'God is in control': Rev. Franklin Graham reveals Easter message

scary world and it was scary uh in the Vatican yesterday when we got word that Pope Francis uh was going to stay in the Vatican he wasn't going to go to the Coliseum in Rome uh for this annual Good Friday event write a passage for for popes and for Catholics and certainly an Italy one of the the biggest events of Holy Week and certainly uh Easter weekend he does plan that is the pope to celebrate Mass uh so that is still on but had a lot of folks worried I believe he's 86 years Young but he's as

strong and as uh vibrant as you can get but he just wanted to sort of rest out for the big big event uh it is a big time it is a big moment and for the world it's a big time to come together Reverend Franklin Graham Samaritan's first president hosting an Easter special from Israel on Fox news tomorrow uh at noon but you can catch it pretty much everywhere because it's well he's doing it and it gets people's attention Reverend good to see you happy Easter oh Happ e to you Neil thank you tell us

a little bit I mean I was thinking you ahead of this visit when we would chat I always enjoy them and I'm thinking of the passing of people like Joe liberman uh who who just tried to exhibit class and Rising above the fry uh and then it's the same week we see this ship accident in Baltimore same time we have you know people at each other's throats in politics uh to say nothing of a war that drags on in Ukraine lot of scary things how do you calm people down Reverend well first of all uh God uh G

od's in control uh Neil and when you see these uh these dangerous things that have happened uh Joe liberman's death we see the war in Ukraine uh all of this stuff is uh shows you that the world is broken and the only hope is almighty God and so I prayed for the Pope I pray for Joe liberman's family uh that God would uh watch over them uh and comfort them but yet we all are going to have to stand before God and this is what Easter's all about uh Neil is is God loving this world sending his son Je

sus Christ to die and to shed his blood for our sins and he was buried uh for our sins he took our sins to the grave but on the third day God raised him to life and so we celebrate Our Risen Savior and we thank God for this opport opportunity to be able to share that with people around the world on Easter you devoted your life to that it's very impressive Reverend but I'm wondering even you such a you know a decent human being a man of God a man of faith and you're looking at at at a world that

increasingly is not that way and it's not just among Christians it's that church attendance is down mosque attendance down we're seeing it among our Jewish friends and colleagues that that that religion is not as important in their lives what do you make of them well I think that the Bible shows this uh there will be a falling away as we get closer to the end of time and and and that's that's what we're seeing we're seeing a falling away people are turning their back on God uh they're trusting i

n their own strength they're trusting in their own ability uh they're trusting in their own finances but uh Neil uh the only hope is God and his son Jesus Christ I have no no faith in our politicians there's not a politician out there that's going to save us only God can save us and that's through his son Jesus Christ so I I hope this Easter uh people will look to God to his son and put their faith and trust in him so Franklin when you do see people who handle a world like this and look at a war

that drags on in Israel tens of thousands dead now um in Ukraine uh we don't even know how many dead now uh and a lot of people snap back and say where's where's God what what is he doing what what help us here what do you what do you say well I think every war people have asked the same question but war is caused by sin and sin is of Disobedience to God and when the first man Adam disobeyed God sin came into the world it infected the entire world it's a it's a disease of the human soul and tha

t's why Christ came and that was to save us from our sins so war is is just it's evident of sin in the world and so we see sin everywhere we turn we see uh the results of sin and that's why we need God and that's why we need to put our faith and trust in him and him alone do you think that's going to happen well again I hope I hope this this this this Easter uh people will turn to God and this special that we have with Michael W Smith went with me to Israel we filmed this uh back a few months ag
