[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey zville welcome back to Gonzaga University founded in 1887 and man can they play basketball welcome to the McCarthy athletic center number 24 Gonzaga now 10 and four on this season and they welcome in the terreros of the University of San Diego game number two now on the West Coast conference schedule great to see everyone again Greg heyer and Richard Fox welcome Courtside all right Gonzaga defense it reemerged on Thursday yeah look to start the y
ear that the early return was you know this could be a really dominant team defensively and we saw the full force of that on this end of the floor the waves just never got comfortable this is a a team in peeron had the top two scores and and aay and Mallette struggle throughout the night you had POR in the mix those three collectively even though they got 35 shot 22% from the field you see the waves 33% on the game just never could get themselves into a rhythm gona not only that but they convert
ed a lot of those turnover stops into transition 14 points in transition for GU on the night now look when Graham eek was signed by Gonzaga I think a lot of zag fans they didn't really understand from Wyoming they didn't know much about it they know about him now yeah a it's one thing to see with a guy stat line where he was before it's a whole other thing to see a guy up close in personal it's taking a minute but gram M sure seems like he's gotten comfortable in his Zach Jersey 20 points eight
of 10 from the field against pepperine seven rebounds and you know what I find really impressive is the fact he's shooting 75% from the free throw line he gets fouled a ton and you the waves elected not to double him I'd expect that to change if you get into conference play but quite frankly I'm not sure there's anybody in the league that has an answer for gram eek inside and back to gonzaga's defense they've got to keep an eye on Duce turner He's been at a different level lately for us yeah may
be as Dynamic a guard in in conference uh that g is going to run up against 34 points against St Mary that follows up a 25-point game against Westcliff the previous game and you just see what he can do he's a dynamic guard four of seven from the three-point line but more importantly for San Diego he can create his own offense when things bog down he's capable of getting hot it's important tonight for San Diego that he gets going early okay ladies and gentlemen it is is the second game of this br
and new season for the zags the West Coast conference schedule is off and running the terreros of San Diego in town tonight starting lineups and that tip off when we come [Applause] [Music] back and welcome back to Spokan you can see the skyline there with some fog above it beautiful night in the Inland Northwest beautiful night for college basketball as well as kaga will try to earn their 11th victory of the Season here tonight they take on the terreros of USD Kevin Patton Duce Turner lunga Hay
es Jamerson this is a USD team that is 10 and six on the year but they've got an illness that has gone through the team we'll talk about that several of their players not in attendance tonight nard Stromer Hickman EK and Anton Watson get get the start again for Gonzaga those are tonight's start on lineups brought to you by new America Credit Union now this is also an interesting story zags wearing throwback jerseys throwback all the way back to 1999 that first year where they made it all the way
to the Elite 8 with names like Sant Angelo and Calvary and fromom and you can see it they've been honoring that team this week it is the 25th anniversary now of that original Elite 18 here at gon so those uniforms are spectacular and can't wait to see him in action here tonight all right here's tonight's keys to the game brought to you by Northern Quest Resort and Casino Richard Fox I'm to be Captain Obvious is my first one for Gonzaga inside out that shot 62% inside the arc against pepperine o
n Thursday they have that Advantage every night in conference play Simple rather less is more Gonzaga 14 turnovers nine of those in the second half against pepperine they really valued it well in the first half got a little loose in the second they've got a dial that and keep working on that then for pepperine they need a fast start this is a really young team first time in this type of environment they need a good start you talked about it Greg a lot of uh some sickness here tonight for them an
d then finally take care of the ball against St Mary's 19 turnovers the gals at 27 points off those turnovers yeah I think eight of the players for USD not in attendance tonight including one of their starters Wayne McKinny at 14.4 points a game all right we're underway courts side at the McCarthy Athletics Center they go to the Post Anton Watson an opening flush zaga up to zip and the zags have won the last 16 and 22 and2 at home against the terreros Richard the last time USD won in Spokan to g
o back to the year 2000 so you're saying it's been a while it's it's been a while this is lunga number seven nart guarding and now Turner and Hayes again that Zack defense dialed up early they got him trapped in the corner and the shot clock violation the first turnover Gonzaga ball there is Steve Lavin in his second season at USD and of course this is a a familiar name in the ranks of college basketball really a legendary kind of guy former head coach at UCLA and St John's but also worked in th
e television industry forever yeah a lot of folks know him probably more from television but if you remember his time at UCLA I mean a lot of success there and again Gonzaga off to a fast start offensively Hickman to Watson again backto back possessions lunga lost the ball picked up by Hickman up to Stromer the catch can he finish lot contact there no whistle and USD takes it right back that was Steven Jamerson number 24 with it they go to the Post Watson trying to front it Jamerson with it Stev
en short jump shot rise and drop at 610 good shot a tough shot 610 210 doesn't score a ton for the terreros don't take anything to get from him up front Stromer open three and I tell you what they hit eight threes I think they were eight of 19 on Thursday night against pepper nine that's a good sign Richard I mean I think for those around the program I mean that there's real frustration about how they shot the ball in non-conference but look you've got too much talent these guys over over the co
urse of their careers have shown the ability to knock down the shot and a foul called here on the Miss by Jamerson and it's on Anton Watson so that's his first team's first another look at Dusty Stromer in the open yeah only one three knock down one of four against Pepperdine but you said it on Thursday night I think it carries over tonight it's noes he's not hesitant at all with it just confident with that jump shot and the feet are set the catch happens balls in the air it's it's rhythmic it's
musical like it's it's a type it's a type of look you're getting it's a catch and shoot three I think at times you know nart can fall into this part of it is he has the ball late in the clock is trying to get those threes off off the dribble that's a totally different type of shot than just a catch and [Applause] shoot 73 Gonzaga here's Hickman the lob to the rim e the catch can't finish cleared by Kevin Patton [Music] there's Duce Turner number four great job by Patton to keep the possession a
live got the dribble down just in time and connects well interesting here for as you see foul inside here than Jameson you know but lunga and padon are both super talented freshman padon 68 lunga 66 but you're playing with freshman you've seen it early lunga with the turnover right there nearly nearly the turnover for padon so you know the part of the growing pains I think for Steve Lavin and his staff is just they've been they've been searching for a lineup searching for some consistency they'v
