thing all right we're going to go hang out with Joshua Henson now he's uh with whistle Express Car Wash which has locations here in Charlotte and he brought a nice little car here so we could talk about pollen and our vehicles how you doing Jos I'm doing well yourself I'm good thank you thanks for coming to see us you know this is the time of year Rachel was just talking about it we're in the thick of it with the pollen you guys must see a big uptick in in people coming in is actually one of our
busiest times um this is from the end of April or I'm sorry end of March on into April is our busiest season and on into a little bit of May so this is a great time to be a car washer yeah this is a good time for your business that's for sure it's a terrible time for the rest of us you're going to walk us through four things we need to think about when it comes to our cars and pollen season the first one seems obvious but we just don't do it or for example we go to work we can't do it park insi
de as much as you can uh yes uh if you're parking inside you're obviously going to prevent any type of pollen buildup on the outside of your vehicle which pollen can be very very detrimental to your clear coat because of how acidic it is yeah so you say to that point wax your car and that's going to maybe help protect that clear coat wax or apply a coat of ceramic so wax is your your old style of thinking still good but old style whereas ceramic is actually your new better protection that actual
ly bonds to your clear coat creates a layer of protection and doesn't allow for the pollen to dig into your clear coat so it's very very good for the outside of your vehicle okay I did not know anything about ceramic um is it something we can do ourselves do we have to go to a professional to get that done you can try to do it yourself but I would personally wouldn't recommend it I would recommend going to one of our mini locations and getting a ceramic application on the outside of the vehicle
is that expensive to do uh it's not too bad I mean I would recommend the memberships they start at $40 but uh one time sip is $27 oh okay that's not bad at all all right this is your third piece of advice don't wait to wash it and I always do that I'm like well it's just going to get more pollen on the car why am I going to wash it now it's just going to build up again you say don't use that that line of thinking no it's it goes back to my original point is pollen is acidic so if you don't have
any protection on it's going to bond to your your clear coat and it's going to start to wear away from that and it's going to make your car look really bad where if you put the coat of ceramic on there it's going to wash off it's not going to bond and you're going to have a nice looking car and they recommend typically one time a week and once again going back to the memberships you get that listen to that those little product mentions um if someone doesn't do the ceramic though is it enough to
just rinse off your car do you have to wash the pollen off or can you rinse it you can try to rinse it but no that's not a good route because what you're putting on your car is you know hard water it's going to spot your vehicle whereas you go into a professional setting we actually put the right soaps and chemistry on your car to actually wash the polling off and then with our light friction remove it and then put our ceramic application got it and then the last thing you say is you know we thi
nk about the exterior of the car but this pollen does just like in your house it gets into the ventilation system what's your recommendation there for making sure that stays clean a little plug for the uh the O Loop buddies here is uh you want to change your cabin filter it helps out helps your breathing out but definitely recommended when you get an oil change and sometimes folks don't listen to it but definitely listen to it you know I struggle with that one cuz you're like it's 70 some dollar
s to get your cabin filter replaced and people don't want to do it but if they are going to do it this is the time of year to make sure is the best time yes ma'am all right go and get one more plug where you located here in Charlotte 9121 South Tron Street come by and see us and uh give a little call out to Daryl teller our site manager there looks forward to seeing you guys see there you go Jorge we got all the plugs in but we also more importantly got all of the information for you so now you
know what to do with your vehicle during stinky pollen seas in yeah look it's key I have a black car which looks green right now so I've been taking notes and it's been fantastic
