seen that new headset they dropped last night yes do you own it yet it's gonna take a minute for me to save up that much money dude 3 400 gets more than a used car nowadays and let's be honest the last investment you made in virtual reality did not work out very well you notice how last night they didn't even mention metaverse or AI once like either term nope they're in there Aaron bought a town literally in the metaverse you owned an entire town and that town is now like shit's creek at this po
int it's worth yeah they made a report I guess all metaverse real estate has plunged 90 in the past 10 months is there an index on metaverse real estate is that a real there is I didn't know that wow yeah there's evaluation and everything who knew I saw a meme today that was the they're making fun of like goggles they look like big bug eye goggles they're selling an 8.99 accessory the Apple snorkel the snorkel that goes with they're gonna make us buy it they're gonna make us buy it and we're buy
ing it their angle is good they're focusing on AR not VR and that's the the easiest segue into something better out there doing that and they're also developing for developers right now they're getting everyone hyped People Like Us who simply cannot afford this if we're talking 3 400 for a headset it's a WWDC developers conference so what they want to do is get every developer to get excited about it make apps and all the while they're going to drive the price down they're going to get the text
smaller and then they're going to get that price point down in three four years will come and everyone will be so hype about this thing and then it'll be like 14.99 and all of us are going to be running to the nearest Apple store that's exactly what they've done they do everything developers are going to be pissed because we paid 3 800 for the damn thing right well so Glenn walk me through what your head I know we're getting way off tangent but so many big news so many things to talk about in Ai
and updates you look at that from a developer's point of view where does your head go I'm it's hard to say there's it's even new thinking about it that way for me because I I honestly thought the virtual reality was dying right so to see this whole kind of way that we can integrate real life with virtual reality like an overlay over everything it just changes everything the way we work think about DJing and thinking about think about create actors think about getting song requests or you have y
our goggles on and you can see song requests on the right hand side I still make eye contact even with out of face when you think about the possibilities for things like doctors surgeries there's just imagine overlaying some sort of a diagram on top of something a map on top of something I don't think a doctor needs a map for someone's when they're doing surgery but I think you get my point there's a hell of a lot more possibilities there I think Apple waited until they got it right and they got
it right and Facebook Facebook is more about playing games Apple's more about productivity which is ironic since it's always been the other way around for years I'm really excited to see the opportunities in my head I've always seen I've always been really excited for augmented reality not to see I don't know zombies or movies or Pokemon thank you yeah I've always been wanting to see waveforms in front of me for some reason I'm always in my head you and I have talked about this before Glenn lik
e where I'd love to see the Serato waveforms in front of me yeah and I think we're getting close so check this out they made this real it was like two seconds it was two seconds oh we're giving them a sneak of something they shouldn't see what's on that uh yeah but we can't show them this so we just unveiled the future DJ newsletter and obviously we want to go all in on future Tech and so let's look at that these aren't even your real eyes dude this is an overlay of your eyes when you use a Face
Time if you're doing a FaceTime call they're seeing a virtual Avatar of you so this is a virtual Avatar of your eyes which is nuts to me but it was down here it was a split second that they showed this algorithms DJ yeah that's why they haven't been improving it because they're working on something in the background like you didn't see this in the picture here but like the guy's hand there's no joysticks by the way no joysticks so the guy was using his hand to touch the sample pads in front of u
s and that to me I'm like holy there it is the waveforms are right there in front of us and that's just yeah see crowd reaction which you couldn't really see quite clearly of but how do they see it does everyone else have to see your goggle do they all have to wear goggles to see the decks or how does that even they will not see the decks did you see you think about it they don't see your deck I mean they don't see your decks now when you're in a club right yeah it's just a weird dude bobbing hi
s head up there looking like that and yeah but that's what you like you love that that's that's you and another guy with goggles on no I don't like see as much as I love the metaverse as much as I love the immersive Factor it looks absolutely ridiculous with this big ass thing on your head it just looks ridiculous anyway future DJ podcast and newsletter coming your way very soon and if you stick around I'm gonna give you all a beta test if your hacker is with me Glenn and I have been off the rad
ar for the past week building something truly incredible Glenn can you give us a little tease and then we'll make that the finale tonight it's really what you said incredible it's groundbreaking groundbreaking I don't think anyone's done it yet for DJs and we're gonna be hopefully the first ones to push it out there and make this a hub for information for DJs a free hub for information for DJs I think we both tackled this before we did the giveaway the whole Farm the reason why you and I went ab
out this was because unlike the cray hackers private group where you go and you get answers and we do our best to answer them as politely as possible you and I have seen the tinge of drama or trolling or just BS that goes on in other Facebook private groups and we're hoping to solve that with this speaker that's right this is a place where you can ask questions and you don't have to worry about somebody jumping down your throat it's completely private conversation nobody sees it um I think a lot
of people don't like to ask questions in those larger groups because they're afraid of the wrath of some certain people and hopefully this is a way for people to get the answers that they need without necessarily feeling like they're exposing themselves or maybe what you know the for the experience that they actually have this is a big problem solver and and it's a chance for hackers to come together and really solve a problem a real important problem give it to about 50 after the hour and we'l
l discuss it by the way anybody who's watching us on YouTube We Appreciate You tuning in a couple quick reminders one of the reasons why you're hearing some edits is because we have to block music if you are really looking to be immersed very much like the Vision Pro I encourage you to join us anytime at create hackathon.com createhackathon.com if you just simply go there you're going to be on board with 35 people in the room with us right now and growing but we spend the first 10 minutes just t
alking to yes talking about the latest trends and all the while shout out to people in the chat like Todd sickmiller and I see I see Lawrence I see Nick hey Nick what's up man how are you Lawrence how are you if you can't hear anything make sure you check your Zoom settings I see you in the chat I am active in the chat with you but just keep in mind that we have a crate to hack and that's one of the reasons why you're here I brought in a very special guest and we're about to bring him in in just
