Nankana Sahab is situated in the center of Pakistani Punjab. This city is lucky that Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj was born here. Today, I will take you to spiritual journey of Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahab. I have reached outside Gurdwara Janam Asthan after my car and now I will go inside. Sat Sari Akal! How are you? It is mandatory to wash hands and feet before getting inside Gurdwara. Covering your head is also necessary. As you enter Gurdwara, you see Palki Sahab inside a glass ca
se. Made with pure gold, this Palki was sent from Delhi. A little further from Palki Sahab, there is historical Jand Sahab. It's history is horrible and terrible. This history is written in Gurmukhi and English It is written on walls and there is painting as well. In 1921 AD, Gurdwara was under the rule of Mahants Mahants started desecrating Gurdwara with their immoral activities. Under the leadership of Lachaman Singh Dharowali a group of 150 to 200 Sikhs reached Gurdwara to restore its prestig
e through peaceful negotiations. Under the leadership of Narayan Das, Mahants crossed all limits of barbarism and attacked this peaceful delegation with weapons. This attack is considered to be the second most horrible massacre in Sikh history after Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Companions of Sardar Lachman Sigh Dharowali were assassinated and he was set on fire after hanging him on this Jand Sahab. This great sacrifice played an important role in giving management of Gurdwara back to Sikhs. Next t
o Jand Sahab is Janam Asthan, the sacred place where Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj was born. We have Sardar Bota Singh Ji with us who is Garanthi of Gurdwara Janam Asthan. There is a Head Granthi he is Granthi. The room where we are present now it is the birthplace of First Guru and Founder of Sikhism Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. In Sikhism, 1st Guru is Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj last and 10th Guru is Guru Gobind Maharaj. Guru Gobind said that from now onwards, Guru Granth Sahab will be your
living Guru which is the holy book of Sikhism. First word of Guru Garanth Sahab is 'Omkar' which means 'God is One.' Like us, the Muslims, Sikhs also believe that God is One, this belief separates them from Hinduism. (Mentioning reference from Sikh holy scripture) (Reciting Surah e Ikhlas) It is the exact translation. It is called 'Mool Mantar.' Sikh believes that God is One and nobody has given birth to Him and He will remain beyond eternity. Guru Sahab says that the mouth of every poor is Guru
's box. They spend 'Daswand' which means out of 100 rupees, you have to spend 10 rupees on poor. The Granthi of Janam Asthan Sardar Bota Singh Ji recited Granth Sahab at this occasion. (Sardar Bota Singh Ji reciting Granth Sahab) Sardar Bota Singh told us about the 'Baniyaan.' 5 Baniyaan from early morning till dawn. One 'Bani' is recited in the evening. And one 'Bani' is recited before going to sleep. It is recited right before we sleep. Just like 5 prayers are mandatory for Muslims, we recite
5 'Baniyaan' in the morning, 2 in the evening and one before sleeping. It's objective is to worship wholeheartedly. God forbid if we die while asleep on our bed, Guru Sahab says door of heaven will be open for you. Baba Ji said that 'I am a sinner and people call me a pious man for no reason. I am in black. I have changed my appearance to black. This is Baba Ji's message of Humility and Benevolence. If a pious man like Baba Ji who worships God 24 hours calls himself a sinner, we stand nowhere. (
Reciting Khwajah Ghulam Fareed's poetry) Worship in youth is very noble and it earns heaven. When a man like me gets old, he falls ill, parts of his body start paining and he is more worried about himself. True worship is of youth, it is accepted by God. We were lucky to have Parsad of Janam Asthan. After Janam Asthan, we headed towards Sukh Aasan. This is the blessed room where Guru Granth Sahab lays. Sukh Aasan is the place where Guru Granth Sahab will be present. Baba Ji will keep guiding us.
