Okay, I need to change to english, okay. Ok Kevin We gonna start with the first question Okay, tell us when was your very very first trip? and how you became a Travel Junkie? well.. I used to travel when I was younger with my family So my parents would take me on road trips through the USA and we had some family in Canada So sometimes we go to Canada And then when I got older and I had a car I went on my own road trips By yourself or with friends? First with friends then once by myself, and the
n I ventured further I have a cousin who lives in Hong Kong and that was my first big trip out of the country When? this was... a couple of years ago Not very long ago, so I started travelling a lot more, bit later when I got more courage but now, theres is nothing holding me back So when you came to Mexico? and why Mexico why Monterrey? well... it's such a good question actually I had a job where a travel a lot so I've been to Queretaro and I knew from that experience the people is super friend
ly in Mexico it's a pretty place, great food, I love the weather I was dating a girl from Monterrey when I was living in Washington D. C. so I came here in August Almost a year Ok, and you still here and now I'm still here without girlfriend But what is gonna be the next city that you want to see? Well I am moving to Guadalajara soon Very excited really excited about that, and a little bit nervous As far as travel plans, I don't know There's still a lot of states that I want to see so, in wich c
ountries have you been there? Honk Kong, USA for sure around and Mexico Thailand some Canada, USA of course of course! and I've been to a lot of countries in Europe France mostly, UK some places in Italy, Greece Nice! i want to go to Greece Germany? I was in Amsterdam, Brussels yeah, a lot of short road trips trough Europe, wich I did last year Really? yeah! Oh that's nice! yeah! right before came here Spain and then I came directly to Mexico and I carry all of my stuff with me that whole trip,
definitely bad yeah, totally a bad idea so you travel with your backpack like low cost trip? I mean the Eurotrip with Hostels and all that stuffs Mostly, yeah, almost totally hostels. I think yes In some cheaper places. I stayed in hotels like in Greece. It was very inexpensive That's nice so and we with all yeah AirBnb Couchsurfing? I haven't done. I've actually never you know, never actually never never, never? Okay, I'm always planning last-minute so I don't yeah, make sense So with all these
trips and travels for sure you have many many stories so, we wanna hear some of your stories please, share with us your craziest travel storie my craziest storie, I don't know how much I can talk about am... the gory details what? gory details, it's like the dirty okay okay okay I actually had a storie that what's going to talk about well... here is one so at the end on the Eurotrip I supposed to fly out of London to here, to Mexico City but there are two big airports in London and I bought my
tickets with enough time, because there were super cheap I was flying into London and then I need to move from one airport to the other separe tickets, different airlanes, but I had like 5 hours in between okay but, don't do that! this could happen to you! my flight was delayed for about three hours and then it takes me at least an hour to change the airport so... I miss my International flight back Mexico, and I have to buy another ticket but it wasn't so bad, actually you can get last minute f
lights oh yeah with a good discount I have to set up an Airbnb sleep there super stressfull Yeah yeah at that time, Now you can talk about more relax yeah I remember you learn something at least yeah yeah so the first time was just at the airport sleeping and next to me some cars and I woke up when people were like pushing the car into me and I was like I'm here, i know you can see me that's was awful well... thats a well not so good story I bought a very expensive fish, it was a scam in Venic
e I paid 100 euros for a big big fish it wasn't very good no, i know it wasn't very good but, they star with wine yeah yeah sure! like, hey by the way, we have this delicious fish it's like the most common fish that they have, locals now it's cheap, it's not very good but, you know, they sell it like 100 gram like the same price that you can buy a better one so, we have your crazy, your funny I mean, I have another question do you have some fears while you are traveling so, the more I travel th
e less worry about it so like in the beginning, you hear rumors about horrible things like, Oh! keep your wallet in your front pocket which it's a good advice I do that please, do that! and I never had anything stolen from me ok cool but a lot of people are afraid to go to hostels because they think that so many people have access to your things but in my experience it's very safe and actually for a good hostel you look for the reviews I had better experiences than in Hotels I found very clean p
laces super helpful yeah actually the service on the hostels is good, the staff and especially... you can also find friends there, right? yeah you meet a lots of other people familiar with traveling in general with the area, some people got there 5 days before you so they tell you this is what we did, this is what to avoid the staff members are usually jung travelers themselves or people who are local so much more helpful than the people who you find in any Hotel who are working this crazy hours