e really had to change things up throughout the year and there's the Freshman a lot of young players playing well for Steve Leavin interesting on the floor right now so the foul was called on Jamerson but he went to the bench holding his head so I think they're actually over looking now to see if EK caught him with an elbow but back to the Freshman story a lot of young players Steve Lavin he knows that he's building this thing from the ground up starting young well look this is a a a program the
y've had seven different starting lineups and remarkably 12 different starting lineups from the second half as we see you know EK the the fouls initially from Jameson kind of grabbing him on his back and he just trying to get position it's inadvertent I I don't think this is intentional at all but unfortunately the rule these days is intent does not matter so I I'd expect this to uh for E to get rung up here with the foul do you think that was a foul on chamers it does I do on the defender initi
ally but unfortunately it e makes contact with him in the head with the elbow intent does not matter even though that's a basketball play you're trying to you know get wide make yourself available for the pass that contact I presume is going to lead to a flagrant here the officials are Greg Nixon Crystal Hogan and Tim Maran I I'll be honest with you I have no idea anymore do you that's why that's why I asked I didn't think I I personally didn't think Jamerson really filed Graham and it looked li
ke Graham threw that arm up and connected in the forehead so and it's not a flagrant it's not a flagrant he so nothing other than the common file against Jamerson and Steve Lavin wanting a discussion there with Greg Nixon here's Hickman from the Corner left that short and back come to terreros they need to get something out of their offense on this possession here's Deuce Jamerson shoot it from the elbow right back to the free throw line down the lane EK I believe got a hand on it but Jamerson t
here to finish Hayes missed initially because of the defense well hay with the Drive forces EK to come over and help and opens up the uh offensive rebound there for Jameson and another foul against the terreros we'll see here you no screen there EK has to help clear path to the front of the rim there for Jamerson that foul called on Hayes is first that's two now on San Diego that's a legal play Stromer runs it down now hard back to Dusty Pikman that's an open three bingo San Diego's dropping dow
n into his Zone and just no ball pressure with that zone so KAG is super comfortable moving the ball around and right there you've got to step out on Hickman there's Deuce Bingo rattled that one in you don't want to get him going that's the first piece of any any upset you're going to have a g on this whole floor You' got a guy and go get his own and de turer can do that and so can Graham e oh the rise the touch on of big number 13 so [Music] good Gram's first field goal four zags have already s
cored Watson with four EK two Hickman three and Stromer with three here's Duce again now a step back a little long nard the rebound now Ryan the push here's Anton Watson into the lane Stromer left it for e K Graham again Graham EK looking for the foul doesn't get [Applause] it [Applause] 1410 Hayes good catch by Jamerson one-on-one with Watson turn around missed it that's off of Stromer it'll be USD basketball when we come back Gonzaga off to a six of nine start offensively and this beauty from
Nolan Hickman from downtown but look you don't want dece Turner to get it going the Junior from Coatsville Pennsylvania his first bucket 1410 in smok hands here's tonight's Arby's tan trivia question brought to you by Arby's your delicious neighborhood meatcrafter stopped by Arby's today we have the meats in the past decade which gonz bulldog has scored the most points against San Diego aim mura Timmy or Perkins well you Perkins throws me off because Perkins and Timmy both played more games agai
nst USD than you than R but Drew's obviously he was a decent scorer too so Drew timy was a decent scorer yeah he was really good but look A J like Perkins talk about a guy that that just wasn't loved and appreciated enough he was awfully good man he was good think about all the big games he played in gave up the ball and Nigel came there's Deuce all right five on the shot clock Hayes lines up the three hits it over Anton Watson 14-1 and this is the start we were talking about as a key for San Di
ego now five of eight two of two from the three-point line they have come in and felt very comfortable here to start they really found their footing Evan Dy a senior from Phoenix on the floor for USD as Anton Watson battles to keep the possession Stromer turned down the three will feed the post EK going to work falling away and he'll shoot free throws foul on Jimmy oakin a freshman from Los Angeles California that's his first and that is three team fouls on San Diego gram E K well I mean he's ju
st it's hard to poke a hole in the impact that he's had he rebounds it great on the offensive glass over three a game he's efficient makes his free throws up despite the Miss there and just a great teammate yeah yeah he's a Zagg Anton Watson out of the game Ben Greg is first moments EK missed them both so it remains 1413 who's turner oh Ben Greg Off the Bench the steel and the twohand [Applause] jam well that's what you expect from Ben comes in the game immediate impact last eight games Greg he'
s averaging nine points and five rebounds and he shoots it at a high clip 56% I mean he just comes in and makes impactful meaningful plays for GU man they need that too shot way off EK and now nard Ben Greg here's strowman gra watch these moves oh picked up the dribble nice reset good defense them hard to the corner Hickman the three Nolan Hickman with composure after all that great defense from San Diego DK cannot get where he want to and you get up to three in the corner that's brutal if you'r
e the Terrero but you'd like the overall possession you just got to maintain that intensity that discipline defensively Hickman now two of three from behind that line to begin and there's a foul called by or on Dusty Stromer another look at Ben gri when you come right off the bench and you do this you earn minutes well it's interesting that tonight he's first big Off the Bench it has been Huff nearly all year and I think part of this is just when Greg comes in he has an impact right away and you
talked about it earlier Perkins being comfortable in big games Ben Greg's been here long enough he's played a lot of big games and another takeaway here's Stromer on the move through Hayes and the lay in count it chancef for three for Dusty [Applause] Stromer he's Fearless he's Fearless he goes to the he reminds me of Blake stepping that way goes to the rim well you like just the kind of Step through there sees the defense coming it's been a nice approach tonight from Dusty just you know within
the flow of the game but searching for his offense you know just six points against pepperine and one of four but you know he rebounds the ball and now I believe they're saying it's going to be on the FL interesting okay they take the bucket away and not even a free throw Hickman off the inbound a breakdown by the terreros there can't give that up know just a total mental breakdown there coach F still over there talking to the official about the call certainly looked like that should have count
ed anyways I love to see Stromer go to the rim like that there's a wild pass turn over on dragos lunga sags on an 11 to3 run and three turnovers now last four possessions for USD and Gonzaga now leads at 2113 their nine of 13 from the floor at 69% the begin stobber nard listen Ryan nar's not taking a shot yet he's got four assists well you saw that against good pepperine seven assists only the two turnovers we have another turnover from San Diego look we talked about it Greg at the open yeah the
y've got to take care of the ball to San Diego it really gave him 27 points off turnovers against St Mary's it's not been much better tonight as you see just the read there n hard's so good at waiting to let the big get there I mean think about how many buckets typically eek and huff have gotten this Sho where all they got to do is catch it and [Music] shoot Ben Greg pu wanting it but a long way away from the bucket nard to the corner Hickman again that one short and the deflection on a play off
