4000 rupees just for a 0.5 km rickshaw ride. If anyone wants to be a millionaire they can come to New York and start riding a rickshaw. I am going to ride every public transport here today, No fixed motives. Let's see. They take a tip of 20-25 dollars at the end. Welcome to my new video. I'm in New York and today I will be exploring public transport. Unlike most places in the U.S, New York's public transport is really good. public transport in other places is very bad, you can't travel if you do
n't own a car. But in New York, it's entirely the opposite. You will find many public means of transport here. You will find the metro, ferries, subways, trains, and many others here. Trams don't run here but I will show you every means of transport available to travel in New York. New York public transport is controlled by MTA. Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Which is North America's largest transportation network. As you know New York is the most popular city in the world so transportat
ion is essential here. I am on the outskirt of New York City. It has Five sub-districts and they are Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island And I am 2 stations away from Queens. So New York subway services are not available here so I need to travel on a different train that is LIRR. This also comes under MTA. So I'm gonna hop on to LIRR and go to New York City. Then we will see different means of transport. MTA has an app to keep track of train time. I can see the timings of my tr
ain so the next train is at 4:46 p.m. and now it's 4:39 p.m. This is the letterbox here. United States Postal Service. There is the station but I need to go to that side so let me cross. The prices of tickets are different depending upon the time you are traveling, Peak hours, and Off-peak hours. Peak hour means office time which is from morning to evening. And Off-peak hours from 6 p.m. onwards. So now it's almost 5 p.m. The prices of tickets are different depending upon the time you are travel
ing. If you even get off at the next station during off-peak hours you will have to pay a minimum of 6 dollars. That is 500 rupees just for the next station. And if you are traveling during peak hours, you have to pay 12.5 dollars. This is the maximum rate. So I have to pay like 9.5 dollars as I am traveling far. There are many thieves here that even the dustbins are locked up. This train is way cleaner than the subways of New York. I will show you once I reach. This is really clean and it's a
good train. This is Pen station and it is one the popular station here. Everything is available here at a nearby distance. And in Manhattan too which is one of the districts of 5 and that is a place for tourists. New York has a different kind of smell especially the smell of weed as it is legal here. So there is a different smell on the roads. The train I boarded cost me 9.5 dollars which is 750 rupees in India. although it's costly, now I'm in Manhattan which is a place for tourists. All the fa
mous places are here. Empire state building, Skyline, and Statue of liberty are in between New Jersey and Manhattan. In today's video, I am gonna explore all the public transport and there is no fixed motive where to go This is Pen station and from here it takes 8 mins to walk to Time Square. Pen station has another subway but I will be taking it from here As you can see it's written subway. This is New York's metro line. Let's go to 1 number platform See the condition of the subways, no mainten
ance at all. I am not gonna make any negative impact on this video. I need to buy a ticket first as I didn't bring my card. You can buy a whole month's pass here. 1 dollar equals 80 rupees for the card and the rest is credit for subway rides. Once you swipe it costs 2.75 dollars which is 220 rupees and then you can get off at the next station or go further. This means you are charged the same for either 1 station or for 10 stations. And if you want to change subway then you have to another 2.75
dollars. The subways are divided into uptowns and downtowns if you want to go either up or down the city. So it's easy to recognize which train we need to board. We need to go to platform number 1 downtown. As we are going down from Manhattan towards the Statue of Liberty and Staten Island. So this is the subway, maybe this is the last stoppage from where we need to take a ferry. This is the subway station. In New York, there are many weird people around in subways. I don't know if I can see any
thing like that today but people here do crazy things. It's too noisy here, the rail tracks are not maintained and you can see rats even on rail tracks. This was the last stop. Let's go outside. Now I am in the extreme south of Manhattan and from here we need to take a ferry to Staten Island but I don't know from where. Hi! do you know from where can i get the ferry to Staten Island? Thanks, mate. Have a great day. This is the park's entry. The population of New York is almost 1 crore and most p
eople live in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I have heard, Here free ferries are available for people to go from here to Staten Island. Let's see. There are paid ferries by MTA but you can get the free government ferries at all times from here to Staten Island. And in the front I can see the Statue of Liberty, let me show you. This is the perfect time to sit here and enjoy the sunset. Many peoples are sitting here. there is the Statue of Liberty. Some people are even fishing here. There is the Staten I
sland ferry. This is the Staten Island ferry. I asked the policemen standing there. Here it's written that the Staten Island ferry runs 24 hours every day and for free of cost. The people are coming from the previous ferries and now we will be boarding. I think all the seats are full, let's see. there are some seats in the front. I remember the ferry which takes from Asia to Europe, It's something like that. That there is the Statue of Liberty. This is such a beautiful ride. I think this is the
best public transport in New York. We have reached Staten Island and the ferry is being parked. I should head downstairs. The ride was enjoyable. It was half an hour's travel and for free with beautiful views. The ocean and Statue of Liberty, it was beautiful Here in Staten Island, I couldn't find anything nearby so I googled and found out that there are some parks and theatres here. In which I don't have any interest to go. So it's getting dark so let's head back to Manhattan and let's see wher
