in this video I'm going to share with you exactly how much YouTube paid us for 1 million shorts views we'll dive into YouTube shorts monetization how you can 10x your short form revenue and how shorts Revenue compares to long form videos let's get into it to start earning money on YouTube shorts you first need to be a part of the YouTube Partner program to get in you need a th000 subscribers in either 4,000 hours of watch time on your long form videos in the last year or 10 million views on your
YouTube shorts yes it is kind of crazy but once you're in you can start earning now let's break down two crucial terms CPM and RPM CPM is what advertisers pay YouTube for every 1,000 views their ad gets RPM is what YouTube pays you for every 1,000 views your video gets remember this because it is important in long form videos ads play directly on your content the revenue is split split with YouTube Keeping 45% and you getting 55% it's pretty straightforward but YouTube shorts are a little bit m
ore complicated that's because on YouTube shorts ads play between multiple different videos from various different creators so instead of you making all the money the revenue gets split between you YouTube and all of the other creators who posted YouTube shorts and then the music industry picture all the ad revenue from shorts as a big pot every ad view adds a little bit more money if a creative short uses a song that's copyrighted part of its Revenue have to be exact is deducted to pay for musi
c rights if a short features two copyrighted songs then 2third of that Short's Revenue gets taken away after setting aside money for music rights the remaining money is divided among all creators based on the popularity of their shorts say Your Shorts get around 1% of all the views on YouTube shorts then you earn a about 1% of everything left in the pot but before you run off YouTube takes its cut for shorts YouTube takes 55% then leaving you with 45% of whatever you received so after all of tha
t happens how much do you as a Creator make it's it's not much the average RPM for a long form video is around $3 meaning 100,000 views could earn you around 300 bucks on average of course some creat make a lot more some make a lot less but for shorts the average RPM is around 5 cents so the same amount of views might just bring you in $5 compared to long form videos shorts are like the change you find down the side of the couch cushion now before I tell you how much YouTube paid us for a millio
n views do me a quick favor and smash the Subscribe button this is the year that we hit a million subscribers and we cannot do it without your help and and the bigger the channel gets the bigger the videos get now for the big reveal how much did YouTube pay us for 1 million shorts views drum roll please $99.86 from 3.1 million views which is about $32 per 1 million [Applause] [Music] views yeah it's not a lot of money but it's not just us YouTube giant Zach King made $91 from 10 million shorts v
iews that's I'm sorry Zach put # sorry Zack in the comments if you made it this far that's that's rough although short form content does not earn as much as long form videos they're still valuable for example the queen of YouTube shorts Jenny Hoy gained over 1.5 million subscribers with only 90 shorts and while she only gained $1,200 from 22 million views the interesting part is that $1,200 was not even 10% of what she makes as a short form Creator you can make a lot more money Beyond ads Jenny'
s real success comes from leveraging her shorts and followers for selling merchandise online courses and brand collaborations so remember monetization isn't limited to just add Revenue with a strong following you can earn through your own products in Partnerships so no YouTube shorts do not pay a lot of money but you get way more subscribers from shorts than you could ever imagine getting on a long for video so yeah you know you get what you get you don't throw fit and once you have all those su
bscribers you can monetize in so many other ways to make a lot more money than ads could ever pay you so let me know if you think shorts are a great opportunity in the comments below let me know if you're posting short so I can check your channel out and when you're done I suggest you watch this video right here because YouTube has a secret team that nobody knew about and they just got exposed check that out

🚀 Quick Poll: If you had to choose, which would you rather have? A) 10,000,000 YouTube Subscribers B) $1,000,000 Dollars

@ChristianRoep

Shorts have really helped me gain subscribers and visibility for my channel. I love the ease of creating them!

@Creyzi_Ducks

I started my youtube channel yesterday wish me success and luck❤️

@RizwanKhanDiary

Shorts is a format that should be used for discoverability ONLY. In terms of revenue, it generates very very less. I was paid $0.08 for 1000 views

@WorldBeAmazed

The RPM for my Shorts has been improving consistently every month, and I anticipate further growth over time. Last year, my RPM was $0.01 and began to rise steadily each month. Currently, my channel maintains an average RPM of $0.09, with many of my shorts reaching an RPM of $0.10-0.15.

@sonofcyrus3317

To go successful on youtube, you shouldn’t think money. You should think love and the nature of love is giving . Once you do, money will run after you at whatever you do.

@Qillfy

As a primary shorts creator currently, its useful towards growing my following

@JMB676

I recently started putting up shorts about my current builds cause I’m way behind where I actually am in video editing. Since I started doing it doubled my subs each 28 days atm and almost doubled my moneys too. I’m so glad I started stay more current with my shorts. It is drastically helping my long form out.

@Maizy29

for me i got me a monetized youtube channel with over 20k from viral npc marketplace (it is now 30K) and im now earning like an old youtuber haha. Hope that everyone becomes successful!

@Chi_Tech

I love making shorts! It’s an easy way to get a content idea out there, without putting hours upon hours of editing and production into it. :)

@Tammi333

I wish there was a way to monitor how many people watched the shorts video but then that led them to your channel to watch your other videos and how many videos they did end up watching. This would really tell you how valuable your shorts videos really are when it comes to discoverability of your channel and the impact it has on your other videos.

@Vernil9790

I also started YT this 2024. Keep grinding guys, We'll get there soon. Thanks for the info,

@EdCollects

I started 2023 with 4,000 subscribers. As of today, I should hit 100,000 subs in March. Mainly from shorts videos. I like making them.

@GuilloryFamilyFanfiction

What sucks is ,even though I pay for Epidemic sound, they still copyright shorts and get some of the money.

@shaynaholmes

I’ve been posting consistently for this month of Jan .. every single day (sometimes twice a day) since around Jan 11 and I’ve gained 133 subscribers for shorts. I’m enjoying just doing the shorts rn bc I’m able to be consistent in that. Plus it’s helping me to grow my page. I know how to edit long videos but I wasn’t consistent in that. I think shorts are great for getting your page out there and for me I’d be grateful for making anything from YouTube especially from shorts bc I know they don’t pay THAT much but it’ll make me happy when I’m finally monetized and getting something bc I know I’ll be making money from finally being consistent in my channel

@BadLuckDez

Just started posting shorts a couple days ago. I wanted to start the new year with something to work towards creatively. This video was helpful, thanks.

@AwesumTV

Great video for explaining how shorts monetization works. However I believe people should be satisfied with current shorts earnings because the amount of effort is way low compared to a long video. And it is the advertisers who pay not the youtube platform, so if advertisers can't put direct ads on shorts one cannot make much from ad revenue. It's best use is to be discoverable in front of millions and also gain subscribers to build a solid brand which one can leverage later on.

@imSCRLT

I might be wrong, but iirc the requirements to get the YT partnership are way easier now (iirc it is 500 subs, 3 videos posted, AND either 3K hours of long-form in a year or 3m Shorts views in the last 90 days). But it's still a great video full of valuable information, so I'm grateful for that! Keep it up!

@entertainmentlegends2023

I wait for that day to finally come, when my channel gets monetized 😢

@CryptoGrit

Still sometimes I feel that getting to 4k hours is impossible xD