of a Terrero it'll be guns Haag a ball 20 on the shot clock there's Nolan Hickman he's been aggressive offensively to begin tonight three of six overall well this Falls up a four five from the three-point line for Nolan on Thursday night now shooting 38% from three coming into tonight nard Hickman NL in a spin Ben Greg turned down the three drive on Hayes step through off the glass too hard and the Miss cleared by Jamerson longa too hard t quick Outlet nard he'll leave it for Hickman and he tra
vel turnover number three on Gonzaga but they lead it by 10 1139 to play in the opening half back in a [Music] moment well let's take a look at tonight's Arby Arby trivia answer in the past DEC which g g bulldog has had scored the most points against San Diego that be Drew Timmy GRE is just having a moment there with your one of your old Partners well like three of the old zags came over and they wanted to say hi to both of us but you kind of SN there there we go there's brown cat Jeff Brown yea
h what a what a week it's been I know uh a little awkward awkward Knuckles there it's all good it's been a great week seeing all those guys back in town and uh yeah and of course Jeff Brown was he the first transfer from the University of Washington I believe he was I believe he was and what a career he had here had some good ones come from you D and he used to call these games with me back in the day here's Ben Greg and free throws coming okay you already took care of the Arby's fan trivia ques
tion answer okay good back and it was Drew of course some suspense when we first read that question but I thought we did a good job selling it trying to create some confusion some drama yeah all right Ben Big Ben Greg three steals already [Applause] tonight well 1520 so almost four minutes since the last time that USD scored a field goal kaga now up 25 to 13 zags on an 110 runy and just to put a cap on the 99 story I know my buddy Woody who's uh watching the game tonight with another buddy actua
lly designed that logo for the 99 really zag team yeah and I know Wy we we love you buddy we're thinking about you go [Applause] zags here's Huff raen Huff off the front of the rim junor battling for the rebound boy you got to love that Hayes picked it up and back come to terreros Turner into the corner three on the way that one's off from Patton offensive rebound another a chance duth Turner from downtown that one's off Ben Greg clears [Applause] it nard so his first shot of the game will come
from the free throw line nearly 10 minutes into the game but he's had an impact four assists no turnovers and what you love about his game is his ability to play Fast he can push the ball up the floor in a way that we just haven't seen a lot of here at Gonzaga at time times what you want to see from him is just to re reel that back a little bit so you know you're not in fifth gear the whole time play in third some fourth I think he's gotten better at that as the years progressed and and Thursday
night was a great example of that generally speaking he took the plays that were available to him and he had a great night taking care of the ball nard his first point he's got two now and four assists in all Gonzaga has seven assists under their 10 field goals kind of a trademark at this program when you play Gonzaga you you don't have to beat a player you got to beat this team do skip to the corner Hayes looked at his feet and launches the three and connects good things happen when dece has t
he ball neard here's Juno into the lane under 10 to go and Hayes has scored the last eight points for USD I think they need to start feeding him and Ben Greg from downtown he's got seven I love the fact Huff gave up that that three he took one earlier The Possession PRI uh with 17 seconds left on the shot clock not a good shot that's something he can find later in the clock move the ball right there gives up the same shot finds Greg for the wide open three dece Turner lard had always up there's
always a a play ahead of everybody he's like a good quarterback that leads a wide receiver to an open area with the pass Hickman and the Miss cleared by Jamerson who you got Monday night Richard Huskies you a Washington guy through and through you're going with the wolver reings of Michigan no oh Braden Huff met Turner at The Rim sent it back and them hard with the left hand at the other end and and a timeout is called by Steve Lavin and the San Diego [Applause] terreros well here's the block Hu
ff has shown a knack for this that Lefty comes up and then in transition another easy two points for Gonzaga I mean this is what makes Gonzaga so unique is their ability to transition from the defensive end of the floor to the offensive side of even on makes but particularly off of steals uh in those block shots they're as good as anybody your question I'm going to go with you dub for no other reason that I just rather see them win what do you think you know football better than anybody I know t
hree yards and a cloud of dust baby means nothing to me as we see the standings here in the West Coast Conference San Francisco great start 12 and four it's going to be interesting to see I think those are the uh four teams there at the top right now that are are going to be vying for a championship this year just at a at a different level than uh those bottom five teams yeah Zach's 10ed four listen I I get it I'm a Cheerleader but what I saw Thursday night against Pepperdine what I've seen so f
ar tonight against USD I I don't think we we have not seen the limits of the zag program this team I'm talking about this year and I think flying under the radar and the fact that they're wearing those 99 uniforms and that can give them a chip on their shoulder and play shocker I like the way this is setting up to be honest look we talk about it every year it's where are they going to be come March and you want to stay healthy a uh and B you just want to get better and this team still I think ha
s they have they're not anywhere near their ceiling as themar just the quick decisive drive off the left side there and now Ryan starting to get going with the with the scoring it was just a moment ago he said he hadn't taken a shot now he's got six points to go with those four assists and a great save there great feed to the post EK strong enough to get it through Hayes Graham now a [Applause] six Ryan nard is really something to watch in the open floor he's so explosive and the ball just goes
from one end to another EK almost got himself a run out great back door cut great feed there foul on nard three-point play opportunity coming for Steven [Music] Jamerson e tough 2736 to play in the first half Greg heer Richard Fox Gonzaga coverage of this game brought to you by premiera proud partner of the Gonzaga Bulldogs look you want to make an impact come off the bench and in just under 6 minutes come up with three Steals and have seven points that's what Ben Greg has done and really this i
s the steal that started ignited this run for Gonzaga 22 to5 run now since the 1520 Mark for the zags and it was interesting you started the broadcast tonight talking about defense and there it is again and defense wins Richard and it it also covers up a lot of other deficiencies if you can defend yep you can win and I don't think this team defended San Diego State the University of Washington the same way that they defended Syracuse or UCLA or those games early in the season I think what we've
seen the last few nights we're starting to see this team high in again at that end it's it's a the energy level that they're playing with B how physical they've been but quite frankly it's just they seem really connected on that end of the floor we're seeing a lot less blow buys a lot less uh breakdowns defensively you know leading to easy looks for the opposition Watson the E off balance scores the bucket a chance for three for GR let's see how the ball just moved the ball's not sticking anywhe