one second but just so you know we want you all to go to creativetheweek.com do that again do that again do it again one more time we finally have our jingle you gotta wait for it shout out to DJ Jim for that Gem of a jingle we needed that go to creatortheweek.com you can unlock two song Choices to view tonight's crate we want to give you a chance to vote for your favorite crate and vote for your favorite songs and just interact with the DJs at hand crateoftheweek.com here's our formula here's
our formula it's 60 40 all the way through and through plus some song suggestions from our special guest and let me just put that up on the screen right now we're doing a kids crazy hackathon a kids create hackathon it's really surprising because I've heard this guy's podcast before and I'm like why they should we tuck the kids in bed is it going to be one of those kind of parties but I don't know let's see what he has to say but DJ ESG brought us this idea and he really wants to hack a kids cra
te but before we unleash the microphone on them we have them muted right now because the dude is like a cannon he'll go off I'm just waiting for the spark to light off but formal introduction 30 years in the business trained by Bobby morgenstein he has over 4 000 events under his belt 2500 of them believe it or not have been Mitzvahs so that's huge any we've had a lot of people in our chat and in the group asked for more Mitzvah experts we've found them for you 2500 Mitzvahs under this guy's bel
t he's straight out of Philadelphia started at 13 years old and he has a podcast known as The honestweddingadvice.com Honest wedding advice.com nine time djmc of the year for the DJ times he's been a finalist and he still has yet to blow up Joe buns car yet being the key word Eric yeah Eric Scott gold ESG welcome to the hackathon that last bullet point was just for you but that's cool I'm good so you're based out of Philadelphia right outside Philly in the little suburban area where we got six o
r seven big Mitzvah companies sitting there for the last 30 some years so it's a fun time to be a DJ because you and I are about the age where we're about the same age as the parents and the kids just are off entertaining themselves but you I think I connect more with parents at Mitzvahs just because we're about that same age and I have a daughter and I get it and they get it you get that too I get it now because when I was younger the kids didn't have a cell phone so it was like when you're 13
years old you're literally going on 13 years old now when you're 13 you're going on 21 Mom and Dad aren't really cool anymore oh yeah and you know it's a whole different environment but I do get along really well with the parents because I do follow Tick Tock which is going to be a lot of songs Tonight are going to be Tick Tock related the kids are I don't know what you can really say they're if you can follow their error verbiage in their language and you can get along with both ends of it but
if you're not if you're not on the level of the kids and level adults at the same time it's a tricky situation but I do get along really well with the moms and they are my age you've been doing this for a good majority of your life and so you've seen Trends come and go we'll get into games and talk about interacting with kids a little bit after we see the crate but what trends have you noticed you said the cell phone and I got to think and that's got to be a major shift in the way kids were stay
ing engaged on the Dance Floor anything you're seeing beyond that I'm seeing that the kids are dressing up a little bit more than they used to I'm seeing that the boys and girls Dynamic is a little bit different than it used to be where back then it was boys and girls separated go to the bathroom together you have girls on this side Boys on this side now they're more together their attention span is zero so they have zero attention span to do anything getting in and out of songs quick mixing whe
n you're not playing songs that they know is imperative when you have kids because they get bored of a song really quick which I think is why Tick Tock is so big with the teenage demographic and it's just a lot of that and they're parents or their friends now they're not their mom and dad they're their friends so the parents are more inclined at these events with these kids to more party with them as opposed to separately I see that I'm seeing the same thing too and again just the rapid attentio
n span especially when there's sugar involved now we're going to talk about any kind of kids party but especially with bar mitzvahs or any misses for that matter it's sugar overload Central so you're dealing with caffeine sugar music lights game it's like herding cats I would assume I had a 13 year old two weeks ago on edible so it's not it's not unheard of it's not unheard of I don't even know how I don't even know how or that's another story in itself the edible till I was 30. come on some par
ents are blaming it on the vaccine but some parents are blaming it on the fact that they're leaving it on the table and the kids are just taking it there's that too there's that too holy moly like I said you might want to put the kids to bed let's go ahead and go to create the week.com DJ Jam DJ jam oh sorry I was making another jingle for Glenn but he's got one job this guy a little weak I'm making Jingles over here com I love that little pause where we can say something in between I love that
creatortheweek.com takes you over to this uh locked page again if you're a hacker full and well that this is your chance to give us input what we have behind closed doors here it well here ESG explain we have your song suggestions behind closed doors tell us what picture we're about to paint once we unlock it I gave you guys a whole bunch of songs that I thought were going to be good like line dances sing-alongs and all that kind of jazz I left the Taylor Swift category open because I know there
's a lot of that coming around nowadays but there's a lot of stuff that you're going to see on there that's Disney oriented that's Kitty oriented that's sing-along oriented that's poppy oriented because the kids like pop music and then you're going to see some Tick Tock stuff okay but please add to that because I left some stuff open so people can actually add their favorites okay then let's pull in a hacker and help us unlock this Jade out come on mute your mic buddy give me two song Choices le
t's okay let's try and paint this picture 13 year old kids they just came back from the chocolate fountain and they had a nap earlier so they're really full of energy give me two songs that we would play Jay I play Baby by Justin Bieber all the time good choice I like that one that works Misfits every time and throw baby shark in there because now it's a throwback and we've been getting listen we've been getting a lot of requests for it I don't know why again it's because like my daughter she's
14 years old that was the music she grew up with she was five when that song came out so this is memories for her now it's crazy it's crazy okay so let's unlock it and so again you're looking on the left hand side here oh look we're getting some activity we're already getting some great activity on the right hand side which we'll focus on in a minute but for those of you who are in the chat and if this is your first time in the hackathon let me go ahead and explain you're seeing esg's song sugge
stions on the left hand side and then you're going to see the leaderboard of suggestions much like I just did with Jay so Jay just unlocked the crate his songs are in here somewhere and it looks to me like David Roman currently has the top spot he's currently got the top spot and he's looking pretty good with the what's that let me pull the song down all right Justin Timberlake number one on the leaderboard right now I love it I still cannot get enough of it I still played at weddings David you'
re leading the top spot with three likes I'm gonna give it a thumbs up as well that's exactly what people can do in the chat so if you would like head over to createoftheweek.com and vote your favorite songs up but I'm gonna take a minute and ESG I'm gonna slowly scroll down and just keep talking me through what you've built for us what do you see what I see here is I see a lot of a lot of the standard line dances then you go into the YMCA which is line dance there's some Taylor Swift there some
