dn't go inside the scene I was there more as a a comfort and a a moral support for the officers uh and talking to the officers that initially went into the scene uh to talk to them to ensure they're you know um mentally physically fit to continue their job which they are um but really just to talk talk to them and get a feeling for what they saw and a and a way for them to to talk to me and and a way to um for them to to take some of that weight off their shoulders that they witnessed as they we
nt into that scene neighbors tell us the family had lived on the top floor of this home for about a decade adding they would often see the family's children outside playing along this quiet street and when you found out which family it was what was your reaction no way they're like like a typical really festive family you know they dress up house for holidays and it's all normal one Manoa resident who often walks by the home but did not want to go on camera told us she noticed a change within th
e last year yeah I noticed in the past year or so that there haven't been Christmas decorations Halloween decorations like normal um which seemed kind of odd as they always did festive a chaplain along with volunteers from hpd's peer Unit were on scene to provide support to responding officers and we have been told by HPD that counseling services will be available to those officers who arrived on scene reporting live in Honolulu Eddie Dow Hawaii news now law enforcement experts say cases like th
is are very rare adding the greatest risk factor are prior instances of domestic violence look at past history for U domestic violence whether trro was issued um whether it was any type of Separation order that was being violated um a lot to uncover if we know it's not a weapon like a a gun then um normally would go into backround on the weapon in this case uh they won't have to do that but uh interview all the neighbors uh family members look at all the um social media look at the uh computers
with the home to see if there's any evidence of uh type of uh reaching out for help or some type of uh things of that nature the CEO of the domestic violence Action Center says it's important people recognize the warning signs of abuse all too often we minimize the domestic violence or we minimize the abuse that may be happening in a family so as neighbors we might hear shouting or arguing and sometimes we we give you know we just don't do anything about it because it's a private matter but um o
f often times we can reach out on some level to the children or the family members to uh perhaps get them information that they might need if they are a loved one is going through are going through uh abuse or domestic violence um the the thing I would say is it don't minimize take it seriously if you're not sure just if you or someone you know is experiencing abuse help is available you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1 1800799 safe or text the word start to 88 788

The husband just couldn't kill himself, he had to take the entire family, a real damn coward..

@LeafsAndCars

Why do SO MANY PEOPLE think this is their ONLY solution to their problems?? How sad!

@eddiearmijo6635

Men with Weak Minds.

@anonymous-zn2iv

I really feel for the children, they must have been terrified.

@dreamcatcher5502

A knife. That's so brutal. Especially for those kids. Poor babies. Rest in Aloha 😪💔

@user-df8ji4sj8s

How mad you gotta be to stab yourself to death?

@Errr717

Must have been a very brutal and horrific scene for the first responders. My cousin is an HPD chaplain. I won’t even ask him if he was called on scene.

@sinch4044

Women when they go crazy: key his car Men when they go crazy: family annihilation quadruple homicide and suicide

@derekangel7845

I'd also like to say a prayer for the officers that arrived on site and had to witness probably the worst thing that they'll ever see in their entire life. They will NEVER be compensated enough to psychologically recover from that experience. It's truly sad to imagine even having the responsibility of responding to something like this. These officers deserve a world of recognition. They're true heroes.

@petersellas7025

What a sad sad tragedy.....Poor innocent children and wife.... Heart breaking

@Golgibaby

Domestic violence people. Honestly. The suffering resounds to all parts of society, but it especially hurts and shocks when it pervades the fundamental sanctity of safety: the family unit. Terribly tragic heartbreaking. Appreciative of the expressed sensitivity and support for our frontline officers. Much love to the family.

@lgracie33

This is happening way too often…..how heartbreaking 💔

@rkm5369

This country has become so divided, people feel like they have noone to reach out to when they need help.

@richiestarks6163

You never really know who you’re dealing with. Everyone wears 3 faces.

@Levi-em6ym

Crime in Hawaii has never been this bad. Since the start of the pandemic it has gotten out of control.

@anonymous-zn2iv

My god how horrible. This is probably the worst murder/suicide in hawaii history.

@dremrem3223

this is so sad.....

@arcim2018

THIS IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN THAN EVER.

@PerfectoKiss

So sad! Absolutely no need to get violent. Enjoy your flight little ones. RIP!