re guys making quick decisions with the ball right there it's quick Hickman you quick swing here from nard quick to the top of the key against and then just the immediate drop down to EK even if you want to double him you don't have the time just beautiful ball movement for Gonzaga really difficult to defend that and you talked about Graham in the open as well tonight I think the one fact and factor that we don't talk about enough he didn't play basketball for better than an entire calendar year
when he got here late this summer to play for Gonzaga it was really about getting back into basketball shape finding your confidence your Rhythm all of those things that you know about and I have no clue about but we're see whatever those things are those intangible things I think we're starting to see it evolve for gramy yeah I mean and it's not just the adjustment like I'm back on the floor I've got to get my rhythm and comfortable but I'm I'm at a new place you know they play differently tha
n when I'm accustomed to I've got a fit and you can tell he's worked hard to fit into what it is Gonzaga is trying to do schematically and he's a beast right now nine points four rebounds Ben Greg top of the key3 and the battle for the rebound results in a foul and I believe it's on Jimmy oh it's on Graham eek all right so EK picks up his first that's four on Gaga playing the point right now Devin dely number 11 Stromer giving him a hard [Music] time there's Turner dely to three is good good loo
k Devin dely USD now four of seven from behind three e shot was blocked by Olin dokey there just steps into it knocks down you didn't score against St Mar's doesn't do a lot offensively for the Terrero just two points a game but does shoot the ball well 39% on the year Anton Wat on the ball PJ Hayes trying to create space but not much there this is Duce Turner against Ben Greg delki eight on the shot clock Patton got into the paint and threw a fast ball off the glass I'm sure he called it oh EK
what a seal What A Catch and finish that's great and the pass from Watson my goodness three assist now for Anton from the corner a heath and BJ Hayes not close on that one jump ball is called and they give it to USD I mean look how deep he is both feet and look at the pass from Watson just on the money and then nice little crafty adjustment there from Ek but those soft hands too right like EK doesn't miss passes So Soft on the rim to to right that's a great combination when you're built like him
and you play a power game but to have those hands have the touch the ability to catch and Ben Greg picked up the personal fouls he doesn't like it no that's on Graham eek I think wasn't it oh it's on Nolan Hickman yes all right Nolan [Applause] Hickman that is five team fouls now on Gonzaga and the First on Nolan Hickman Turner with his fourth Point Turner just one of five from the field he's done a nice job on drill penetration couple of assists but just has not been able to find easy looks on
the offensive end had a nice job making him making his life difficult conect on both 4127 zaga up by 14 here's Hickman strowman Anton Watson too much EK right there to clean it up he came with the right hand and looks down at it I cannot be stopped he says Graham with 13 points five rebounds and now he's talking you hear Graham out there directing traffic for the zag defense and look at the block by EK he's on another level right now Stromer the catch goes to the rim missed it Ben Greg trying t
o keep it alive back comes Turner and the lob to the rim Patton somehow got a left hand on it to connect Watson goes to the floor slow to get up for Gonzaga but how did Patton get that to go with a left hand catch unbelievable finish I couldn't believe they threw it up to him but you see all of Pat's length of 68 EK from Watson an on another assist he's got four assists yeah you see the hands again from Ek able to catch that turn into his hook as we got a technical foul here it's on somebody on
the bench at USD not Steve Lavin but somebody at the very end of the bench and so Steve Lavin getting an explanation right now but something was said from the bench another look at that catch and finish by Patton that's as good as you'll see the assist goes to dece Turner but San Diego way back the McCarthy Athletics Center 351 to play 4529 now look if you're thinking look if the zags are up by 20 at the half we're not watching anymore be careful now this is a USD team that has made a living thi
s year and coming from behind they've trailed by at least five in nine of their 10 wins and double digits in five of those games so I get it they're down by 16 that's not five that's a maybe a little bit more than that's you know double digits could mean anything well but it's possible with de Turner I was just going to say when you've got a guy like Turner who can get his own and they you San Diego tonight is shooting the ball well four of8 from the three-point line 46% overall they've competed
with Gonzaga on the glass just minus two it's the turnovers they've have eight turnovers in Gonzaga with 12 points off those turnover Gonzaga dominating inside plus 16 you expect that but San Diego's knocking out enough shots he just have to take care of the ball and Steve Lavin still talking about the technical foul that was called it wasn't an an assistant that sitting towards the end of the bench we do see it Jason keep if you've been a longtime fan of Gonzaga or USD you know you see Jason k
eep over there on the bench he was clear to indicate that it was not on him he stood up right away making sure we know yeah so Hickman will shoot the free throws and uh there's Jason keep clapping his hands and tus edney's on that bench as well well I think but Jason keep an old player like the zags the zags played against him back in the day and I remember when I I had to do that that was not fun no like that guy that was different he was really good didn't USD beat Gonzaga down in the slim gym
for the yep in the WCC championship game yeah I was there for that Richard you can't let those things happen yeah I I played an active role in making sure they won that was terrible oh the feed down low and again it's Patton with the finish at The Rim he's really good in there isn't he he is long I mean Kevin Patton Jr from Tula California now with eight points and a couple of rebounds this Zone here from San Diego gonzas had success against it but just more active here for San Diego Ben Greg H
ickman top of the key three yeah and you love the patience there Craig I mean Ben has a chance to shoot that on the left corner doesn't force it the patience against that zone leads to a great look up top for Nolan Hickman I mean Nolan is carrying over what he did on Thursday night three of six tonight after being four five and he steps in front of the pass chance to finish shot was blocked at the rim and a foul called on number 35 Keon [Applause] keny but back to Nolan in that as we take a look
at the play at The Rim you see the shot on the arm good call yeah good call there from the official and the body but Nolan in that last three caught the ball took his time took a deep bending those knees and let fly look he's seven of 11 last couple games against pepper 9 now out tonight you know he started the year off shooting the ball really well but like a lot of these guys has you know hit a rough patch from the three-point line so he's really the one guy on the perimeter that can shoot it
at a high level and that's poked Away by Hickman picked up left short by Kenzie and that's deflected out of play remains with San Diego [Music] you know coach D wants his team to finish this first half strong it's up by [Applause] 19 you don't want USD to take momentum to the locker room they get this down to 11 or 12 or 13 well they've been there before and found a way to win so you're absolutely right again Hickman right with Duke tur thanks Richard and Braden Huff on the floor to pick it up
got it to nart Ryan left it for Watson running the floor andon will shoot free throws that is a big dude going to the rim for Gonzaga well it's just how quickly Gonzaga can transition from that the defensive end to the offensive end and credit neard he gives it up you know easily could have tried to bring the ball up on his own to see Huff gets on the floor good hustle right here could n just give it up let my teammate make the play and with nard you just got to turn and Sprint you got to go rig
