i did everything i could to make this violin sound real

A short waltz made in FL Studio 21 using just a piano and a violin. I didn't realize just how much work it took to get used to using force keys oh my god ;-; ;-; ;-; I feel it paid off, though, since I'm really happy with how realistic this violin sounds !!!

hello hello ! :) its been a small bit since ive used a violin in a song :0 so i thought id use that "crying" violin from that other song again !!! the truth is, this instrument is actually kind of annoying to use though haha like dont get me wrong, i love it, and really like how it sounds :0 but the instrument just gives you SO many options to work with in terms of articulations (╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥) if you dont know, articulations are kind of like different ways of playing the same note o
n an instrument !!!! like on a piano, i could play quiet, loud, connected or disjoint, and a whole bunch of other things :0 im really only used to the articulations of piano, and so in this song, I wanted to try and learn some of the ones for violin :) because of that, it was my goal to use a bunch of articulations on BOTH the piano and violin this time around !!! which is why so far, kind of like this, ive been jumping a ton between soft sustained notes and forceful, short notes >:) either way,
i hope they make the song sound more dynamic and fun, since i feel a lot of my other songs are pretty one dimensional haha oh yeah :0 i also experimented with harmony, and worked out a really cool chord thing right here that I'm super happy with >:) but anyway back to violins and articulations and all that :0 coming up next is a passage where i just tried to cram a TON of different articulations into haha like over here, behind the scenes, i had to control the precise bowing of the staccato sho
rt notes :0 even on those like 5 long legato notes just before, it took me an additional 20 minutes to tune and stuff (╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥) i guess it kind of sounds like I'm complaining here, but that's not what i mean to do haha it takes a lot more work to set up, but it gives me a lot more control over the sound, and lets it sound much more realistic !!! not only that, but its seriously opened my eyes to just how many ways you can play a violin :0 for example with piano, you only have a
handful of them really, but here for violin, and even just in this song alone already, i used at least 12 different articulations, from bow duration, to bow speed, to tremolo, glissando, and so much more (╥﹏╥) honestly i learned a ton of cool techniques that I'm excited to use in future songs from this one though, so I'm glad haha anyway !!! i hope you enjoy hearing this one as much as i did making it !!! thanks for listening :)

@koffeeneko1585

haters will say the violin doesnt sound real

@callaharry6673

Honestly violins and other string instruments are like the uncanny valley of musical instruments. It sounds realistic but you always feel as though theres something missing. Anyway you did a great job with this piece and the violins.

@Kill2Kiss

As a violin I can confirm this is what a real violin sounds like

@safefw6967

Damn... Dude, not gonna lie, you failed... This violin sound UNREAL💫💫

@Supadude09

As a person with ears, I can confirm this violin sounds real👍

@LoneStarPianist

As a (amateur) violinist, this sounds more realistic than my actual playing lol

@artykeldeo

as a former viola player, the fact you did your best to articulate vibrato and the bow moving across the strings, i can almost hear the horsehair moving to another string, i can feel the feather light accents, the sliding up and down on certain strings, i can almost close my eyes and imagine myself playing this melody. absolutely wonderful.

@prodJamie

I’m a violinist and the only parts that sounded a little off were the times where two violins were playing the same notes. Besides those, most of the other notes sounds insanely real. Idk how you did the articulations, but this is the most realistic violin midi I’ve ever heard

@Mmannk

I like how it has a mix between very real sounding violin and not so real sounding violin. But like, not a bad violin cos it still flows but it adds to the sort of distorted break core genre you often use so it doesn’t seem out of place. I love it

@zkassai.audio.2

As a fellow music and audio guy – I can hear some clues here and there that tell me this is a VST, but it still sounds pretty damn good! You made some of the "legato jank" that always exists in VSTs of complex instruments sound like the imperfections in a real human violinist's playing; and the slides, oh my god, I love those slides. Honestly most of the 'clues' my ear latched onto aren't even about your writing/programming of the instrument: it's things like stereo image changing slightly from note to note, or sudden timbre changes where you'd expect gradual ones. This is a long-winded way to say you did a pretty damn good job

@aless.c064

As a hobby videogame programmer I can confirm all of your music could be put as an RPG because they have so much meaning even though there's no voice, some sound bossfights, others are calm, and in my mind I imagine different scenes of a story everytime I listen to your music😃

@yournarrator1989

Beautiful work as always

@BIMBROVNIKmusic

Everyone talking about violin, but i want to appreciate this bass on piano🥰

@yumegiwa-last-boy

I could tell it was the sound of Bohemian Violin! This violin automatically expresses itself as if it were alive. On the other hand, it is difficult to adjust, so I respect your hard work, which shows in the music.

@anzion1037

Idk why but omori flashback Omor moment lmao Sounds real to me tbh

@absolutelymundane

I love the pacing for this one, for some reason it makes me feel jumpy.

@absolutelymundane

I can confirm, this indeed sounds real.

@YuriLais

i love how this song fits perfectly in an anime setting in italy or something, very romantic ❤