in the hotel they just look miserable and when you ask a question the are like "hey why are you asking me something I wanna sleep right now" yeah totally happens yeah, I haven't really had any real scary experiences I used to be afraid of getting lost or been taking advantage of, been kicking I don't know anyone can be kicking well actually in Mexico kind of, well nah! this is another story ok you can tell us no, this is not my story If you don't walk in a straight street drunk in the middle of
the night anywhere It doesn't matter yeah, just common sense in general If you're scared about traveling start small There's even hostels in your own city, so yeah try it out and is cheap, so yeah that's a good advice well, about that, the rumors and that things what do you hear before to came to Mexico? so I remember I think like 5 years ago, before came here So at least in the USA maybe in other places too but Mexico has a reputation for being super dangerous somewhere you don't wanna go like
stay in your hotel or the resort and don't leave for any reason, in any circumstace but it's absolutely not true yeah, what do you think now? so now is super safe, the people are extremely friendly It's nothing like Italy was Where everyone was trying to take advantage of me and like they see me and they raise their prices this happen to me in Asia also Thailand and China, Hong Kong they see the white guy and doble or triple the prices like "and for you white guy" but here in Monterrey and ever
ywhere I've been in Mexico that's not happen not even in Cancun? well in Cancun yes Because it's a tourist place Yes But everywhere else Everyone treats me very well Just like family and call me new people and I get invited to dinner with the family on Sunday for "Carne Asada" so much diminutives used here so, do you think the travels makes your life happier? definitely yes! I think ... there is so many different angles for this so there is the political thing there is the way that... just so ma
ny thing! my life is so much better okay you can order your ideas first When you stay in your hometown, and this is very common at least in my country In the USA, most people don't really leave home they stay in there. Maybe not even their own state. Okay They might go to the beach But they don't really know what it's like outside and so when you grow up in your own culture you kind of told that Everyone thinks their culture is the best culture Oh, yeah But once when you leave You can really see
that Not everything is better some things are better and some things are not and you can go it's like oh, I thought New York City was like super like developed in high tech but after Hong Kong, it's like not in everywhere You can take a different perspective, right? Yeah. So and some some cities have like super high tech transportation or they have really tall pretty buildings and stuff Mexico has like the best food forever still, it's my favorite and the people are friendly here I feel safer
here than I do in some cities in USA I feel safer that's just me So, yeah just learning different cultures and meeting different people Realizing in some cultures people's attitudes are like better like in Mexico before you feel like family with everyone you meet in other countries people are more cold, you can treating like outsider unless you really get to know someone Traveling is really opening so many things so close to finish the interview What was your best and the worst advice that you h
ad received about travels? ok best and worst advice... best advice is to pack light! if you are not sure that you gonna need something and you think like "maybe i should bring this because something can happen" don't do it! actually I meet a couple of travelers, i don't know CHIAPAS or something and they were telling me a story that they were somewhere in South America But they brought lots of stuff yeah and all they got stolen at some point They left my stuff in a train station when they went t
o the bathroom or something. They came back. It was gone and they said that it was the best thing that happen to them on the trip cause than they had nothing to worry about so they bought two toothbrush, toothpaste and small backpacks and they said that was all they need it pretty much for the whole trip you don't need a lot of things you can do laundry everywhere you go there is people wear clothes so you can buy clothes, you can do laundry everything you need is gonna be there you know, that h
appens to me in my last trip I was traveling in UK Belgium and Neederlands and I was just, I did CS, and I was with my backpack and I was leaving my stuffs everywhere because I really don't need it yeah, you can get away with very few things yeah it's crazy yes you can find anything if there is an emergency you can always find a way yes, totally and the worst advice? don't go to Mexico! yeah, actually yeah that's probably the worst advice don't go there! wherever I was it was always better don'
t hear that yeah, I mean maybe there are some places that you shouldn't go, I'm not saying don't be safe unless somebody has been there before there is not reason that you should listen to them Okay, well we are finish our first section and we gonna pass to the second section yeah, FAST AND CURIOUS NOW! Okay, you need to answer just with one word the first one that came in your mind ok, this is gonna be interesting yeah, and funny so a window to my brain Favorite word in Spanish? ahh... Puto Wha
