Welcome to the Coupler.io Academy, where industry  experts share tips and tricks on working with data. In this video, we will show you how to  connect Google Calendar to Google Sheets. Hi, my name’s Annie. There are many interesting insights  you could extract from your Google Calendar data. However, it’s not easy to do so directly from the  calendar interface. Therefore, a far easier option is to integrate Google Sheets with Google Calendar  and analyze your data directly in a spreadsheet. Whil
e you can export your data manually, it’s far  more efficient to sync Google Calendar events to Google Sheets on an automated basis. The no-code  solution I want to show you lets you export raw calendar data like this. Or, if you prefer,  automatically populate report templates like this one. Whatever your goals, Coupler.io can  help you accomplish them. It’s a platform that turns complex data into simple reports and boasts  hundreds of integrations with many of the apps you use every day. To ex
port Google Calendar  to Sheets, sign up for a free 14-day trial, no credit card required. Then, add a new importer.  As a source app, pick Google Calendar. And as a destination for your data, go with Google Sheets.  I’ll start by naming an importer. I plan to fetch the last 60 days worth of data on my events so  I’ll choose the name accordingly. Next, connect your Google account and authorize Coupler.io to  access your calendar. Choose the data entity for your export. You can fetch the list of
calendars  or events, as well as a report on the user's busy time. I want to sync Google Calendar events to  Google Sheets so I’ll choose the second option. Now, choose the calendar to import the data  from. If you’re interested in fetching data from multiple calendars at once, you’ll be able to add  them later. Update the report start and end date if you’d like. You can pick specific dates but for  recurring imports, macros are often a much better option. Click the link in the description below
to see other available macros. The source app is now set up. You can proceed or add more sources  if you’d like. It could be more calendars from this or other users. Or, consider combining Google  Calendar data with the relevant exports from time tracking apps, like Harvest or Clockify. I’ll jump  to the transform module where you can preview your data and apply various transformations. You can  add or remove columns if you’d like. Apply filters to, for example, remove all “focus time” and  “o
ut of office” records. Choose the column name, specify the conditions, and apply the filter. You  can also sort data by any column or create custom formulas. I’ll go ahead to the destination setup  for this Google Calendar - Sheets integration. Click the ‘Connect’ button and sign in with your  Google account once again. Grant the additional permissions and click ‘Continue’. Decide also  on the spreadsheet for your import. You can pick one of the existing sheets or create a new  one by simply typ
ing in a name. Before you launch an importer, it’s worth setting up a schedule for  data refreshes. For example, I’ll choose to fetch data daily at 9 am, 7 days a week. Finally, I’ll  launch the import from Google Calendar. Give it a moment to load and you’ll shortly see the list of  events imported into your spreadsheet. It’s as simple as that! If you’re planning to build a report  with this data, Looker Studio often proves to be a worthy companion. One great thing about it is  an abundance of
dashboard templates that save you tons of time and are quick and easy to set up.  Here’s one for Google Calendar that we’ve built for you. It gives you an overview of what happened  in your calendar over the last year or any other period of time that you can freely choose. See the  summary of how you spent your time. Analyze how the time spent in meetings changed month-to-month.  Learn who controlled your schedule, what the top meetings were, and more. Follow the readme to set  up within just a
few minutes and have your data refreshed as often as you need it. And that's  it! Now you know how to export Google Calendar to Google Sheets but if you have any questions,  feel free to ask them in the comments.
