I did this, and then went to my local lending library. I held another piece of wire in my left hand, and a dvd or a book in the right. When I got home, I found that I had overloaded the circuitry in my TV, so had to go back to the library and borrow a paperback. So definitely my life has improved.

I got all the trouble stripping wires just use the whole extension cord. I did this and I got 87 channels, but they all spoke Chinese.
This is in country's that still broadcast over air and yes you could just put an antenna on the roof like the old days. Cable companies bought the towers that needed over air in my area
Du bist so genial. Ich "genieße" deine Tipps immer. Der 1. und der letzte Tip habe ich auch schon gemacht. Das war Ende '80 (1980) Anfang '90er (1990) Jahre. Nun bin ich froh zu sehen, dass ich damals alles richtig machte. 😄 Nur mit Schleifpapier die Kabel angeraut, habe ich nicht. Es funktionierte aber dennoch prima. Die Idee mit der Spirale als Antenne ist auch super. Habe nämlich im Bad ein Radio ohne Antenne und nur ein Metallkabel gerade hoch zur Decke gelegt. Also ohne Windungen. Es funktioniert nur begrenzt. Ich denke mir, dass ich mit deiner Idee einen besseren Empfang haben werde. Holy impedance mismatch, Batman! This is wrong on so many levels for ATSC. You probably can't get away with it for too long with DVB, either. This is just asking for issues from EMFs and RFI. Imagine if you had to stop half-way through the project and left a stripped wire plug 🔌 laying around. Have fun with the kiddos plugging this in. It'll be a REAL ⚡ SHOCKER.

Tried it using UK plug. Can only get Russian TV on it now but what a vivid signal in 8k.
Worldwide 😂. I live a mile from my local transmitter and can't even get a signal from an indoor aerial. Love to see them get signal from US. The transmitter name is Whitehawk Hill, uk

Here in eastern Canada we have only 2 air channels, with this method receive many more? Also could this be used for a UHF VHF HAM radio as long as it has the same input attachment? Awesome technique you used!