Miley Cyrus Hillary Duff which is all Disney based the Mariah Carey song which is the big one from November until January and then you see a lot more stuff from Disney right now obviously the under the sea and what's that little mermaid that's huge because it's all over theaters right now and then a lot of stuff from Glee when you have younger kids from first grade to fifth grade they're any song that's an older song that was redone in that show Glee the kids are still into it there's Kitty Bop
there's a lot of other the Pokemon theme song is still good everything is awesome it's still great there's baby shark so you're gonna start seeing the emergence do you believe in magic by Ali and AJ that was an older one better when I'm dancing is a big one if you take if some of these kids take dance classes and now you start to see the Kidz Bop stuff so you guys know a lot of these songs good for you levitating Dynamite blinding lights but at the same time time they're redoing it so they're m
ore Kitty friendly so for some odd reason little kids like when they hear younger people like you would see in like Blues Clues and shows like that on Saturday morning cartoons but as you keep going Imagine Dragons sing along soccer I haven't seen soccer but Jonas Brothers in a while but sorry about Justin Bieber despacito was a big one for a while Mambo Number Five anything you can get the kids going to Let's Twist Again is easy because you just tell the kids to move in a circle but that's wort
h 12 this that's more 12 to K to five once you get above K to five and you're six to eight which is more so Middle School it Clips a little bit so you can see where the sixth to 8th grade the key to fifth kid to sixth grade are separate you put some thought into this doesn't change much either because sometimes these things are just Timeless and you absolutely not much to offend I think that's key to is so many songs out there have innuendo that could make parents a little cringy kids wouldn't n
otice but you were really mindful of that you took a into consideration the content of the lyrics more so I noticed that I don't have Soulja Boy in there like that's something that you can't do hey let's Crank That tour like a second grader but a song Like Love Shack or Dancing Queen they haven't seen that movie in a while now a song that's not in here that I didn't put in here yet that's going to be in here in about a month is Barbie girl because when that oh yeah Barbie girl is going to be hug
e that song is going to blow up again and aqua's gonna make their money all over again like Mariah Carey makes every December so that song Barbie girl is going to be humongous it's going to be on Kidz Bop it's going to be remix you guys should start making your mashups now because that's always going to be everywhere I'm a grown man am I okay to actually be excited about that movie I don't know know what it is it just yeah Will Ferrell you got I don't know something about I never picked up with
Barbie doll in my life but you have kids just blame it on that just say okay yeah yeah I'm taking my I'm taking my kid to see it absolutely that's your excuse oh you're watching Bobby girl that's exactly the reasonable I'm like here in your case it's like this all the way down here a little bit different story but yeah eating popcorn just enjoying the film yeah absolutely but just watching Remember Barbie girl is about to be humongous so get that you got any kids no I don't I'm 44 with zero I'm
I give I I give discounts on second marriages and that's my experience something about just entertaining the kids you you say yes to a lot of Mitzvahs what's the passion what's the drive when I was younger when I was 13 years old I was Bar Mitzvah then Bobby morgenstein who some of the younger people on this chat might not know who that might not know that name he was the first ever from what I understand Mitzvah DJ inducted into the DJ Hall of Fame he's also the person that used to have the 20
CDs and all the DVDs I've had to do everything back in the 90s he was a huge name he was probably the biggest Mitzvah name back in the 90s probably next to maybe Randy Wright Johnny Kelly and some of those other people and it was funny because I was taught by the best who I didn't know was the best at that time I was like wow this is like the king of the barn by Mitzvah you got literally DVD tapes and CDs that are out explaining people how to do this we would go to conventions in Atlantic City a
nd he would sell this stuff and people would buy it like hot cakes it was like you couldn't download from YouTube back then you had to literally buy everything so he actually made money so he taught me for a long time he taught me for about six or seven eight years how to do this and I was lucky to have learned from him and then am I long story short I was his youngest MC ever 17 years old at Camden Yards in Baltimore I got a chance to emcee a 300 person wedding because he got food poisoning if
anybody's from Baltimore there's a place out next to Cameron yards called pickles Pub he got a burger there got food poisoning wound up in the bathroom on the floor and I lied to the mom and told her I was 24 years old I was 17. I had nothing to lose so yeah I've been doing this for six years yeah everybody here comes Terry here comes circus appearance and I did this whole Mitzvah it was great but I was so lucky and then I fell in love with the kids I fell in love with hanging out with the kids
and being part of the kids and then talking to them like have you ever seen NCIS when Gibbs smacks something that got the nose on the back of the stupid dumb and then I borrowed them and I give them back no it's like I have them for five hours and I give them back oh that's the best part too you get to give it back you don't have to get back but then you see him the next week on the Mitzvah circuit because now it's the next one's Mitzvah oh hey yeah you guys again but that's a beautiful thing no
wonder you did 2500 because one parent leads to another parent who recommends you to another parent I'm sure at some point you're just the top of the Town back in the 90s no back in the 90s you did a double on Saturday and one on Sunday Friday night Mitzvahs were unheard of and Bobby was so popular that he used to do three a weekend just himself he had seven or eight or nine DJs at MC's so we used to go out with him and I would be a dancer a DJ an MC a co-mc he would all of a sudden we would ge
t to the actual like the actual game part we do Coke and Pepsi and all that stuff and Bobby would be like I'm gonna go get food you guys do this and then he would come back and he would do like the Motown skit with the sequins and leopard things and I just fell in love with the whole idea of it I could see it I could see it it's really cool that's why I got this I was like I'm freaking nuts it's fun to have you on it's definitely a pleasure having you here and I want to continue on with the conv
ersation and pack a little deeper you want to play a game with me I'll play whatever game you want all right hanging out with ESG it's a kid's crate hackathon we're gonna go back into the crate and we're gonna play another round of one's nose ones and nose works like this let's say we're at a kid party right this kid party is just out of control crazy and then suddenly you realize oh dang the song is just about over I don't know this song's gonna work next should I play a song that's where we de
cide one's a nose we're gonna bump it or dump it essentially we're gonna play it off and then you tell me it should stay or if fish go away it's ones knows so everyone in the chat by the way I ignoring oh did you notice there's a different backdrop you have a different backdrop I got a different backdrop you're not really in front of Disneyland here are you no hold on no okay so now see I am yeah so I'm actually anybody familiar with where Dollywood is Dollywood that's you want to talk about kid