e else we can go by public transport. Here there are many factory outlets so I bought a jacket from Tommy Hilfiger. I thought let me buy something before going. Now let's head home and will continue the video tomorrow. Till now we have ridden in LIRR, subways, and ferries. In New York City you can travel more excitingly by city bike. Here as you can see there are lots of city bikes I think these are electric bikes, but I'm not sure. I don't know let me see. I have never used this before. No expe
rience. 15 dollars/day. Enjoy unlimited 30 mins rides for 24 hours in classic bikes. You have to pay 15 dollars and then you can ride 30 mins. And then you have to park and for the rest, you don't need to pay. These are parked here and there are private bikes too. for cycles, there is a different lane. But it's not available in the whole city, only nearby. In Germany, you will find a lane for bikes around the city. It's electric, I was confused before. You don't need to download any extra app fo
r city bikes, you can do it through the LYFT app. It's almost like Uber. Bikes are available in the LYFT app. and if you lose it you will be fined 1200 dollars which is 1,00,000 rupees in India. Extra fees for riding more than 30 mins. You can't leave it unattended, you need to park it back. If the station is full use the screen to get 15 mins for free. For some reason, my internet is not working properly. So the app didn't work properly. So I decided to walk and let's explore other options. So
now I am in Time Square as you can see. Most popular square in the world. Mostly there are ads here that make it popular. See the crowd, it's 5:15 p.m. now. My motive to come to Time Square is to travel in a Rickshaw. you can get local rickshaws here. So I will take a rickshaw to Central park. Let's see the rates of rickshaws here. There is a rickshaw on the other side. I have come here at least 10 times mostly in this area. Mickey mouse is standing here. How much do you charge? I asked them how
much they charge on average, and they say just tip. But in the end, they ask for 20-25 dollars. 1500-2000 rupees just for a picture. Mate, I wanna go t Central Park. Inside? No, outside. Just outside, okay. How much? How much per min? 6 dollars/min. It's less than a mile, yeah it will take 8 mins. Man, that will be like 50 dollars. That's expensive, I can pay 20 for outside Central Park. Ahh, that's okay thank you. He told us we charge on a min basis which is 6 dollars/min. I told him it was l
ess than a mile, and he says it will take 8 mins. 8*6 = 48 dollars. 48 dollars which is 4000 rupees in India just to travel 700 meters in a rickshaw. As you can see these are private bike rentals. The rates are not written. Can I have one of these? An adult is for 1 hour? 45 dollars for the whole day. But city bikes are cheaper right, it's like 15 for the whole day. Can I take the pamphlet? do you have an extra one? Okay, Thank you. Have a great day! This was costly, 45 dollars for the whole day
and 15 dollars for an hour. But in city bikes, you can't ride more than half an hour continuously but in this, you can. In the front is Central Park. This is the south entrance. Events are common in Central Park, people come here for picnics and there is a playground inside. And there is a lake and a castle named Belvedere Castle. There are many rickshaws here too. The city bikes are available in the central park. There are horse carriages here. There are many here, let's go and ask the rate. H
ow much is the price? 63 dollars for 20 mins ride? Yes. Don't you have cheaper rides than this? No. Alright. That's a beautiful horse. Thank you! So guys it's 63 dollars for 20 mins ride. The cheapest one. So that's 5000 rupees in India for 20 mins ride in a horse carriage. But still cheaper than a rickshaw. it was 4000 rupees for 8 mins. Wonderful. See the skyline of Manhattan. I forgot to mention that New York is walk-friendly. You can walk your way as it is very organized here. Streets, avenu
es, and pavements all are organized. Just a problem here that is, it smells a lot here due to the garbage and weed. And if you can walk then you can go around the city in an hour. Someone is riding on a horse carriage. And these are still searching for people. He too has the same rates. So now I am going towards Rosevelt tramway station and I am gonna board a tram. And it will be worth it other than all the public transport. Like the ferry which was for free but this cost 2.75 dollars same as su
bways. So we will go and board a tram but it's 1 km away from here. We haven't yet boarded a bus or taxi so let's see if we can get a taxi to the station. In the front is Apple 5th Avenue from where I bought my iPhone. from here I bought my iPhone. Roosevelt tramway is less than a km so I didn't waste money on taxis. There are 3 options for taxis here. One is Uber which runs on the whole world. Other than that you can use the LYFT app. And the 3rd option is offline taxi booking, these yellow tax
is as you can see. You can book them and they ride on a metered basis. This is the tramway. It runs from here. So it was almost 1 km from central park to the tramway station And it would be 12-13 dollars on Uber or LYFT approximately. Which is 1000 rupees in India for a 1 km ride on Uber or LYFT. If you would take offline taxis it would cost pretty much the same. Although it's cheaper than rickshaws. The cheapest ride was the free ferry and you can take the subway or city bikes here. It's best i
f you are walking. Or you can ride a taxi. Avoid riding on horse carriages and rickshaws. In New York wherever you see a bench you will see a stopper in the middle of it. Many homeless people sleep on benches overnight so to avoid that they placed a stopper in between. You can call this Anti homeless bench. As the video is getting quite long so I will be covering the tramway in the next video And I have shown you many transport options like subways, rickshaws, trains, horse carriages, taxis, and
many others. So let's end the video here. I hope you like it. Thank you so much for watching. Have a great day! Good-bye!

@statesman01

The chain on the trashcans at the station are not to prevent them from being stolen. The chain is only so it is not pushed on to the tracks by mischief making teens and/or drunks. The trash cans are also chained in a way that they cannot be tipped over on their side. There is a known case of a homeless man with some mental illness in the Upper East Side of NY who is a habitual trashcan tipper i.e. he likes to knock over garbage cans just for the heck of it.

Dude, the lock on the trash can is not because there are "aise aise chor" America..this is because to prevent an accident due to wind or force created by a passing train or heavy weather so that they don't fall on tracks resulting in an accident
