Hi, it's Elizabeth. Today I'm going to show you  three ways to get Microsoft 365, formerly known as Microsoft Office, entirely for free with no  subscription required. It includes popular apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Best of all,  it's completely free and it's entirely legal. The only thing required is an internet connection.  Let's take a look. You'll want to get started by going to Microsoft365.com and on here you'll  see a few options. The first is the sign-in button. If you have an
existing Microsoft account,  this could include Office products, Xbox, Skype, etc., you can go ahead and sign in here and you'll  be prompted for your password. If you don't have an existing Microsoft account, I'll go ahead  and show you how to sign up for one for free. You'll see next here to the sign-in button is Get  Microsoft 365. This is the options for if you want to pay for a yearly or monthly subscription,  but today we're only focusing on the free. If you have not yet created a Microso
ft account,  go ahead and click sign up for the free version of Microsoft 365. Here you'll be prompted to create  your account. Go ahead and enter the email address that you want to be associated with your Microsoft  365 free account. Once you are logged in, you will see many familiar favorites, including  Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a bunch of other Microsoft products. You can access your documents  online from anywhere you have internet access, even when using a shared computer. Let's  ta
ke a look at an example using Word. Since you do need an internet connection to use  Microsoft 365 for free, you may find that you will be saving documents to your computer, uploading  them when you have an internet connection, working on them, and then downloading them again  to your computer. I am going to upload a document from my computer and show you how we can edit it  in Word online and then save again to my computer. Once you have found your document, go ahead  and click and open it. You
r document should then begin to upload automatically. You may  notice that sometimes the formatting does not transfer 100%, so you may have to do some brief  adjustments when first uploading a document. But once you save it, it should transfer back and  forth seamlessly. I've begun doing some market research on Kevin's Cookie Company. You can go  ahead and make edits to your document online now. It has similar editing functionalities as you  might be used to in the offline version of Word. Let's
say I want to go ahead and insert a  table. Any edits that I make to my document are automatically saved online. You can then go  back and edit this document from any computer as long as you have internet access and log in to  your Microsoft 365 account. You can also go up to the File button and download a copy to be saved  onto your computer. Once you have the document saved to your computer, it functions just as any  Word document should, meaning you can email it to somebody else, post it els
ewhere online. The  only thing you won't be able to do is edit it unless you have an internet connection and go on  to your Microsoft 365 account. Once the document has been saved to your online account, you can  access it at any time. Here on the home screen, you see that there's a quick access section  which has recently opened documents. You can come back and work on this at any time. Similar  functionalities exist for Excel, PowerPoint, and any of the other Microsoft software programs.  Anot
her clever way to get Microsoft 365 for free, go ahead and on your keyboard select control, alt,  shift, and the windows key button. You'll see that it looks almost identical to when we accessed it  from Microsoft365.com. We can also see that under quick access is the market research plan that I  worked on previously. Let's go ahead and take a look at creating a new document. Over here on the  left-hand side, I'm going to click on PowerPoint. Here you can go ahead and start with a blank  present
ation or take a look at some of the templates. You'll see that some of the templates  do have a diamond on the top right-hand side, which indicates that they are only available  if you purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription. If you want to go ahead and create a blank  presentation for PowerPoint, go ahead and double click. It will open for you automatically  and again you will be able to use most of the same functionalities in the free version as  you would in the paid subscription version. Once
you've made your edits, you'll go ahead  and save this just as we did previously. You'll save a copy online and you can also  download a copy directly to your computer. A third option to getting Microsoft 365 for free is  specific to educators and students. Students and educators at eligible institutions can sign up for  Office 365 Education for free which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Microsoft  Teams plus additional classroom tools. You can see if you are eligible by typin
g in your school  email address. The link to this page is below in our video's description. That's three ways to get  Microsoft 365 for free with no subscription. If this was helpful, please consider supporting our  channel by subscribing below. See you next time.

@netanelmad

Kind of a misleading title. This is not the fully featured Microsoft 365, but the "lite" web version.

@tiredofeverythingnew

For an optimal experience and to reduce the likelihood of dozing off, adjust the playback speed to 1.25x.

@SAMSONIMOLE

Wow, I like how you communicate, easy and understandable.just to encourage 😇❤️

@salvadorfonseca165

What people don't understand is while free. You don't get the desktop app for free and the online apps are as up to date as the desktop apps, so some of the features might not be available or refined like the desktop apps.

@tumelomatlanato7157

Thank you so much 😊😊 I have been looking for this for so long.

@JohnODonovan1

Wait a minute, what's this , where's Kevin, not even a mention.

@MattG-gt8be

Very helpful! Elizabeth is a great addition to the channel!

@FazerAddict

Let's fix the title. HOW TO USE THE FREE VERSION OF OFFICE 365

@garynagle3093

Nice job Elizabeth. Very informative.

@wolphin732

This is a bit deceptive... you are showing how to access the web-based apps NOT to get the locally installed applications which are part of the Microsoft 365 subscription, which to me was what I thought the title was going to tell me how to do. Better title would be "How to use the Microsoft 365 Web-Apps for Free. And how they have most of the features of basic functions of the paid desktop apps. Their functionality is also much slower than the desktop app. What am I 'getting' or receiving by what you show... nothing. You are showing how to access a website. It should also state that it uses the OneDrive for storing the documents, and that is the only place the web-apps can access directly.

@khorajia

The drawback that I experienced recently was when I had to edit a Statistics Question paper on the web (Online Word). I wasn't able to edit because everything that I had previously typed in desktop word was seen as a messed up document on Word Online version. So this may be useful for simple text only documents. But if you use any extra feature, like math formula in my case, then office online is a poor substitute.

@ranawaqashaider

MS Office is a Great Suite. But I missed the amazing and essential features to be available for at least in Enterprise Editions. 1) Built-in Functionality for Content Control mapping and Management 2) A translate function to auto translate a text set to a variable in the document. 3) For Form Generations, If a Person is changed from Male to Female, All related Pronouns should be linked and auto convert. 4) A Proper And Efficient Way to Manage and Edit Different Sections and their properties. Suggestion is to at least in Navigation task pane.

@cookmaster3626

With your document / spread sheet being on line is there a risk of some one in Microsoft being able to access the file and misuse it

@jameelabduljalil25

This is how to "use" not get Microsoft 365 for free.

@divitkarekar5803

Thank you this really helped me

@broderp

What's the catch and what features are missing?

@tracyjones3070

I think I was accessing the web version of Excel through my Microsoft account, but it required me to upload my document to OneDrive. Is that what's going on here when you say it's uploaded to the web? How secure are these files? I don't want them on OneDrive. Also it created several versions of my document by adding 1, 2, 3 at the end of the file name so how do I know which is the most recent version to download to my computer again? Thanks for being here for us computer dummies! My hard drive crashed and I'm so bummed that my Office programs died with it.

@davinp

Note that there is no web-based version of Access or Publisher. You will need to use the desktop app

@HappyHomeLibrary

Very helpful❤❤❤ Thank you so much. May God bless, everyone🙏

@Buzor-im6ih

So With Microsoft 365 basic there are desktop versions but I’d like to know if there’s an exception to Teams as it’s not stated clearly...the desktop app is very important... thanks for your replies