ht it's it's a lot like having a quarterback where just go you can't run faster than I can throw it far so just when we get the ball just go because you know he's at 100 miles hour like that well you also know he's going to give it up yeah great save by Anton everybody's okay back comes USD zags up by 20 and look at the defense to meet Kenzie but a foul is called but both Ben Greg and Braden Huff high in the air to make sure that ball never got to the ri yeah but if you're Mark F you'd love that
I mean nothing easy both those kids coming up and that's two almost Footers no foul ended up just being out of bound oh they didn't call a fou well good defense and the turnover and again n hard to Hickman null into the rim two more for Nolan he's got 15 and B Greg takes it back an offensive rebound and the put back for Ben Greg so a steel offens AB board in the bucket that's the perfect possession if you ask me Ben Greg now career high four steals here in the first half what an effort Ben Greg
stuff in the sheet there's a good bounce going for the jam but missed it was Jamerson and again Gonzaga on the move the reverse that was blocked nice play by PJ Hayes as Anton went to the opposite side of the rim and tried to whoopy do it up hey this has been fun the last few possessions isn't it just flying up and down track me Patton bounce Jamerson the catch left it short oh flying out through there to grab the loose ball was Patton K see left hand too much here's Greg now [Applause] nard Ry
an oh he had it poked Away by keny and then Ryan grabbed him by the arm and picked up his second personal foul that's six on Gonzaga 55.3 to play here let's see Ben just crafty there just and to your point you know I should I should get another rebound let me just miss the chippy tipping it it's oh it's uh it's strategic on his part timeout 55.3 to go hey look these are important stats there's niil renegotiation coming up after the season well the zags eight of 19 against Pepperdine they're five
of 10 tonight yeah you and you love the quality of the shot most of these are just catch and shoot with patience the ball's moved around it hasn't stuck anywhere guys are stepping in with confidence love Huff there giving up a quality look one more pass same thing here Greg doesn't force it that's deep in the clock 6 7 seconds left Gonzaga really trusting their offense and it's hard to guard Gonzaga that deep in the clock it's those quick shots earlier in the game Huff shoots one with 17 second
s left easily a shot you can hold off on move the ball kaga generally tonight has done a really nice job look at Ben Greg nine points on three of five four Steals and going to get in 12 minutes that would be efficient yes career high already with steel but you know Ben's been good all year he has been I mean sometimes his his stat line is a little dependent on his ability to knock down the three-point shot but the reality is his efforts there defensively he can play either as a four or five or e
ven these big lineups he does really well he just understands schematically what they want to do he doesn't put them in a bad bad spot playing with three bigs and fading away from the Baseline that's pretty play to watch du sterer if you're Gaga you you're fine with that look that's a really difficult [Applause] makeon Ben Greg fak the pass shoot the three zags now five of 11 from downtown Ben Greg earned that shot done and he can make it yeah you move the ball enough nice catch and the flush fo
r Steven Jamerson Jamerson has been great tonight only two against same same areas the other night he's been active here in the first half Hickman keeps it alive throws it up at the horn and that's how we go to the half 55 35 zags up by 20 they shot 21 of 35 60% USD 14 of 32 43.8% zags turned it over 3 times USD turned it over 13 times resulting in 19 Gonzaga points that's the difference in the game yep you got to take care of the ball against anybody but particularly a good team like Gonzaga th
ey're going to make you pay all right we're at the half Gaga up 5535 looking for their 11th win on the season back in a moment [Music] oh look at that Bo that doesn't look like Spokane look at all those looks like Vegas I'm impressed with like the moving into downtown I didn't realize uh Tom had a drone hey Tom stepping it up finally he might be a pilot he might be up there flying it well they you know they call it spoke spoke Vegas some people do hey zags played well in that first half don't yo
u don't you think they're up by 20 against USD and and we're going to talk about Graham eek we started the broadcast tonight talking about Graham eek and what he's becoming is this consistent contributor where you can almost put him in for a double double every time he plays yeah I got a feeling we're going to talk about gram M A Lot the rest of the year and we highlighted it at the open last three games averaging 20 and N in just 23 minutes a game 71% from the field and it's been the same tonig
ht 15 points he's drawn three fouls on the terreros you see his ability makes tough catches is able to finish with it's the soft hands with the Lefty 7 to 10 from the field and you know what I also like is no turnovers know early in the season he struggled with turnovers part of that is what you were talking about in the first half just that adjustment haven't been off the floor for as long as he had been he's completely comfortable at this point really doing a job a great job in all facets yeah
what's the ceiling for him Richard I mean do you see a 30-point game out of thement well if they let him play more than 22 minutes I mean that's the thing they've got such great depth up front I think part of the the plan here is just let's keep all four guys fresh they don't need him to go play 30 35 minutes although we saw that again San Diego State I think as we get into March you're going to see Graham's minutes hit the 30 plus mark But in League I mean he might just average 25 a game and s
till get you player of the year I just think he's the most dominant guy on the low block the conference has to offer and how about the case that Ben Greg has been making lately about more minutes coach I need more minutes amen amen we're at the half we're being entertained zags up by 20 Jag a halftime report is brought to you by cordelane Casino join us at calan casino for a mouthwatering steak dinner pampering spa treatment or the hottest games around cordelan Casino a proud sponsor of Gonzaga

in the open you know Gonzaga hel helds Mallet aay and Porter to 22% from the field it's spin about the same tonight that's a mirror image to the a trap Gonzaga had against pepperine van Greg's been tremendous four Steals on the night on the half eight steals for Gonzaga San Diego has turned it over 13 times that's led to 19 points for Gonzaga off those turnovers 15 of which are in transition it's just look you you said it now a couple times tonight this is the end of the floor that is probably
going to make this team special or not come March I agree you know they don't have the Firepower offensively that Gaga's had in the past but on that end of the floor they could be special and at a quick glance doesn't Ben Greg look like Mark from that 1999 team it's a little bigger but I know I hear your point just yeah a little bit all over the place just you know playing a little bigger than he bow running it out here's your numbers brought to you by cordan casino resort and hotel Zachs 60% fr
om the floor you're you're not going to lose a game if you shoot the ball that well well and you love the three-point shooting continuation from Thursday you know that's that was anything anybody that's the only thing anybody wanted to talk about heading into the new year was just can can zaga make a shot from behind the three-point line they're starting to do that now and if USD turns the ball over 13 times in any half they're going to lose every half zags up by 20 back in a [Music] moment and
