Yes! You came! You're here to practice your English! In today's English news lesson you're going to learn what happens when you push this red button! Let's get started. First, we'll do a 10 second listening challenge. Listen carefully. Ready? TikTok influencer Syd Gnome went into a convenience store toilet and saw something unusual on the wall. It was a big red button with a warning not to push it. Question: Where was the big red button? And the answer is... It was on the wall in a convenience s
tore toilet. Did you get it? Now shadow my voice and choose the missing word. Ready? Syd was driving along when she noticed her car was running low on... She saw a Hop Shop's plaza and decided to pull into the gas station. What do you think? She was running low on gas, she was running low on coffee, or she was running low on crisps? And the answer is... gas! That's right. Shadow my voice again and this time answer the question. The Hop Shops plaza had a frog-themed gas station, convenience store
, restaurant and bank. Syd decided to go into the convenience store to use the bathroom. Question: What wasn't in the plaza? a) a bank, b) a restaurant, or c) a police station? And the answer is C! Quiz 4: True or False? To her surprise, she saw a sign on the bathroom wall saying, "Do not push this red button." a) the sign was in the gas station. True or false? False. It was in the convenience store bathroom. b) It said, "Push the button." False! It said do NOT push the ... the red button. And c
) Syd needed to use the bathroom. True. Yes, that's right. Now let's label these pictures. Out of curiosity, she pressed the button and was blown away! Three words, curiosity, pressed and blown away. That's two words. Which is A? Which is B? And which is C? What do you think? I'll tell you. a) is pressed. Yeah? b) is blown away, and c) is curiosity. Did you get those right? Now it's time for another listening exercise. Ready? The lights turned off, a shiny disco ball came down from the ceiling,
and music started playing. She couldn't believe it! The bathroom had turned into a dance party! Question: What came down from the ceiling? And the answer is... a shiny disco ball! Let's match up some more pictures. Syd quickly grabbed her phone and started filming the scene for TikTok. Grabbed, filming and scene. Which picture matches those words? Well, a) is scene b) is grabbed and c) is filming. Did you know those? Quiz 8: Predict the future! What do you think happened next? a) Syd's video wen
t viral with over 8 million views, b) She forgot to use the bathroom, or c) The disco ball fell on her head? So I think you know the answer is (a), Syd's video went viral, it spread very quickly on the internet, and was seen over 8 million times. Let's try a conversation. Please shadow my voice. No, no, no! I see you sitting there, relaxing, maybe you're having a drink or eating a snack. No! I need you to start speaking English! Okay? Pinky promise? Let's do it. Are you going to the toilet? Yeah
, why? Do you need to go, too? No, I just went. but you should be careful. How come? Let me guess, the a) toilet's blocked? b) lock's broken? c) cleaner's in there? No, but there's a button on the wall. A button? What does it do? I'm not saying. That's for you to find out! Alright. Pick one, A, B or C and let's listen to the audio. Are you going to the toilet? Yeah, why? Do you need to go, too? No, I just went, but you should be careful. How come? Let me guess, the lock's broken? No, but there's
a button on the wall. A button? What does it do? I'm not saying. That's for you to find out! Are you going to the toilet? Yeah, why? Do you need to go, too? No, I just went, but you should be careful. How come? Let me guess, the lock's broken? No, but there's a button on the wall. A button? What does it do? I'm not saying. That's for you to find out! So, the answer was (b), the lock's broken. Did you get that? Now, what about you? If you were Syd, what would you have done? a) I wouldn't have pu
shed the button, b) I would have run out of the bathroom, c) I would have ignored the lights and music, or d) I would've started dancing! Let me know in the comments! Thanks for watching!

This video is very fun and useful. I am very curious about the teacher's pronunciation in Quiz 10. The pronunciation of "have" in "I would have" and "I wouldn't have" is difficult for Japanese people.