It is in the teachings of Sikhism that where there is Guru Granth Sahab, Sukh Aasan must also be there. Sukh Aasan is tried to be made as beautiful as possible. If it is winter, heater is installed here and in summer, air conditioner is made available. We cannot but we have tried to decorate Guru Sahab's room as it deserves. You have seen that this is the best bed for Guru Sahab. At about 3:30, 3:45 early in the morning, our Granthi and Gayani take Guru Granth Sahab from this room to recite and
they recite it in Sangat just like your Jamaat. They start worship at 3:40, recite 5 'Bani Paat', then 'Sukhmani' Sahab, then prayer and in the end we hold 'Asa Di War Kirtan', it is like Qawali. This is what Guru Nanak Maharaj spoke himself. 'Asa Di War' is mandatory, then it ends at 7:30. We purchased the bed for 130,000 rupees 15 years ago. First of all such 3 beds were manufactured in Chiniot, one is here, one for Kartarpur and one for Lahore. We will purchase if a better than this bed is m
ade. We consider it alive. You call it 'Chadar' we call it 'Romal' We change it in the evening to carry Granth Sahab in the morning. It is 1.25 to 1.50 meter long. Baba Ji showed great love for me and opened Sukh Aasan and showd me 'Romala.' Now we are going to see 'Amrat Jal' well. Coming out of Sukh Aasan, passing through Janam Asthan, there is Bibi Nanki's well. We are going to visit it. I have reached on Bibi Nanki's well. I will get Amrat Jal from here. There used to be 2 wells. This place
was expanded so one well was reduced and Baba Ji showed me that well. This is Bibi Nanki's well. Wahe Guru Ji Da Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Di Fateh! As you enter from main gate of the Gurdwara there is a very beautiful painting of Baba Guru Nanak Deve Ji Maharaj and his two close companions Pai Mardana & Pai Bala has been painted on the left wall. There is a treasure of Sikh religion from the main gate till Janam Asthan. The hanging banners also explain five articles of faith which include 'Kesh, Kan
ga, Kara, Kirpan and Kaccha.' No Sikh can be complete without these five articles. On next banner, the names of 10 Gurus are written in order. On top of all the names there is the name of the greatest Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. This is 'Saropa', from head to toe it is Guru's gift It's objective is 'Bole So Nihal.' I was also lucky to have Guru's blessing 'Romala.' Don't touch it to your feet, keep it high. Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal. It is a great honor that Baba Ji has given me 'Saropa.'
There is a symbol or flag of every nation, it is the flag of Sikh nation. It is of the same saffron color of 'Saropa.' It is called 'Nishan Sahab.' There used not to be high rise buildings in ancient times, so Nishan Sahab was erected for passengers to see and find it. A gurdwara with 'Nishan Sahab' offers free education, free langar, free lodging and free medical facilities. There is 'Khanda Sahab' on top of 'Nishan Sahab.' Like 'Al Zulfiqar' sword of Hazrat Ali R.A. which was a double bladed
sword, 'Khanda Sahab' is double bladed one blade of one's self and the other for holy war. It is called 'Nishan Sahab' and it is very respectable and when there is ceremony of flag hoisting, a man goes up on a 'Charkhi' and comes down while wrapping the cloth around it. I have completed visit of Janam Asthan and now I am going to 'Langar Khana.' I'll have Langar, meet brothers. All rules of eating Langar have been written here so you must adhere them. All information is available here. I reached
at Guru Ji's place to have Langar. The Langar was very delicious. People were very loving. Now I will head towards 'Saroor Sahab.' I am at 'Saroor Sahab' now which is sacred water. People take bath here for worship in the morning. Yatris who come here on Besakhi Mela take bath here. The depth is 18 feet. People go down by holding chains. There is 'Jora Ghar' behind me Yatris put off their shoes. When they return, they find their black, brown shoes polished. They believe that polishinig the shoe
s of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj's guests is a great honor for them and they will be blessed through this service. This yellow building was built in 1912 for night stay but now on its right and left, there are numerous rooms. Sikh Yatris who come from abroad, Lahore and Faisalabad are far from here, so they stay here. I have completed my yatra of Gurdwara Janam Asthan. I visited Janam Asthan, Sukh Aasan, Amrat Jal well, Bibi Nanki's well and Langar Khana and also ate Langar. I liked it very much.
God Willing, I will try to return to Gurdwara again on Mela. I hope you liked my yatra of Gurdwara Janam Asthan. I will bring detailed yatras of Janam Asthan and Sukh Aasan for you very soon. Please don't forget to subscribe my channel and tell me about this video by commenting on it.