well welcome back to the great city of spok can wow look at that I'm trying to visualize exactly where that is Ben Greg what a great first half I being told that was a nighttime shot of the Gonzaga law school a place you and I have never gotten close to yes well I drove by it once here's ZK 15 points seven of 10 Ben Greg nine points four Steels career high Hickman man I tell you what if Nolan continues to shoot the ball like that we're okay yeah you're you're liking where you're at of your gu ye
s all right we'll get the second half going when we come back Gonzaga [Music] USD and welcome back Greg heyer Richard Fox and we haven't talked about it but our buddy Dan dicko we've been told that the development is going well I've heard a little bit faster than Chanty expected actually yes he could be back with us soon but uh you know hope so we pray for Dan every day yeah and he'll figure it out I mean it's it's all fixable stuff actually I think Dan's down in Pullman tonight on the call on a
ESPN broadcast I don't know who the cougs are playing tonight obviously oh they're playing the University of Oregon the Ducks back door nard the catch oh great block at The Rim by Jamerson n appeared to have a laye and Jamerson took it away that shot by Hayes a quick one no [Applause] good e now it's Anton Watson down low the defense again is there for the Terrero PJ Hayes this is who usd's got to get going Tucker I mean that's just the next level play that Turner just he's just hard even when
you think you bottle him up he's just able to spin off that contact and he can make difficult shots 621 185lb Jr well look at EK the power man it he just put a shoulder into Steven Jamerson Jamon the right-handed jump hook Jameson's a big boy yeah he's going to feel that in the morning I guarantee it that's been a fun match up Jameson's really played well tonight nine points five rebounds had the block earlier a big time production from a kid that not sure the Terrero expect to have that kind of
production nightly Turner for three this is what you worry about he's he when he gets going it happens in a hurry Turner now with 12 points on four of eight shooting nard Hickman from 15 short cleared by Patton back come to [Music] Terrero and now they get delivered on offense Stromer out defending the ball Pat went right around him but missed the easy reverse Anton Watson Nolan bounce EK the catch and he was stripped on the way up Turner comes in from the weak side Turner just lost this dribbl
e right there here's nard Hickman lay in and that's that's tough if you're San Diego Turner turns it over and then you come down and give him two points in transition you start to build a little momentum in the start this half if you if you were USD Bo the catch and shoot and Deuce is loose right now 15 points Hickman wide open three Hayes clears it San Diego now with some confidence growing but can't finish was lunga nard all the way to the rim and again it's Patton Patton just let him get by k
nowing he could get there that's impressive Play From The Freshman you see his length and then neart takes it right back so each team erasing the others offensive opportunities if you're San Diego you miss a couple layups The Freshman Pat lunga and then you turn it over you you're when you when you play through Turner you're getting good shots he draws so much attention P just kind of lets him go by like okay I'll get you from behind I'm 68 and I know how to jump yeah it's good stuff he's got 23
blocks on the season coming in got a couple [Music] tonight M Hardy EK and time and a whistle and a foul on number 23 I believe no number 33 Dominic Muny that's his first person first team foul of the half that's his first that is one team foul on San Diego Hayes goes to the bench for Steve [Music] Lavin just going to back it in from he's got the size Advantage turns and shoots Anton keeps it alive and a new clock Pickman three that's long but a whistle and a foul inside and this will be agains
t USD and I think on number 23 oticus Watson does what he does second you second opportunity there on that possession good hustle on the offensive rebound Jimmy oakin picks up his second zags two of nine to start this half make it three of 10 nice drop off there off that drive from Stromer Anton now with seven on three of six and five boards and the assist I he's just even when Anton doesn't have a big scoring night you feel his impact and here it is trying to take it away and does can he save i
t did he get a time out he was sliding with the ball he did I think they gave him a timeout oh that was that's up play there from your senior make sure he's all right [Music] [Applause] drop it off weak side nice finish I'll take Anton Watson any [Music] [Applause] night we're on a mission to help make Washington State 100% cavity free to learn more visit cavity free wa.com brought to you by Delta Dental of Washington proud supporters A Healthy Smiles and your Gonzaga bulldog it's been better th
an 20 years now that people have been grinning ear to ear in this building it's hard not too I know it's a lot of winning it's just a crazy amount of winning what is Coach View at 83% win isn't his next win going to be 700 yes oh yes after tonight yes thank you yes that's pretty crazy 700 there's a good look at the bucket EK clears the Miss ol adakin couldn't finish Nolan [Applause] Hickman nard with 10 on the shot clock will drive and an off offensive foul called on Graham e so that's his secon
d and just the first foul on Gonzaga this half second turnover just an update on the assist to field goal ratio Gaga with 15 assists in this game 24 buckets they done a nice job tonight moving oh quick decisions also helps when you knock down the three-point shot right it does doesn't it Turner missed nard runs down the long rebound and now goes to work here's Ben Greg back on the floor for the zags gram eek the catch the rifle shot to the corner the zags working around n hard's three bang well
it starts with eek he finally gets doubled makes the right read opposite corner to Stromer and then the ball just two quick passes up to the top of the key for nart who was two or three the other night those are the types of Threes he needs to take those catch and shoot shots zags defense all over that play and that's off of Ben Greg we should take another look at that quick bang bang pass catch and shoot for for nard he's not trying to score from the three-point line off the dribble or coming o
ff a down screen just are already there ready to shoot the ball here's Duce Turner Turner from the corner boy that tell you what he's one of those guys where when he rises for the shot you just go to the other end you assume it's in made his last five as then nearly turns it over now five of 10 is turn you're absolutely right Greg I mean he doesn't take much for induced to get going he's leading all scores now with 18 points on six of 11 no pardon me yeah six of 11 four of six from three Ryan [A
pplause] dehart Nolan Hickman you know I've been impressed with nard this season obviously the the statistics tell you that he struggled from shooting the ball from three but the last several games as EK lost the grip back comes San Diego he's been patient and waiting for his spot and Hayes missing the three that'll be Gonzaga Ball but he's been patient waiting for his moments and when he gets a good look at it he's not going to down they don't need him to be the scorer you know he's going to ge
t his eight 10 12 points a game just naturally with his ability to push the ball attack the ram they need him to to run the run the deal you know he's not their best player but he's their most important player as Greg just keeps cooking after a great first half and it's important for Gaga that n hard you know controls the tempo gets them into their offense and doesn't make mistakes just makes the simple play over and over again yeah five assists just one turn over tonight for Ryan nehar and Ben
Greg now into double digits along with EK and Hickman shot for three is off from Muny EK getting tangled up with Jimmy [Applause] oakin and a foul C on letic physical came I think at first Greg and E were battling for it comes up with it no surprise there my ball 131 here from San Diego how do you attack that like that oh Dusty strober what a great follow oh that three all but in for Greg but yes you're right it's just that's that's one of the downsides of the zone is the shot goes up who you bl
