hello from Google for nonprofits this quick tutorial will show you how to modify your google meet settings for video calls if you're in a low bandwidth environment maybe your home internet is running a little bit slower than normal or you find yourself working from a part of your house or apartment that's really far from your wireless router either way will help you be successful so first to join your call go to meet google.com in either use the button to join or start a meeting or select from y
our available meetings which are linked to Google Calendar so we'll click through to our google meet bandwidth demo meeting when you click through you'll join the waiting room for your video call and from here you need to click join now to actually join that video call once you're in your call if you're finding that video or audio is choppy or disconnected one option that you have to try and solve it is to click the three dots at the bottom right which will pull up a menu where you can select se
ttings on this menu you can test a couple of things first if these little dots are moving when you talk your audio is working just fine so if other people on your call are saying hey we can't hear you the issue might be on their side you can also test to make sure audio is coming through your speakers and into your headset just fine as well so if for some reason the people on the other side of the call can't talk to you and your audio works here it might be an issue on their end with their speak
er if you click through to the video tab you can modify the resolution with which video is sent and received if you're in a low data environment you may want to reduce the resolution from your high to standard definition for video being sent and you may also want to reduce the resolution of video you're receiving from high to standard definition and in a pinch you can also select audio only which means that you will hear all the participants in the call but you won't see their video once you're
done changing these settings click back and test it out see if your participants can see and hear you and vice versa if you're really stuck another option to make sure that your other participants in the call can at least hear your voice is to go ahead and turn your video off and sometimes in a low bandwidth and this can help make sure that you're still able to communicate thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us we hope you're very successful with all of your Google meet calls with
your fellow colleagues your volunteers your board members and maybe even your friends and family

I find this still doesn't quite work. With Zoom I have no issues but Google Meets which I use for work I am often a few seconds behind everyone and it often freezes.

@jesuspadilla6403

Bonus tip: reduce the number of screens you see, "change layout" turn down to 6. This seems to help a bit on larger meets.

@satyam8251

Oh thank u so much now i can attend my classes without any issues

@skitty_yt9883

Sometimes when i open google meet it just keeps loading forever, even with good wifi is still load such a long time and i can't join, please help.

@spicethea3258

WHY IS THE INTERFACE SO SLOW AT RESPONDING??? videos and microphones and sound are going through just fine, until, meet eventually crashes as always. This issue is litterally insane, haven't experienced anywhere else, and no. Amounts of video does not change anything.

@wrsdes

thanks for the hint

@malojoking

Does the setting of reducing camera quality need to be done every call? Or is the setting saved for the next call?
