one thing I know for sure that little girl now has the entire city rooting for her inspired by the incredible true story of a hairdresser who single-handedly rallies an entire Community to help a widowed father save the life of his critically ill young daughter yeah this is exciting we are chatting live with two of the stars of ordinary angels in just a second but first here is a sneak peek officials are saying be prepared for what they're calling the worst blizzard in State history is it today
okay we'll be there you want to go on an adventure oh yeah we are joined Now by two-time Oscar winner Hillary swing Along with Reacher star Alan richson thank you both so much for joining us on Connecticut's Morning Buzz thanks for having us yeah thanks for having us now Hillary this is a story first of all coming out on Friday very exciting but of Love of the power of community of Hope could you explain to us uh in your own words really the the plot line here I know you have a very personal con
nection to it I do yes thank you um to me this is a powerful true story of a woman who is flawed and finding her way and going through the kind of dark night of her soul when she sees this young girl in need this family in need and finds her purpose through serving through serving them and helping them um she um uh you know is is is just this ordinary angel in in this beautiful way and reminds us of the goodness that is in all people if we really if we really show up um and as you said it also d
eals with um organ transplants and the importance of being an organ donor and how it saves lives my father was a recipient of a lung transplant and we were so grateful for that and um for that extra time he was given for the that gracious person this must be a very special project then for you this movie it's really about Community not being afraid to ask for help what do you hope that your viewers take away from this film yeah I think I think you said it um you know this is a call to action and
it reminds us that our our high calling as human beings is to love and serve one another you know and a lot of times we we qualify our our ability to serve others by going like I'm I'm broken too like I'm not ready to help or I'm you know I don't have the financial resources or whatever it is and so we withhold the ways that we can serve the world around us and uh this this reminds us you know to the person of Sharon uh there's the person of Ed who's uh very reluctant to open his hands and rece
ive you know that we don't have to be qualified just you know we have we should just be ready to give and receive love when we need it I love that and Hillary what I think is so special and really unique about this particular story it is a love story but it's not one that we're used to seeing it is platonic love uh which I think is really special special as well and an important message that we don't see very often inil that's right and that's that's true and that's something um that you talk ab
out a lot during your press and it's so rare it's like so many people were thinking in the end that we were going to come together you know we were both people in need and we we we get very close I mean Ed and Sharon get very we got close too but um they they get very close um through the story being told um and it would naturally you think go there but it's such a beautiful reminder that love comes in so many forms and it doesn't have to end in in a in a a relationship of of of you know like a
romantic a romantic thank you a romantic nature so it's it's love things in a lot of different ways I know in this film you're able to see the love between a parent and a daughter a love between friends a love amongst community members which really is a beautiful message actually on Connecticut's Morning Buzz where highlight in a local woman here in Connecticut who is right now in desperate need of a living liver donor so this interview really couldn't come at a better time yeah and Alan I know
you uh are a dad to three boys this must hit close to home not uh because of the the circumstances but to think that this could happen to someone's child it really adds that extra layer of emotion I would imagine no doubt I mean look I've got three boys um and uh while I'm breaking up fist fights most of the time I would there's no distance I wouldn't go to to save or rescue them you know I I I can't tell you how much I love my kids and um you know the the you know Ed the Ed Schmidt that I playe
d you know was was you know in a Race Against Time to save one of his girls and who wouldn't move Heaven and Earth um to do what they could to to help them but a lot of times we're helpless even against nature you know and um we need Miracles you know so um you know I felt the pain and the heartache of what he went through um to some small degree in this film and um at the end of the day you know the miracle is uh the love that Sharon gave him um you know with without just cause you know she jus
t because she could you know and uh so it's a reminder that we we never know what people are going through um you know sometimes people are afraid to ask or or don't know how um and but we all have needs you know and so we should just be looking for ways to serve those around us we are just human and the title it's perfect it's simple ordinary angel but reminds us that we are surrounded by ordinary everyday angels we thank you both for your time and obviously congratulations looking forward to s
eeing this hits theaters on Friday yes Hillary Swank alen richon thank you so much theaters on Friday on our website wtnh.com if you would like to watch we'll be right back stick with us