ock who you blocking out and Richard he was out here on the wing Beyond free when that shot went over well he's had an act for Rebound in all year I mean that's the one area he's been consistent with as Stromer has been rebounding the ball and he's got the ball [Applause] again Dusty EK Qui spin too hard there's a late whistle but a foul called nonetheless and this will be on Jimmy ol adakin number 23 that's his fourth that's 14 fouls on USD this half Steve lvin over there pleading his case with
the official fouls 14 against San Diego tonight seven against Gonzaga coaches hate to see any disparities in that especially when it works against it's always a conspiracy too that's the era we're living in Richard oh that when it comes to fouls it's been since the dawn of time when it comes to basketball we had salads and an Italian Dish in the media room for dinner tonight normally we has sandwiches and there was a conspiracy of some sort I you actually you thought that was Italian food that
was like a a lasagna deal no it was like an enchilada deal oh okay okay so it was it was mexic those those are dramatically distinct Tomatoes 70 to 46 Dusty Stromer Five Points Ben Greg can't see Stromer but man he was 30 ft away from the rim and still got there for the finish and welcome back Gonzaga Hoops play the game brought to you by Multicare Health System where the year at home or in the K MultiCare steam of doctors nurses and Specialists partner with you all season long well we got to gi
ve it up here to San Diego I know they're down on the scoreboard but that is an unbelievable finish that might be the play of the night in all of college basketball I mean to to get through the contact you got Watson in front of you and use the off hand for padon well then to finish it at that angle yeah the angle's tough skill or luck just talent talent just yeah the god-given talent go go up and go get it and uh there's a lot of Promise here for San Diego when you look at the young guys padon
first and foremost B lunga has you know said 67 he's got a real chance that's kind of a combo guard you know you just go up and down their roster they got Four Freshmen that they have high hopes [Music] for well how about this zaga 17 fast break points USD 2 15 was the was the biggest discrepancy of the Season except for a 24-5 advantage against Eastern Oregon so those fast break points are not about great offense they're about turnovers well that's and the zag getting down the floor and finishi
ng yeah it's it's the ability to push it and just how quickly they transition look I I know I've said that several times tonight but it's really impressive when gonzaga's right they're as good as anybody in transition so not only can can Patton do those things at The Rim he can rise up and bury it he's he could be he might be a problem a high level player in college I mean he's all of 68 great length he's a good athlete he's just young out of Tula California Steve Lavin has found himself one the
re's B Greg and again it's Patton with the block just a freshman yeah about about 200 lb he slight a build but when you have that kind of length you can make up for that against stronger players you saw that right there against Craig and there's a hold against San Diego and that's Drago lunga and you know L is going to be good dragos I mean got to be good it's like an automatic yes well and again where shoes of that color yeah you're very confident yes I don't see you and I ever buying a pair li
ke that I don't think we we we can never pull that off I wouldn't walk out of the house but I don't have that kind of confidence with nart inside the free throw line Ben Greg that's a mansiz rebound and he'll shoot free throws he's been unbelievable tonight and you said it at halftime I mean it's just like bright red flashing lights I need to play more yeah I mean he has been productive and he has an impact in every game he plays 11 points four rebounds and an assist make the 12 points gram e ge
ts a break Bren Huff checks in Huff with two points Just Two Shots [Applause] tonight well he hasn't had the opportunity to get on the low block we saw Bren having big night against pepperine with a ton of post touches but just N9 minutes here for huff and the two points but you know what I like about what bra's done tonight he hasn't forced the shot nard oh my whoa explosive nard de Greg the flush and the takeaway here's Hickman zags with numbers nard three on the way long back comes [Applause]
USD and there's a scoop and a finish by Duce Turner he quiets the crowd Ben Greg wide open underneath that's the thing about Gonzaga you got to get back with their bigs if you allow them to lead the floor you're going to get burned well we've seen this now several times for San Diego just you know getting lost in transition in the half court just missing assignments great dish and patton the two-handed slap and now Patton with 13 points Ben Greg with 17 a season High tonight previous was 14 in
the game against the USC Trojans and there's a three ball Ben CG with 20 having himself a night and that is a career high so we go from a season high of 17 to a career high at 20 Haze inside nice finish Huff had a hand right there and he was able to curl it around Ben Greg nard three on the way bang ran neard and that's just a better look than the previous one he's got he's got a beat a second there as silly foul here from Hickman on the three-point shot it's tough to challenge that jump shot bu
t good shot there from nard catch and shoot you know under control has his feet under him think at times when he when he has to take a quick one that's not a good one when he's got the time to get set he can knock those down and foul Nolan h is second and this will give Duce Turner three free throws dece an 86% shooter coming in misses the [Music] [Applause] first now he's one or two 8256 Ben Greg out Nolan Hickman out [Applause] [Music] 22 this team appeared tired to me prior to Christmas yeah
it looked like it was beat down in a way it doesn't appear to be that way anymore no I I I think you're spot on Ryan neart now he's feeling it this is a great sign he's three of four two or three the other night what do I know shoot that percentage you can shoot it anytime you want I think you're absolutely right though Greg look that's a the non-conference was real that was difficult a lot of travel you don't have a lot of depth and those big games they're playing six basically you know Huff fo
r Greg depending on on how they're doing really Greg was getting the ball for those minutes in those Big Time games nard Jun for two neard with his eighth assist to 15 points what a night only one turnover Greg [Music] hard and he's three of four from downtown you love that I do I really do zags nine of 19 [Music] tonight Turner Ste back missed it good box out there but taking it right back is Jamerson and it's 8759 735 to play in Spokan nard in transition junio the Finish zags on their way to 1
1 and four nard gives that one up San Diego trying to stay in it Jamerson the flush long way to go though 735 to go Greg Heiser rich Fox 8759 Gonzaga and there is a great shot of that 1998 99 team the Cinderella story that it was those great players s Angelo neelon Calvary from Axel denu is here Quinton Hall is here the joy the city lit up like it never been lit up prior that Banner will hang up there forever and regardless of how many final fours El leite eight sweet 16s that this program gets
to that'll always be the first time yeah that'll always and you know something I think they were better than the Ohio State team that beat him in that Elite g eight game Connecticut Connecticut yeah oh I'm sorry yes yes but I think had they had they got by Connecticut it was Ohio state that was waiting for them with scony Penn and I think the Z's could to beat them oh that Connecticut game was tight down the stretch too it the thing about that team is you know you think about the magic of the Ru
