location for the Glendale branch of the Indianapolis Public Library is now open it is at the former John strange Elementary School it's on e62nd Street the Glendale branch has the second largest collection of physical materials after the Central Library down town it includes titles in Spanish French Korean as well as Braille a braille collection transforming a school into a library felt like a natural fit for Washington Township Schools and the library staff we could know that a school was going
away but we were still using this space as a place of learning where people could gather and read books and what about books in a day and age when our children have their faces and their phones and their tablets to see that people still want to turn pages yesterday's grand opening included a community celebration with live music and the pause to read dogs
