@ColAngus

Just let the man be. He doesn't need recognition, helping others is just his nature.

@theguythatlikestoaskquesti9583

I have a very strong feeling that this man doesn't want, or need fame. He simply wanted to help an officer in danger. We need more people like this.

@DEADisBEAUTIFUL

That gentleman is the embodiment of what a good samaritan truly is. Lending a helping hand to those who need it, but not waiting with a hand out expecting anything in return.

@lavernebell6274

Maybe he doesn’t want to have them talking to him and having recognition, but to say thank you to someone in person that virtually saved your life is amazing .

@jmpayne333

The true mark of a Good Samaritan. Doesn’t want the fame and glory just wanted to help his fellow man. We need more like him.

@SighNaps

Years ago a friend of mine pulled an elderly, unconscious man from a burning vehicle after an accident. He stayed with him until paramedics arrived and then left before he ever came to. Two years later he was contacted by a private investigator that the unconscious man had been paying for 20 months with the sole task of finding out who he was and locating him. The investigator told my friend that the man wanted to thank him and wire him $10,000 for saving his life. My friend agreed to a phone call with the man so he could thank him, but refused to accept the money. His reason was "Id want someone to do it for my father". I just wanted to thank everyone who has shown support for their kind words. I've sent a link to this thread to my friends sister and mother. They have appreciated all of you who read his story and took the time to recognize him. His mother told me that when she get's especially sad, she reads some of these comments and it makes her feel a little better.

@Arthur-nw8yo

I helped an officer with the sheriff department in an almost identical case. He was trying to get the officers pistol out. I intervened, Held the guy, While the officer hand cuffed him. The deputy never said one word to me. Not one thank you. I truly believed I possibly saved the officers life.

@DogmaBeoulve

I saved a woman, a few years ago now, from a violent attempted rape. I cannot imagine the weirdness and embarrassment that would have come for me if people had tried to prop me up or "recognize" me for doing the thing that decent, caring human being would do. I didn't need anything more than distressed screams to motivate me and, honestly, nobody should. It chills me, sometimes, to remember that, later, watching the security footage to nail down a timeline for the cops, that one store employee and one bystander ignored the screams and cries to either keep sweeping the floor or *run away uselessly*. You'll never motivate cowards and you're only going to embarrass and annoy actual good samaritans. In the middle ground, though, I get it - it does help to have these calls to goodness and beacons of hope. But the real heroes - not that I am calling myself one - would have never needed it in the first place. It's in your blood and in your heart, the call to protect. <3 Hopefully, I'll never forget your name, Emily, because you deserved so much more than horror and panic in someplace you should have been safe in.

@theodoremarakas9899

He's certainly NOT a coward. He's older but his fighting spirit is intact. A cowboy and a gentleman. A true American

@kingfisher3302

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." This good man did something.

@ernestwegner4960

Thank God there are (still) some Good men that have a pair and helped out this Police Officer in his time of need. Thanks to the brave man that helped out!!!

@kerrypearce4264

A good and decent man. Quick thinking. Knew precisely what to do in this fast-moving and potentially dangerous situation. A wonderful role model for us all. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 ❤️❤️❤️

@NateDogg32087

Old school won’t accept an award for doing what a man has to do. Well done sir.

@br__uh

I really hope they found him. He doesn’t need recognition, but that officer would sure as hell want to thank him.

@lisamona6208

Good samaritans always make my day! It takes a lot of bravery to go to a potentially dangerous situation but it inspires me to try and help others much more!

@mikerone49

You'll never see this on Mainstream TV. But America still has a few good citizens

@kentuckytrapper780

He knows who he is, great job buddy, the world needs more like you.

@robertlennon9531

I'm glad he didn't just stand there and videotape the officer having trouble like many others would have done. Thank you for doing the right thing.

@robertoautore9252

He's a humble human being he just wanted to help the police officer in destress, a true hero.

@shoachiwarrior

Thank you to the good Samaritan! The world needs more!