n and you know how unexpected it was that was a good group of players man I mean high level high level division one basketball players they really were like when you go back as free throws coming we have the benefit of time to look back you realize and you look at a highlight reel how many dunks there were in those games H Pros on that team yeah really good team fun fun guys back in a moment and we're back at the home of the sags is Idaho Central Credit Union upcoming schedule for Gonzaga at San
ta Clara at pepperine at San Diego before they come home against San Francisco and at Pacific and that schedule pretty much guarantees that coach f is going to get a 700 win on the road is a bummer unless we're there around a league tonight Portland beat Pacific 7864 St Mary's in a tight one with the Lions and Pepperdine and Santa Clara underway in the first half aayi already aay I'm sorry point six rebound that's rich for you Mr a I'm doing my best okay greaten Huff in and out loose ball there'
s Pat almost traveled not a lot of movement right now by the Terrero offense and then Pon the RIS and prop he going to say where's the score going to come from but de Turner on the bench padon steps up and he's you know put him put together a night here really been great here in the second half yeah 16 points five rebounds and assist Ben Greg shot was blocked picked up by Huff still loose and a whistle and a foul inside against the terreros and this is not a bad contest here from Greg it's just
all 68 Paton is just I mean you can just see the ability the natural ability he has yeah he shoots the ball from out there at that size he's a Next Level guy yeah and look he's a freshman he's you know inconsistent but on the year eight points five rebounds shooting ad just at around 31% from the three-point line but to your point look it's so uncommon for a freshman to come in and have an impact you know Gonzaga has been so spoiled when you think about the likes of Zach Collins and hren and sud
s so yeah if you got a guy coming in that's going to be a lottery pick he might help you but for most kids it takes a while shot to three by Kenzie is off Ben Greg the re bound Here Comes Ryan nard lost the grip on the pass is the lob to the rim Patton the catch and tried to reverse it Stromer clears the Miss but it was still fun to see Corner three from yo is off the front of the rim and USD ball and then the turnover that is their 19th turnover of the game andard wanting his screen Ben Greg tu
rned down to three steps fire short zags now on a scoring grout that's almost 2 minutes and 30 seconds Patton left it and a chance for three now for Steven Jamerson Jamerson with 13 he's six of 10 13 and N boards unbeli I mean the effort tonight from Jamerson has been impressive I mean think about it same areas the other night played 20 minutes 2 two points he's been a good rebounder all year averaging about eight but he just doesn't score a lot for the Terrero that has not been the case tonight
so Jamerson at the line missed the free throw 67 7% shooter but only shot nine free throws coming into this game this season [Music] junor there's June creating some space hitting the jump shot camped out at the other end but braen Huff the block and then Stromer has it stripped Kenzie missed the shot but will shoot free throws foul on Stromer but Devin dely was hanging out down here under the rim waiting for the ball to yeah and this this follows what we saw against pepperine as well late you
know effectively the same group them hard didn't finish the game out but against pepperine but look if you're if you're June Dusty you know Bren in particular you know you can't turn it over you can't have a rebound taken from you you know these minutes matter for you when you're not a core guy in other words you know nard EK Watson I mean Hickman those guys are giv you know they have to play you've got to use these minutes to get better and making these mistakes playing sloppy just leaves a bad
taste in your mouth of your staff and Richard it's got to be tough for a young guy who was a star on his high school team could score at will could play and win and then you show up here and just the ability to concentrate for 40 minutes like that's got to be learned I would think [Music] too to stay dialed in to to work the game plan to make sure that you know look this there's a bit of a let down right now by Gonzaga right so we've had teams in the past that have let down we've had teams that
like night in I think at Cory kisper night in night out his great teams like it was like business for 40 minutes yeah I think this team has a similar approach to those teams I mean they come out they're ready to play every night it's just you know look they've been great this weekend but you just look at the way these games are ending they're just sloppy these minutes [Music] matter they matter when it comes to playing time or they matter in the ultimate goal normally both this year given a lac
k of depth I mean look Stormer is going to start in I mean they they need it need that to be the case certainly play a lot you know but it's just showing the coaching staff that okay now we've got most of our starters out of the game we need you to maybe play a different role can you do that effectively and it's just the ball it just gets sloppy and you just don't want to see that one more assist for Ryan nard he'll have 10 he's Huff in and out back in Bren hu now with six home run ball Juno got
back threw it to the middle of the floor here's Hayes Greg got a hand on that shot and then Hayes with the drive in the left hand scoop on the weak side and now some pressure nard leaves it for Ben Ben to Stromer Dusty the drive surrounded lost the ball that's the type of play we're talking about Turner deep transition three offensive rebound putback won't go but free throws combing for oakin 9370 first half was spectacular second half needs some work in scan back at the moment am I right and w
elcome back time to announce tonight's player of the game presented by ad Z Reynold where no job is too big or too small with eight convenient locations we run everything the ad toz Ren will be your most valuable player and it is number 33 yeah pretty easy call tonight Ben Greg just unbelievable Off the Bench just sparked that run there in the first half for Gonzaga four steals hasn't turned it over 20 points six rebounds couple of assists just really effici efficient seven of 14 for the field u
m you know missed a couple threes late but you know prior to that been knocking down the three-point shot you know I I don't know about you gr but it felt like this was coming for Ben you know he's been good all year you know they've been searching a bit the staff I think it has been what the right rotations are but if you really go back and look at those games against say quad one quad 2 teams it was Ben Greg out there on the floor with his experience and he just makes meaningful plays yeah tho
se four steals all came in in the first half tonight a career high I think that got him kind of in the mindset and ready to go and then the offense started to come and look he's just one of those guys where obviously he's playing at Gonzaga he's an incredibly skilled basketball player so don't take this the wrong way but his energy is his x fact yeah if he's playing hard at both ends he is a legitimate player and will scream for more minutes well it's the energy I like the emotion he plays with
too this is a pretty stoic group he has a fire to him and a bit of a Swagger you know you just and that stuff's contagious yeah drags no trouble with the Press Nar open free bang Ryan nard he's four of five from downtown wow and that's a season high with four makes six of nine now over the weekend hello three ball how good does that have to feel for him and credit him for just sticking with it because I mean going into this weekend in the pr game he's shooting what 15% yes from the three-point l
ine improving that percentage here quickly hay turns and Hees Ben Greg with a slap out but got it right to Deuce hey backing up can't get the three off to the [Applause] post a nice bucket there by oakin another good-looking freshman for San Diego 9672 Ben Greg looking for two [Applause] more got 22 here's Hayes under two minutes to go Coach View going to empty the bench here next next whistle Ben Greg clears that miss his seventh rebounds so 227 and two assists for Ben Greg so the zags have hit
