rot in America's education system becoming increasingly clear so when are parents given the right to choose where to send their kids looks like they're taking it when they get it leading to a rise in charter schools a new study is showing that Charter School enrollment has jumped 9% since 2019 while District School enrollment has dropped more than 3% joining us now is American Federation for children senior fellow Cory d'angeles Corey always good to see you I got to tell you I love the trend I'm
seeing when parents get Choice when they get their money back they choose good things for their kids it was a great year in 2023 do you think 2024 is going to be as helpful in terms of more parents getting more Choice yeah we're doing a lot of winning on school choice but we're just getting started because parents have woken up once families get a little bit of a taste of school choice they fight really hard to never give it back to the politicians again so all across the country there's been a
Max Exodus from the government school system hundreds of thousands of students are flocking away from the government schools towards private and charter schools and in places like New York there's been a 10% increase in enrollment in charter schools and a 7% decrease in enrollment in the government schools look the government school system played stupid games now they're winning stupid prizes the unions fought to keep the schools closed as long as possible they started to inject politics into t
he classroom and when parents started to push back they got labeled as domestic terrorists for for questioning the status quo and for wanting the basics for wanting an education as opposed to indoctrination now parents are saying no more that's enough we're fighting back and we're voting with our feet yeah and I think oh sorry Jackie go ahead this pretty much seems to be across the board because you mentioned New York and I'm looking at this geographically speaking you can see um uh the states w
ith the highest Charter School enrollment are Texas up 20% North Carolina 19% Pennsylvania 10% you also added New York there so I was looking for for a pattern to be able to say red state blue State this seems like parents either way it doesn't matter what kind of state you live in you're worried about your child you're going to make this kind of decision that's right it's all over the place and families are revealing their preferences by voting with their fee and this isn't a money issue either
the charter schools get a lot less funding per student in New York for example the government schools spend over $36,000 per student per year and the charter school students only receive about 80% % of that funding $7,000 per student per year less uh so it's not about the money it's about an incentive to do the right thing in charter schools when they underperform they get shut down underperforming government schools they get more money year after year but they don't prioritize the needs of the
students and their families they care about maintaining their Monopoly on the minds of other people's children and so they fight as hard as possible against any accountability whatsoever charter schools are directly accountable to families so are private schools and I will say on the private school choice front we've had 10 states go universal meaning All Families eligible in the past two years Alone look unions are going to stand against this all day Corey but you give parents money and choice
they will fix this system we got to go always good to see you thanks Corey absolutely thank you so much

We have to defund the Department of Education! The children belong to the parents and not the government!

@musicgroopie1

Defund the Federal Department of Education!!!

@northupupgrages09

SAVE the Nation..... Homeschool your children ❤🇺🇸⚠️

@kare7840

I'm so impressed with the home schooling on the rise here. Close the education by government indoctrination! Take it back home.

@tcmurray1661

Teachers leave them kids alone. Written and song for a reason. Another Brick in the Wall.

@karabinb4514

Congratulations parents!!! For doing what’s best your kids!!!🎉

@TheTrumpmancometh2024

Their needs to be a law if school system fails to educate children then the taxpayer should get a school tax refund!

@thereseajones2621

Our Children ! No more Government Control over Our Education!

@bridgetsexton1978

Hope my district starts charter school. Let us parents choose.

@NHLblkgurl

Since we’re talking the Biden woke school system, I’m guessing “hide the sausage” was a bureaucratic favorite?

@brendaflournoy4826

I'm glad my child is done with school in a few months. Government schools should be closed down as long as a democratic hold the power.

@Sam11747

Choice is good. However, we found that there wasn't much of a difference between charter schools, private schools, and government schools in our area cause of the all regulations. I'm glad we decided to home school all eight of our children. Two of our children got their bachelors degree at sixteen, and the rest of our children are on track to do the same.

@bottomsupbarmaid1987

I had to pull my son out of public school because he was followed and attacked multiple times by the same person and whatever they were doing wasn’t stopping it. He was in student leadership/jr national honor society and the public school would rather keep the peace with the kids whose parents are louder.

@btoolman

These public school teachers are not even teaching kids what they are paid to teach. Kids are so badly educated at this point, they cannot even read a simple book anymore without struggling. This is tragic.

@mikebolton3816

Meanwhile enrollment goes down, but somehow, taxes to cover the school district went up 7%. All the high ups that have the big pay are related. Its nepotism and cronyism.

@kevinrice7635

Stay healthy and out of public schools.... they do whatever they want with your kid's.... believe that Pilgrims. Trump 24 Bidenonimics out the door 🚪.

@yvonnewagner5952

No parent wants to send there child to public school, and wonder what crap they are throwing upon your child in the classroom.

@FlyGuy457

I would never ever put my children back in public or private school. The worlds largest money pit of despair and downward learning.

@brucemattingly6476

Great news and trend to start the new year..!👍🎆🕺✨️💜

@outoftheashes_

I have 10 school-age grandchildren. Five are home schooled, one is at a charter school and four are in public schools. My grandson in the charter school is going to graduate a year ahead of time. The children still in public schools are planning on exiting this coming year. Charter ot home school for them too. For parents that care about their children, it's happening in mass!
