video series, we will see how to create
a page in our dashboard. And the page that
we will create, how we can show
that on website. For example, we created 2
pages: Home and About. We can create any number of pages
like Course, Gallery, Contact, etc. How to display those
pages on website, how you will set
their menus, we are going to see that
process in WordPress today. So, our today's topic is to
crea
te pages in WordPress. So, let's start creating
pages in WordPress, See, there will be 2 things. You will create
pages in dashboard. You can add the page that
you have created in the menu. WordPress gives you the option
of making purely dynamic website. The meaning of purely
dynamic website is that the pages that you
make are all dynamic. Dynamic means that you
can also change the pages, delete the pages, update the names
of pages and you can do everything. So, first see where you
have
to go to create pages. In the left side,
menus are there like Posts, Media, etc.
You have to go to Pages. It creates a sample
page for you by default. You will delete that and start
making your own page here. So, I will show you
all the pages here. It's giving a sample page and
a privacy policy page to you. If you need it then you will
keep it or else you can delete it. For deleting, you
have to check them and click on "Move
to Trash" from here. And then click
on "Apply". See, now it's
empty and
there is no page in this. Now, we will create
a page from here. You can also create a page
by clicking on "Add new" here and you can do
from here also. When you go to all pages, you
will get an option "Add New" here. And here also, "Add New"
option is coming. When you click on any option, you will
get the same screen by both the ways. I will go here and
click on "Add New". I have clicked
on "Add New". As soon as you
click on "Add New", it will show you the
option to add tit
le. Here, you have give the name of
the page that you want to create. I will tell you clearly that your website is:
localhost/wscubetech or whatever name you have
given to your project. Here, all the
pages are removed. Earlier, sample
page was coming. That is also
not there. Here those pages will come which
were coming as sample page before. I will tell you the way how
you have to attach them. I am creating first page
with name "Home". You can write in
small or capital letters. After cr
eating the "Home" page,
you can also add content here. I am telling you how
you can add content. Here, an option is
coming to add the content. But, first I will show
you how to make a page. And from here, you
have to publish it. After publishing, your
one page is ready. After going to "Add New",
create one more page here. And here I am giving the name
of the 2nd page as "About Us". And from here,
publish it. Then, create
one more page. I have created one more
page with the name "Cours
e". And I have
published it here. So, 3 pages are created: Home, About Us
and Course. Right now, you have created
just the names of the pages. I will tell you how to bring
the content and images. You can bring content
and images here. Your data will be displayed
according to your theme. I have created
3 pages now. Now, we will add
them to menu. Adding to the menu means that
we have to create a menu here which is visible to
you on website like: Home, About,
Course, Gallery, etc. For ex
ample, I open the
site of WsCube Tech. I have opened website. Home,
About and all these are your menus. So, I want to create some
menus in my WordPress website. To create menu, you have
to go to "Appearance" here. And then you have
to select "Menus". As soon as you
click on "Menus", it's asking you the
name of the menu. So, you can give any
name according to you. Menu name is asking what
menu you want to make. So, I am writing
here "Top Menu". I have given the name "Top
Menu" accordin
g to me. You can give any name. There is no problem. You can give
whatever you want: Header Menu", "Top
Menu", "Primary Menu", you can keep
whatever you want., And from here, you
have to create it. After creating, here you
must be seeing the pages: "Home", "About Us"
and "Course". You have to do
a simple task. 1st you check on "Home"
and click on "Add to menu". Then check "About Us"
and click on "Add to menu". Then check "Course" and
click on "Add to menu". See, here all the three page
s
have come in front of you: "Home", "About Us"
and "Course". You can drag and drop them
and change their sequence. It's sequence is not fixed. You can drag and
drop and change it. You can also click on
"Remove" and delete it. You can also change
its name here. We have created 3 pages:
Home, About Us and Course. I will correct the
sequence here. I will make it : 1. Home,
2. About Us and 3. Course. Now, here an option is
coming: Auto add pages. If you check this checkbox, you don't need
to come to the menu
again and again to add the pages. Otherwise, every time you make
a page, the process will be that you have to go to
"Appearance" then to "Menu". After coming here, you have to click
on "Add to Menu" and then save it. This will be the
complete process. Now, we have
created 3 pages. In these 3 pages, it's
asking display location. It's asking whether you want
"Main menu" or "top bar menu". If you check it for both the places,
it will come at both the places. If that me
nu is called
twice in the theme, then it will be
displayed twice. And from here,
I will save it. See, I have
saved it. After saving it, you will go to
your website and refresh it. As soon as you refresh, it is
coming in the top menu also and it's coming at
the bottom also. Here, it's showing "Home",
"Course" and "About Us". 3 menus are coming. I will correct the
sequence once. And I will
save it once. And here, I
will refresh it. After refreshing, here also,
the sequence is changed.
If you want to remove the menu from
top then it was giving 2 options: Main menu and Top menu. So, remove Top menu
from here and save it. After saving, when
you refresh it here, you will see that only this will
be remaining in your main menu. Date is coming
on the upper side. That date is in-built
in this theme. So, we have created 3 pages:
Home, About Us and Course. When you click on these pages,
your pages will also open. But they are empty
and there is no content. If we click on "Abou
t Us"
then it is also empty. If we click on "Course"
then it is also empty. We have to add
content in them. It means that I want to
add some text in Home. I want to add some
content in About Us. I want to add some
content in Course. From where
will you put that? When you had
created the page, an option for putting
content was coming there. Here, you are seeing
an option "All Pages". Here, we are
editing "Home". After clicking on "Edit" for Home,
we can put any content here. See, I wi
ll take the
content from here. Just for an example, I have taken the
content from here and pasted it here. The content comes in the same
format as you have copied it. Like, here it came
in the H1 tag or if there are some
tags that are used, they will come
in the same tag. Now, the content
has come. Now, you want to
use an image also. For using image, you will
go to "Documents" here. In that, there is an
option "Feature Image". When you will click
on "Feature Image", then an option "Se
t Feature
Image" will come. Click on that. After that, you will see that
there is no image in your media. Media means the images or the files
that we will upload, it will come here. We have to select the
images from our system. So, I will click on "Select File"
here and I will go here. Then I am
going to Desktop. And then I am
selecting this image. As soon as you will
select this image, here an option will
come for checking. Check it and click
on "Select". As soon as you click on "Sele
ct",
your image will come here. You can upload any
number of images. There is no problem in
uploading images here. See, here is your Title. Here is your content. You can also add any
amount of content here. There is
no problem. And there is image
in "Documents". From here,
you update it. After updating, you
will go to Home page. And you will
refresh it. Then your data will
be displayed here. We had added
this image and this is
our content. So, you can create a simple
website of 5 p
ages here. You create 5 pages. You can also create
more than 5 pages. They can be "Home", "About Us",
"Course", "Gallery" and "Content". You can create as many
pages as you want. You can add
content in them. In content, you can add
description, images and title. So, we saw how to create pages,
how to set them in menu and after setting menus, how
to add content in the pages. In coming videos,
I will tell you how will you deploy
your website live The website that we are
creating on the l
ocal system, how we will take that
on domain or hosting. I will also tell you
about domain or hosting because now, we are