s Paradise so Kevin knows yeah so I'm about 12 miles away from Dollywood it's all about the kids but we're gonna go ahead and I'm gonna share my screen and everyone in the chat with me like Todd and Nick and Tyrone and Kevin you're all going to go ahead and do one or a zero every time we push play on a song ESG tell me when to stop stop okay so it's gonna land on oh okay perfect timing we're in a Little Mermaid Mania everyone's going crazy about the new film let's see if you would still play thi
s song for kids [Music] zero Jim says zero Nick says one Ken says zero Christy says zero a lot of zeros even the movie in theaters really kindergarten kindergarten through third grade there you go I gotta paint that picture that's right think about this your kids we have some cynical old people on the chat tonight no I'm kidding let's just keep playing this and see if there's any other songs that resonate with our audience tell me when to stop ESG stop we're gonna go to the Bare Necessities by P
hil Harris again all this Disney stuff is K to three hunger line from him Kevin yes Charles says one this song just brings back good like warm memories Nostalgia at least for me for the kids it's just you pay for Disney plus don't you I just canceled it you had it though yeah yeah I go on waves every time a new Mandalorian season comes out then I'm back on okay one more you're catching on let's play one more round and then we'll go back into some more tips and tricks with ESG tell me what to sto
p go to the bottom stop okay oh Count On Me by Bruno Mars fun all right cool [Music] Christy says [Music] [Music] depends on the party could go either way this is the exact opposite this would be six through eight because the younger ones aren't going to know it got it you thought about this you have a 30 years how's your music organization I got great hackers ah good answer no it's really it's funny you say that because people say to me all the time like the whole like a whole like Serato face
thing there's a lot going on up here and I over the years you just know what goes with the next one and I have this knowledge of 30 years worth of Knowledge from kids all the way up to weddings I think it it started here and it's moving up like I'm now doing weddings of kids it was like Mitch's I did which is one thing but you know I'm doing different parties like school dances Middle School Elementary School proms are a whole different you can't even take anything above 8th grade or 12th grade
you put this in the category they'll boo you out of the door if you play any of this stuff but anything below middle school before they transition over and see oh my God the girls were different now oh there's new boys you know what I mean mom leave me alone no more self all the moms and dads are like what happened to my kid they discovered boys and girls I wonder bill went up 25 million dollars get him out of the shower so I listen I'm you asked I'm very Brash you've seen every possible scenari
o I'm sure you've been through scenario I'm sure but walk me through the worst possible one like where walk me through a crash and burn scenario where you had kids that were either doing something you were expecting worst case scenario maybe you saved it maybe you didn't okay I love hearing stories like this here's the best part about or the worst part about Mitzvahs versus versus weddings a wedding is not a circuit a wedding is a one and done you might get a family member or a friend there's no
specific order to a wedding a Mitzvah you start in September you go until the end of December the kids were bored they won Hanukkah they want Christmas nowadays everybody has a Hanukkah blush you go from you go from September until December then you take a break January and February in my area which is Philly because people are afraid of the winter which we haven't had snow in two years if you're in Florida Texas California it's just all year long and then the states that kind of surround that
Canada I have no idea it's like two months a year and then you go from like March until June and then all the and then by the time June hits the kids are bored shitless so I don't want to deal with any of this anymore you guys are are all killing me leave me alone I don't want to go to One More Bar Mitzvah if you have a mitzving June you're just done you're an emcee or a DJ you're just you're already walking to the most horrible situation humanly possible because these kids don't even want to de
al with anymore I'm done with the midst of circuit leave me alone no more line dances no more Tick Tock no more candle lighting stop it stop and then you go because then what happens is from July through August they have what's called overnight camp and Day Camp so then they go and they do that and then they come back in September for school again so the worst situations that I always encounter are June and I can tell you stories between here back to 1992 and the best ones are always September b
ecause it's brand new so you walk into a September wedding even around the two of the September misfire around Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah which happened in the middle of September there was like the two biggest like Jewish holidays other than Hanukkah and Purim then you have this big oh it's brand new it's great so as you go longer in the year they get it's almost as a wedding DJ when you have a wedding in the summertime it doesn't get laid and the room's dark at 10 o'clock at night and there'
s no vibe in the room at all imagine that in June with kids imagine having a room that's light that's what you're getting versus having a room in February where it's pitch dark at four o'clock and all of your up lights are like boom like 100 and they make yeah make the most sense so kids are a pain in the ass in June you get a June this way just say no they're also really difficult when it comes to song requests or let's say there's a lot of ones and zeros on the dance floor in real time how do
you navigate through different genres because kids are going to be listening to different things that the other kids are listening to how how do you even do that K through six or K through five depending upon what your elementary schools are that's where you do a three song thing where you basically have to keep their attention the entire time you play a song you play another song you play a third song but you're not a DJ you better be out there on the floor with them holding the microphone up l
etting them sing doing line dances letting them follow you and then maybe if you do two of them then you can have one song in between where you play it and the parents or the PTO or staring at you like okay they're not dancing for one song they're just doing their saying the MC or DJ has little is that like chaos happen Okay I just did two then you come back to the then you come back and you do the one the two and then you so it's like a three song and a three song that's brilliant when they're
in when they're oh I thank Bobby for that one when they're in middle school then you have this different scenario where they just wanna somewhat dance with their boyfriends or girlfriends if they have it but they still want to have fun so depending upon if you have a 13 year old or a 12 year old or a 14 year old going on their age or going on Mom's age you have to play the play the back and forth these kids hate country music they're not they're not country music fans unless it's those two songs
where the one song where they talk about uh Applebee's I forget what that's called and that one and then anything like anything current by like Morgan Wallen what the kids might listen to but they're really right now Taylor Swift is the big thing Megan Trainer used to be the big thing this movie now is the big thing for the younger kids so you have to go off of what's now because I'm like a wedding where it's about 2000s 2010s these kids are about today what have you done for me today what's on
the radio today and if it's a year old I don't want to hear it screw you K-pop and Hyper pop either BTS was humongous when they came out with dynamite the second one was it lemonade it wasn't as big and the new ones like so so lizzo was humongous these kids loved lizzo they could all relate to lizzo and then you can't then Megan nastalian came out with WAP and then the parents finally were like yeah and I'm like no I did see a Kidz Bop version of that um talk to me about shyness kids who are ju
