Same girl, same Hi guys, your fellow romcom enjoyer Dapinkey’s here. Season 2 of the  dangers in my heart has been airing for a month now and it’s been dominating this season every  single fockin week, staying at number 1 on the popularity poll and beating other big names such  as classroom of the elites, mashle or freaking solo leveling. I’m just so proud. Now, only one  question remains. Why is it so popular? Is it that good of a show? Spoiler alert, yes. Then how  so, you might ask? Well, let
’s find out right now. For those of you who haven’t watched the show,  here’s the premise. Sociopathic incel, prettiest girl in the whole school. Or if you look at it  from a different angle, tall girl with booba, short guy who’s conveniently at the same height  as her booba. So right of the bat, many people, including myself, would be rightfully skeptical  about the show. Is this just some degenerate, fantasy, fanfic show? Then, we were hit with  the opening scene. Aight, what is bro yapping ab
out. Haiz, what am I watching again? Oh ok,  it’s just a normal romcom. How I knew that? The background music bro. Listen to that again. Yep,  it’s just another romcom. The opening is just a little expectation subversion type stuff.  So ye, this is yet just an ordinary romcom, like any other romcoms. Or is it? II. Romance: Ever since I was a little boy, I have always  been fascinated by romance. The first anime I’ve ever watched which has more or less define  me as a person was in fact a classic
romcom. Seeing them hanging out and then caring for one  another and eventually getting to the climax that is the kissing, it really makes my heart  race and I would be engulfed in joy. Still, I wouldn’t be able to understand what it’s like to  actually be in love, and even until now I have yet to be in any relationships. However, as I just  turned 18 and got to university, I’ve already been given a taste of what romance is like. It  was a one-sided love, but just in 3 months I actually got to
experience almost every aspect  of it. From feeling like you’ve got no enemies, starting to see birds and butterflies flying  around, to feeling like a piece of garbage when she’s hanging out with other boys, or she hasn’t  texted you for a few days. Joy, peace, excitement, jealousy, anger, depression,
I’ve gone through  it all in those 3 months and I was finally able to truly understand and appreciate romance.  Fortunately, I watched Bokuyaba after having known what love is. And oh my god, was
it great. Ichikawa was an introverted dude who’s got a great awareness of his surrounding despite only being  a middle-schooler. He’s got some weird and quirky side to him, you know, thinking of what his  friend’s corpse looks like and such but don’t we all have a little freaky side to ourselves.  Augh. That was my freaky side. Ok wtf. Anyway, because I don’t want to spoil his backstory  to explain him as a character too much, let’s just say that he’s a very pessimistic and  self-deprecating pe
rson. As he takes interest in a classmate, Yamada, who is apparently the prettiest  girl in school and a model, he finds his boring and lonely world slowly coming to an end. His  used to be safe space which is the library, was also then occupied by Yamada and that’s how they  met, and that’s sort of where everything started. What I like about the romance genre is the  fact that despite how clichĂ© it could be, there are still so many different stories that  could be told from it. This time, it’s
about a guy who created and trapped himself in his own  cage, but is now slowly taking actions to free himself because of love. It’s not that this is  such a creative story. I mean a shy person, or maybe even an isolated person lives their horrible  life, and then randomly, the most popular, most perfect one comes to them and swoop them away. I  like how it’s not like that in this series. Yes, it was thanks to Yamada that Ichikawa decided to  step out of his shell, but he was the one to take the
step. Realistically you have to be the one  to take action if you want to achieve something, not depend on others for it and that’s exactly  what was shown here. By the end of the first episode, you see Yamada sort of talking and is  being flirted on by this playboy guy, asking for her number and stuff. As Ichikawa was behind them  and heard their conversation, he was undoubtedly annoyed, and what he did no one would’ve expected.  He proceeded to throw his bike with full force, right down to th
e river and making a big fuss  to distract the two of them. By the end of that, Yamada noticed him. And I mean brooo, that  was just so good. From when Ichikawa noticed how Yamada was being uncomfortable, then getting  annoyed when she was acting like she’s happy, to him pushing his bike to stop the guy from forcing  Yamada to give him her number. It’s so well done and it is so real. I mean I went through that too,  and to see how Ichikawa reacted to the situation, he’s such a chad and he deserv
es everything  coming his way. That is Yamada, ofc. I just picked out that one moment from the 1st episode  to show you guys that, this is such a well written story. There are other guys who are looking at her  with lewd eyes. There are the ones that are more innocent but is still your love-rival. There are  her friends. There are her parents. And of course, there is her herself. All of those could be  considered obstacles in this pursuit of love that everybody so wish for. With an average roman
ce  show, you would have all of those obstacles play into tropes and clichĂ©s and those people end up  just being mere objects. In this series, it’s so natural. Every progression, every new person in  Yamada’s life that Ichikawa meets just kind of reflects how much more connected they are in their  relationship. And even if you look at it from the stand point that they’re obstacles, Ichikawa  always managed to pass with flying color. And the way he did it isn’t with luck or any meticulously  thou
ght out plans, it’s simply that he has true love for Yamada and proved it every damn time. Now that I’ve described how it’s realistic, let’s talk beauty. This is easily one of the  most beautiful romance anime I’ve ever saw, and you know damn well I watched a lot of romance.  I mean visually, uh, stunning. The story itself, moves at such a perfect pace, in my humble opinion  of course, and it gives the perfect amount of reward both for us as the viewers and the two  leads of the show. Ichikawa s
tarted off as someone who is self-deprecating, always having thoughts  like, she’ll never like me, I don’t deserve someone like her. And the contradiction here is  that he would have the arrogance to literally impose on others that, ah they hate me, they don’t  see me that way and so on. That way of life is just horrible and well, I’ve been like that so  I can relate deeply. What made the difference is that he loved Yamada and that part of him won  over his toxic sides. That’s when he was given
the reward. It was this moment. This moment. And  that moment. Each one pulled him away from that dark world he once enslaved himself in, turning  him into a whole different person while still keeping all of his best qualities the same. It is  wonderful to witness such an incredible journey. And I’d also want to point out the subtlety  of the progression. I love that Ichikawa was able to recognize that he loved Yamada in only  episode 3. Many other anime would prolong this to the point of freaki
n 200 chapters and the  MC’s like oh I do love her. With its setting, bokuyaba could’ve easily turn into just  another 2 seasons of oh I do love her, but it didn’t. It’s crazy how Ichikawa could be  lying to himself about anything, but not his love for Yamada. Oh my god I just realized how romantic  that is. Ahhhhh. But ye, even when he realized his love for her, he still think of himself as  someone who’s not worthy enough. And of course, because he doesn’t want to lose her he can’t  risk confe
ssing, and have to tread ever so carefully to not show his true emotions. And not  just him, both of them moved one step at a time, showing each other bits and bits of themselves,  and treasuring every moment they share. He loves her for she has opened his eyes to this beautiful  world. And she loves him for he has shown her how to appreciate it. Now that’s a beautiful romance. Thanks a lot for watching, if you enjoyed then please like and subscribe and if you have  any thoughts you want to shar
e then please comment down below. Season 2 is airing right  now and by the end of the season there will be a confession scene. Yep, so go watch it right  now, you won’t regret it. That’s it for now, and stay well people.
