Psalm 119:99
Who is the smartest person you know? There is someone even smarter—God. When you spend time thinking about His words and thoughts, you get a glimpse of how great He truly is. Today’s video teaches how we can become smarter and wiser when we spend time meditating on God’s Word.

WHO'S THE SMARTEST PERSON
YOU'VE EVER KNOWN? MAYBE A TEACHER? A MENTOR?
YOUR PARENT? A FRIEND? YOU? I'VE KNOWN SOME SMART PEOPLE.
YOU KNOW, THE KIND WHO POP OUT CORRECT ANSWERS TO THE
MOST OBSCURE TRIVIA QUESTIONS, OR WHO COMPUTE MATH
EQUATIONS IN THEIR BRAINS WITHOUT A CALCULATOR, OR WHO PROBLEM-SOLVE
COMPLEX WORLD PROBLEMS AND THEN INSPIRE OTHERS
TO IMPLEMENT THE SOLUTIONS. BUT HOW FAR DOES "SMART" REALLY
TAKE US IN THE MESS OF LIFE: IN THE DAILY CHALLENGES
TO HANG ON TO OUR SOULS, TO FIGHT BA
CK
AGAINST TEMPTATION, TO CHOOSE KINDNESS
RATHER THAN REVENGE? PSALM 119 IS THE LONGEST
PSALM IN THE BIBLE, AND IT BRINGS ATTENTION TO THE LIFE-GIVING TRUTH
OF GOD'S WISDOM. IN VERSE 99,
THE PSALMIST WRITES, "I HAVE MORE INSIGHT
THAN ALL MY TEACHERS, "FOR I MEDITATE
ON YOUR STATUTES." AT FIRST HEARING, THE WORDS
MIGHT SOUND ARROGANT: "I HAVE MORE INSIGHT
THAN ALL MY TEACHERS..." BUT LISTEN CLOSELY. THE PSALMIST HOLDS UP
THE VALUE OF DWELLING ON AND FOCUSSING IN ON GOD'S TRUTH. HE'S SUGGESTING TH
AT
GOD'S THOUGHTS ARE HIGHER, AND BETTER, AND MORE COMPLETE
THAN ANY HUMAN UNDERSTANDING. MEDITATING ON GOD'S WAYS
LEADS US TO A GREATER RESULT THAN MIMICKING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SMARTEST
TEACHERS WE KNOW. MEDITATING ON GOD'S WAYS MOVES
US INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ONE
WHO CAN PROVIDE SMARTS, AND THE WISDOM OF
HOW TO APPLY SMARTS, IN ALL OUR STEPS AND CHOICES.