st having a difficult time on the sidelines how do you make the kids who just don't want to dance feel engaged or welcome if you're doing a Mitzvah that would be with your dance staff that would be having your dance staff go over there and try to engage them on a personal basis but a lot of times when kids don't want to participate you can't be overbearing with them because there's a reason not all kids are a type A not all kids are a type B not all kids are outgoing some kids are introverts it
just depends on the child and if the child doesn't want to dance or doesn't want to be part of what's going on you could try to appoint but you also don't want to embarrass them because if you embarrass them then they feel then it's just and that's why I also run I didn't it's not part of this but I also run an anti-bullying organization where I actually help kids who get bullied and a lot of these kids who are shy and introverted are the kids that just don't understand how to be social so that'
s not really a musical thing that's that that's more of a parenting issue and a school thing but you still want to if you have props and prices to give out you still want to go over there and hand it to them but you don't want to you don't want to make them the center of attention you don't want to try to rip them up and bring them on the Dance Floor you just want to include them without being overbearing yeah it's a great advice it really is it's getting a lot of great chat people are saying th
is is great info keep it up we'll do a q a by the way anybody in chat if you're ready to start thinking about your questions I want to encourage you to get ready we'll do a little something in about 10 minutes here but with any kind of questions I want to keep this kids crate related I did have a few other questions games besides seven up but besides the freeze tag any new fun amazing interactive games that we could do with the children today I have learned that you don't want to fight against i
t you want to go with it and what I mean by that is kids are on their cell phones 24 hours a day seven days a week now the cell phone are more interesting to them than actual real television which is probably why you canceled Disney plus there was no reason for this school on YouTube and Tick Tock yeah kids are I was doing a game where I used a cell phone to my advantage where I found 10 different things in the actual venue and I said here's a photo on the wall I said the first person that the f
irst team that comes back with all 10 of these pictures on their phone wins and then there was like like different teams and they had to run around and get pictures like a selfie with Grandma a photo of this picture a selfie with a chef and one Chef almost killed me for that one because he was going to use itself on your advantage nowadays with like Artificial Intelligence on the phone you could there's certain things like text into the DJ I've actually given out my phone number before and said
here left my phone next to the DJ and sat here just texting all the stuff you want my phone's blowing up moms are like I'm deleting this when they're done don't worry about it because I'm not buying some app just text my phone it is what it is you know and there's there's a lot of other things that that are possible at an event when it comes to games with your cell phone using that as like a trivia you can actually do nowadays there was that flip thing where they flip it up in the air and they h
ave to do like Charades with it you see a lot of people standing in line yeah I was at Disney World in February and that the whole time I'm waiting to go on the ride their kids are sitting there flipping the thing up yeah they're acting it out and I'm like okay so I made a game out of that where now there's four different teams and they're trying to act it out now they're playing yeah Nick called it heads up heads up so it's there's and then still Coke and Pepsi is still huge they still love tha
t game that's your version of seven of them and we need to do a hit we need to do a heads up hackathon heads up hackathon I will figure that out hey Glenn yeah build us the next app there's a ton of things you could do and nowadays also just so you guys know kids don't want gift cards they don't want prizes if they don't want any of that it doesn't that doesn't motivate a child what motivates a child nowadays cash so if I sit there and tell a mom give me 200 in cash for the prizes I'm gonna fan
that out front and be like this is what's up for grabs tonight and then all of a sudden they're motivated but if I hand out a Starbucks gift card they're gonna tell me to go pound sand because Mom and Dad are meeting with her because Mom and Dad will be waiting for them to turn 16 and the the Maserati's already in the driveway you know what I mean so Jim brought up a good point though gem saying Robux I can see that I got some kid coder friends who love those kind of things and playing the fortn
ite or gift game video game cards I could see that being a huge hit I'll just start handing out black cards I might as well there you go there you go you're hanging out with ESG and uh I want to put them on the spot really quick and just say listen man we're gonna bind because we get more and more Bar Mitzvah and Bar Mitzvah requests could I ask if you maybe some more crates in the future could we work on some together maybe sure and if you ever need me to come down there and show you how it is
in person all I want to do is see Dolly done guaranteed guaranteed if anybody has any questions listen this is a tough one because kids are tough kids are tough to DJ for and I want you all to pay attention to radio radio 10 minutes hard radio oh I love that we all I Heart Radio I Heart Radio he's gonna go ahead and host the Q a for us and then after that that radio but before we do that I do want to remind you 10 minutes from now we're going to reveal something I would like to think is pretty g
ame changing Glenn has created a brand new hack and the people who are on the chat I will be the only ones in the world to get it so we'll do that after our q a I Heart Radio take it away my bad all right now glad and enjoying this because you're used to you're just getting a lot of compliments in the chat like you're giving out some good info so this now is your time click on the reactions to raise your hand we'll call you up to ask your question we try to make it short so please ask a question
without a follow-up because we will meet you so that we can allow for another person to ask their next question nothing personal and nothing political please but definitely ask a question that will definitely you'll find helpful to you and when you hit your reaction raise your hand it'll look like Aaron's you see his hands displaying up on the screen and we'll call you yeah yeah actions tab and see this raise your hand we want to quite frankly I'm tired of talking so I'd like to have other peop
le join the chat and it's on that side all right on the other side am I reversed okay okay you're good point being Michael Jim go ahead and unmute yourself buddy come on in yeah what's up what up I got a man he's just giving a thumbs up I don't think I'm just playing with the reactions oh you are do you have any new Jingles for us I do but it's gonna wait until Glenn's reveal here yeah give me a little bit of pressure here I'm getting any hands I'm the chat I'm trying to scroll up to see if some
one asked a question earlier so I'm gonna ask a question I need some time yeah there there were quite a few questions that's what I was looking for but no I like what you're saying ASG like it's all really good stuff and you're getting good feedback too it's funny because I sometimes there's so much stuff that I can say asking one question or asking asking questions on a chat like this just to throw it out there like something that nobody actually asked but I can just throw it out there when you
