 5 year warranty on most items included appliances by law. The seller has to fix the issue free of charge, in a reasonable time without hassle for the consumer. If the time to repair exceeds 1 week you are entitled to a lender product. The seller has 2 trys to fix the same issue. If not successful, the buyer has the right to get a new item or return the item free of charge up to five years after purchase. This funnels out junk products as the stores and manufactorer takes a loss selling them. I can't imagine having it any other way.

@travisminneapolis

my friend has had MULTIPLE fridge failures in less than 5 years.

@rungsarnsuthithanin8415

I had the the same problem with samsung fridge about 9 yrs ago. The compressor stopped working twice within 11 months span from the time I had purchased it, brand new from Lowe. After the second repair I went to Lowe and raised my concern with them. Luckily Lowe handled the case at the counter swiftly and I had gone back to whirlpool. Granted, it may not be as nice as Viking or Subzero but it has been working flawless since then. I learned since then, for the kitchen stuffs I stay with the american brand no matter what.

@travisminneapolis

By the time you purchased a fridge, getting a notice on the fridge box has got to be a joke.

@takamadson

The box probably lasts longer as a roof over ones head than the actual refrigerator 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@RaDiCSpHeRe

Bought an LG fridge for like $3000, 3 yrs in, the water & ice dispenser was faulty and sometimes wouldn't stop dispensing. Called LG and they sent repairmen who charged $100 in labor, the issue was a single screw was rusty, but they don't have such a replacement screw and gave me only 2 options: 1. He will tighten & loosen the same screw to let it work for abit longer (i choose this option) 2. I buy a whole new front panel which cost around $2000 for parts and labor (he told me im better off buying a new fridge) Frankly, I'm really regretting buying this LG fridge just because it was on sale with a big discount (it's $3k after discounr). Now seeing this video, definitely ban LG on my replacement fridge purchase.