're actually a DJ you're if you're just a DJ playing with kids you're gonna fail miserably you need to be an emcee you need to be somebody who's going to be out there with them as an interactive compliment versus somebody who's going to be back there playing on records I don't want to offend anybody unless you're at a skate I don't want to offend anybody but I'm going to give you guys until there's a question I'm going to give you guys something that happened to me back in 2009. so I had left my
city where I was and I moved to San Diego California for about three years and when I got there I met a couple DJs who were there and I started to work for a company called classy event group and the guy's name is Peyton Vincent really cool dude techie great guy he was the one that invented that spray photo booth where you can spray the spray can on and it was this big screen a great invention so I was working for him and I did the first job and I said why is the why are you why is the DJ stand
ing behind the booth and the dancers are out there he goes because we don't do the mcdj combo thing here we just do the DJ thing so I was like oh wow that's interesting why because that's just how we do it here I go okay so that was the year that Jersey Shore came out so I was like okay I'm gonna Bill myself in San Diego from being from the Jersey Shore the show's humongous I used what it was I was in Philly I was from Jersey from hanging out the shore but I was like okay I'm from I had a blowou
t don't tell him no no photos so I was like I'm from and I was building the fact I was from Jersey Shore so I started doing Mitzvahs out there as the MC and there was a DJ behind me who happened to be Peyton and I had two dancers and he went from having 15 Mitzvahs a year to having 140 the following year and then everybody in San Diego started to transform the way that they were doing Mitzvahs because they were like oh they had no idea they had no idea that I was like yeah I'm out front with the
people you guys are standing behind the DJ book so as soon as they started to have to have the two-man shows where they would be they would be out front and then somebody would be in the back they all started to blow up and there was like two or three companies out there that got really big when it came to Baron bar mitzvahs because the MC that was a DJ started to come out there and that's what the two-man show came from Concept in California in Southern California not L.A that was always there
but as you go like further down so if you're not an MC and you're just a DJ doing Kitty events it's very difficult to not have a glorified dancer or somebody out there on the microphone because these kids need constant attention do you need to have five six seven dancers no if you're a big enough personality to be able to Corral 300 kids you could do that there was somebody else who I just saw on this screen a couple minutes ago I just saw his face pop up he knows who I'm talking about he's fro
m he's from New York I've seen him on a YouTube video Corral about 350 kids just by using his own voice yeah and I've seen that happen so I you don't need to have five six seven eight dancers you and but if you're not an MCA and you're not a big personality you can hire one quote-unquote dancer and then be the DJ and then lead that dancer telling that person on the microphone what they need to do I think that should be just a quote unquote rule the rule of two should be for most teen dances kid
dances because there's a lot going on right now but not a problem no you're right there's a certain age group that just needs somebody out there to encourage them a little bit more and MC the middle school high school cut off is where it is once you get to high school you don't need somebody to direct you and what to do when you're young you just need parents to help out a little bit to be a little bit more interactive with what's going on which is why you see father-daughter dances in the eleme
ntary schools and not in the older schools because at that point in time it's I don't want to dance with you Dad awkward yeah it's awkward it's get off me you know I mean unless your dad's like the coolest thing in the world that's where it is it's grade school middle school and high school you can do three separate crates for these three different schools sure where Middle School is a hybrid all right good stuff and now we got some questions so we're going to bring on DJ Sig Miller have you on
mute good evening everybody hey good to see you man hey buddy so I guess this would be a what would you do type thing I do a lot of dances here in in the Middle Tennessee area for third fourth fifth graders and this last one I had was just a couple of weeks ago like you said I keep the floor packed I know what the kids want I know these kids I work with the youth at my church and stuff so I know but when I ran into this last time was the parents I had Parents coming up to me every third song pla
y this and it was stuff that I knew the kids were not going to dance to and I don't want to piss the parents off because it's part of the PGA and they're paying me but I'll give you an example I like to move it I've got them all out there dance to it and a mother comes up she insists she's put says put on Britney Spears hit me one more time and I'm like and I told her I said if I do that it's going gonna clear the floor no my daughters love this you watch it you watch so I purposely did it I wai
ted about three or four songs and I put it on and sure enough it gave the kids time to go to the bathroom and everything else because I had about five parents out there dancing to it and then that kind of helped it a little bit but I'm just I was just curious if you've run into it or folks on the call run into that and how do you handle it I just stayed professional with them and just explained to them what was going to happen if I did how would you handle it ESG you have a three basically it's
good at that age because you're able to basically turn around and say okay the kids forget three seconds later they're not the ones booking you so if even if you play a song that the kids don't like and there's five parents dancing they're not gonna remember that three minutes later anyway so you're not gonna go home to Mom and Dad and be like the DJ sucks I mean they're just gonna you play the next song so there's a little more forgivability so you made Mom and Dad happy or you made mom happy a
nd her five friends the kids left for a second the parents saw that the mom was out there dancing who was probably the one I would have probably said and now the request for this one just a cheese ball thing so everybody knew that it wasn't me you ever go to a wedding and somebody asked you for a song you just want to hold up a sign this is really big that's like on a freaking white this is not the one I chose I didn't want this one they did this was for Aaron and you're like okay Parts like the
Dead Sea all of and then all of the the pressure is now off you you just say hey this is this is whatever but the kids are so forgiving they forget so I understand at a wedding it would be frustrating because now you have people that are going to go on social media play this kids aren't going to do that so it's a little more easier to forgive that one so I would just do it and just be like and then just laugh in the background behind your breath like I told you just look just to just look at th
em and be like you know what happened Michael made a good point he was on gilban's broadcast earlier with knowledge was online and he he said he would hype up the song and how she loves this song and that you want to see everyone dancing with her I was just about to mention that because knowledge I was just about to mention that because I heard that part of what knowledge was saying and I was like yeah that's this is a request for this person how many times do you want to hold up a whiteboard at
an event to tell everybody that's on the Dance Floor the next song that you're playing you didn't pick it there was somebody that was on DJ idea sharing the other day and I was just reading his post and he said what do you do when the groom's playlist is so terrible but he asked you to play it and then you have to play it if there's an answer and I'm looking at this thing and then he starts and then he comes in the comments and he goes the groom but then he kept telling me to skip song Skip son
g so we put this whole playlist together and I would play a song and the song Would through the ends for it and he'd say skip it and I finally looked at him and I'm like what am I supposed can you come over here and tell me what to skip ahead of time because I don't know what to skip right now every song you have it sucks and you're telling me to skip them all so I'm reading the comments and I'm like yeah yeah pretty much pretty much at that point in time that's it's the groom and then people ar
e gonna go home like that DJ sucked and it's all over social media you're this guy was terrible but what I want to write is the groom's an idiot and decided that he wanted to put all these alternative songs that didn't make any sense and forced me to play them now am I still an idiot no I think we just have to be a little braver and ballsier with that initial talk when you have that conversation with the bride or groom is it I've been in stuck at this situations like that before and the Father o
f the Bride will walk up and say I want you to change this because it's not working and even I would agree you just have to be point blank with them during the consultation and say this will in my experience has not worked I don't think this music's going to work well that's my pocket that's my I finally after 30 years was like I'm done this is driving me nuts and I have this podcast that he was telling you about it's called honestweddingadvice.com it only that's the website it only has about 30
episodes but it's got 30 straight episodes and I'm gonna I'm gonna go 365 days plus with an episode every single day and I'm gonna hit that Mark without missing a day I'm Jewish so I'm gonna do it on Christmas too and but it's everything that I like want to say that I've never said there you go and that's me and my wife and she thinks I'm crazy that's why she's looking at me like nuts and I turn around I go okay and one of those on there if you scroll down it says tipping etiquette so I'll send
this to all my brides and grooms prior to the event and say here here's my honest wedding advice take a look at this if you have any questions let me know the Tipping etiquette one is great I just tell you how it is there it is right there and I've got my last nine events I've got tipped nine times so I've got nine tips out of nine events just by basically sending this over wow and saying this listen without pointing out that but they've scrolled it I've made over 3 500 this year so far in tips
just from January through now I have no issue saying next my wife took it all but it's but it's one of those things where I'm gonna tell you how it is because after 30 years this is what I want to say and this is how it has to be said and nowadays if you're just blunt and Brash with people they're more inclined to be real with you and then be honest with you and then to accept what you're saying versus 20 years ago it was offensive yeah I think it was offensive yeah how many people online will
go on a Facebook story and look at it maybe but then if somebody posted pictures of some girl's chest or some guy half naked you'll go on there if there's girls on here I can't tell and you'll go on there and you'll look and you'll be oh I'm gonna click that so now I have 50 people looking at this Facebook story of me DJ and 400 people looking at this of this girl that I posted and people are like why do you do that I do it on purpose I do it on purpose because now if they're going online to loo
k at this half-naked girl and I have 450 people who are staring at this guess what the next slide is me DJing a wedding well that's exactly what Mike Walter does if anybody follows Mike Walter he's very obvious about it and he's even Point Blank said it himself the bee's nest just to get you to talk it's the only way that the algorithm is going to work is if we get the conversation going so it's either going to be something offensive or something beautiful to look at or it's just something of a
big conversation on purpose I purposely put something up there so people will look at it because what's the next thing they're going to do is right click or right hit the phone and what's the next thing my actual post that I actually want you to see do me a favor let's put a pin on that and get one more question I'm gonna let you two handle that and then I got hopefully a solution to a lot of our problems with glenranda next go ahead radio let's bring Charles in have you unmute thanks for waitin
g so we don't have a lot of bar mitzvahs in our area or any type of and we're wondering how do we Market that for an area that's we're in Oregon we're in Northwest Rural Oregon actually the first thing is are there is there a big Jewish client is there a are there synagogues there there's one one in the county okay you got to make best friends with that you have yeah we have a synagogue every two miles here it's there's synagogues everywhere but nowadays A lot of these kids aren't even going to
synagogue they're either doing it online or they're doing it on they're doing it like special where they actually meet with a rabbi before their Mitzvah and have meetings with them but it's one of those things where if you don't have the clientele it's hard to Market it because then they're just not there you have to literally find like the niche of where the Mitzvahs are happening so if there's if you let's say for argument's sake you're recommended in five venues I'm just gonna throw a number
out there ask the five venues do you guys do a lot of Barba Mitzvahs if they say no then they're not getting the clientele either you know what I mean so it's if you don't have the market there I live an hour and a half from Lancaster PA which is Amish Country I don't have any Amish people here but I have them all out there in Lancaster so if the market isn't here if the Market's out there for that particular base of population it's not going to happen here I mean so I don't know what your popul
ation is like I've never been to Oregon so I don't know what that kind of population is out there but if you don't have a Jewish population it's hard it's tough I go after the Quinceaneras at that point in time for hanging out with ESG and I'm slowly losing daylight here central time oh wait no I'm on Eastern time now aren't I I'm all thrown off here because it's between that I'm not in Nashville that's my point I'm currently in Gatlinburg Tennessee hanging out in the cabin and one of the reason
s why I want you to stick around just for a little while longer is because AI is coming AI is Big AI seems to be overshadowed by our Macintosh news yesterday at the developers conference but I still feel that there is some untapped Resources with last week's news AI just completely overtook so many conversations and without Apple's dominance we'd still be talking about it today I feel like we may have some potential with Cree hackers I don't want to bring Glenn Renda could we pin Glenn to the sc
reen really quick and oh boy no pressure catch me up because it's been a crazy week so many things moving in so many different directions but a lot of it the focus was artificial intelligence Glenn what's up with development yeah we've we like to say that we were doing AI before AI was cool our track match or a lot of our track search features are all based on machine learning based on the AI so we've been doing it for a while but we wanted to really dip our toe into something completely differe
nt and try to see how we could help DJs without having to go just searching through Google go searching through a lot of these kind of toxic Facebook groups which I try to stay away from it's one of the reasons why I love Craig so much we are starting to put together and I guess we could show it now go for it would you care yeah if you want to share on your side yeah share it on my side real quick here I wasn't ready by the way it's been not a it's been a while since we've heard from Glenn he's
been actively working behind the scenes with 4.0 but every so often something really exciting comes along and I'm like man stop what you're doing right now let's go focus on this just for a second and he whipped this up over the course of a weekend show us what you got yeah so we I don't know we try to plan out the 90-day plan the six-month plan and the year plan and we never stick to it because we always get something we're like oh no that's really cool let's do it right now yeah this is just s
omething we whipped up in the last couple days DJ about chat very simple chat yeah is it not a new jingle yeah so what is DJ the chatter we started it as a create hackers tech support thing sir so we could do things that are specific to Korean actor so how do I flatten a folder we'll just click enter there and give it a second it does have to think of course and there we go this is the exact directions excuse me within crate hackers to flatten a folder and you can continue asking the question it
is aware of the session so you can keep going back and asking it for additional information but what we thought was cool was why stop at crate hackers why not make this a place where you could ask questions and on gear and Hardware so let's talk about how do I loop on a DJ 1000 if I could actually type give this a second I want to show on my screen after it shares the answer yeah of course so there you go there's the exact answer these are a lot of the questions that we see on things like the V
irtual DJ support group we see these questions on the Pioneer support group and these people wait two days to get their silly post answered correctly while everybody else is going if you don't know how to do that you shouldn't be a DJ we're trying to get rid of that mentality around here one more thing here like how do I roll back sound switch let's just say I did it and I want to roll back sounds which we added I added this I didn't even know I added this actually I was gonna say this is new ye
ah yeah so there you go real simple so that this is live now we'd love for you guys to check it out it's just DJ it out chat and let us know what you think it's so cool okay hold on [Laughter] this is huge this is huge dude this is so big DJ dot chat okay so let me take you through where we're at right now with this arms race it's a race for information I'm seeing that more and more with AI it used to be social and likes and shares and influencers but now it's just a matter of who can get the in
formation the fastest and I'm not going to say we're gonna dominate the world but I am going to say that we are going to go heavily focused on future DJ and somehow the Collision Course between Ai and music we're gonna Glenn and I are gonna find that somewhere where we want to be known as the people you can count on when it comes to that intersection between the DJ and the future the artificial intelligence is obviously playing into that we're starting to see that with augmented reality and a ne
w developer conference updates from Apple there's some exciting things down the line but we're going to take every piece of new tech and think how can we use this to DJ I'm already thinking with these ski goggles that Apple just came out with how can I DJ with them with dj.chat how can I solve common so this is cool because put yourself in that position of you're at a wedding suddenly all of your DJ guys and girls are out in different parts of the market and they're too busy to answer your quest
ions and you don't want to wait for a reply from the Facebook private groups so you're just like I got a question I don't know go to the new URL you're still in our old am I close up okay DJ dot chat we changed it the last hour come on now yeah I know things move so fast let's think about question that we'd be stuck with let's go gear and Hardware chest me somebody test me in the private chat let's see what happens give me a question that we could ask this thing let's just see we're going to bre
ak this today Serato lock up okay good all right let's try that why is my Serato freezing my gear and Hardware though go to create hackers tech support that's okay though all right yeah I am on a Mac here and Hardware yeah because what I did was I uploaded a lot of the documentation but we did try to separate this into different categories and maybe as we go these are things that you guys tell us oh wow there you go antivirus software screen saver low power mode recommended to update Serato DJ L
ite okay so it's it's referencing DJ light while he's doing this too A lot of people are probably thinking why can't I just use chat GPT for this and there's a few reasons of course you can but check cheap only goes right now I think until July or June of 2021 something like that so we're missing almost two years worth of data number one and these are trained models so these are very specific to this answer if you try to ask it how to you know bake a wedding cake so let's take the latest the flx
10 just came out and on my Mac my flx 10 is a the flx 10 is brand new so let's just see what it does here check it out important information you should troubleshoot the issue USB cable yeah it's getting it yeah and it's and again this is a learning model so the more questions you ask it the more it's going to learn about the different situations that you're putting in so for example I wanted to have more than two links there so I'm like oh let me try a DMX and lighting thing and I just I just w
ent to a couple of sites that I know have a wealth of DMX tutorials and just bang just keep loading that stuff in and if anybody thinks that a couple people are joking about this taking away your job it ain't taking away your job Eric just showed just proved to you that there's nothing I can write there's nothing any programmer can write that's going to be able to take away the excitement the the connection that a real DJ makes it's just you just we joke about Serato face and this would be worse
than anything that has to do with sir out of the face right it's just playing a Spotify playlist at a bar mitzvah is not the same thing as ESG doing compartmental different experience hugely different experiences so you guys are now proving now that males in general men in general would actually prefer to speak to an AI chat bot versus someone in real life and it's mostly because of situations like this how many times we've been in a situation where we post a question either in the some Faceboo
k private group and we suffer the slings and arrows because we're asking a silly question oh you're a noob oh you're you use this why would you use this or somebody's second questioning you I would rather go to a chat bot to be honest with you and just get my questions answered and move on throughout my day without the drama hey Aaron real quick I just sent you a private message I'm going to put this out there to anybody if anybody would like because I got my dogs were literally screaming over t
here to me if anybody would like me to sit down with their company whether that be on Zoom or in person and go over all this with you guys in private free someone tells me we're going to be working a lot more with you Eric I appreciate you great whatever you guys know after doing this for 30 years I'll help anybody he's put his information in our chat and I've started for you guys to find it easily in the chat so virtual free of charge in person whatever you guys want to do I don't do where it's
too hot so I don't know the one in the chat let's get one in the chat for our guests tonight we're gonna wrap things up and send some love one more time on the way out the door one one one from David one from Jermaine one from Tyrone one from Bud one from Radio I Heart Radio jaydao Christy I love y'all thanks for hanging with us I'm losing daylight it's getting dark and I don't want to annoy my neighbors next door so I'm out of here we'll catch you again next week DJ dot chat and the future DJ
newsletter DJ DJ chat happy hacking day dot chat
