Today we're taking a look at a new
camera the Insta360 Ace Pro. which is really exciting and above all
allows you to access a host of new features. The new Insta360 Ace Pro has a lot of
great features starting with a really interesting new one the PURE VIDEO mode
which lets you shoot at night because it has a new chip inside. The amazing thing is that it helps remove
digital noise from videos. It means you have a chip that's built
right into your camera and it's going to remove all the digital n
oise you might
get. I'm not making too much noise because I
think everyone's asleep. Once again what we're going to notice is
that there's not really any digital noise. The quality that comes out is still pretty impressive. And with a tiny camera that you can hold
in your hand like this and film yourself you get a really high-quality output. It's obviously an action camera with FLOW
STATE stabilization horizon locking and all the features you'd expect from an
action camera today in 2024. The Ins
ta360 Ace Pro it comes in this box. It's right here. This camera has a unique feature: it has
a detachable screen that you can open in different ways. I'll show you in just a moment I really
like it. First off what's great a huge plus is
that it's extremely durable. Since it's an action camera it's going to
get shaken around quite a bit. And this this doesn't budge. It's really good it truly withstands
vibrations. So that's super super important. So we have a 2. 4-inch fold-out touchscreen that
you can
position however you like. I can film with my screen like this. You see it's facing me. I'm recording what's happening on the
other side. Typically I'm not filming myself. I don't want to film myself. I will examine what is in front of me. This method is effective. Another choice is to create a vlog. By flipping my screen 180 degrees I can
view myself. This approach is highly convenient. I see myself you see yourself everyone
can see themselves. That way I can vlog. It's really cool. And
there's another mode where I'll want
to hold my camera a bit lower. I'll tilt my screen up to 90 degrees
allowing me to see what I'm filming at the same time. That's pretty awesome if you want to film
while riding a bike or a motorcycle; you just set it up and see what's
happening in real time. And what's awesome is that you have a
1-inch by 1. 3-inch sensor with 2. 4-micrometer pixels. This allows for capturing more light
achieving a wider dynamic range and on top of that precise colors. For a
n action camera that's pretty
important. And what's particularly great here is
that it's co-designed with Leica. You know Leica they're the optics
specialists. Look it's written right here on the
inside. Leica. So it's a real mark of quality in terms
of optics. To mount it on an accessory Insta360
really went all out with a neat magnetic setup. You just place it like this you see it
snaps right on. That's pretty cool isn't it? It finds its position very easily. Then you just clip it in place. An
d it stays put doesn't move. No issues at all. It's super sturdy. This allows you to mount it on various
accessories. I'll show you the accessories in a moment
because there are quite a lot of them actually. This one that comes with it. You just unscrew position your camera
inside put the screw back in and turn. Since it's a camera that's securely
mounted on there it won't move at all. As it's an action camera we can obviously
film in many different resolutions. We'll have various angle sizes. A
nd most importantly what's really
interesting here is that we can go up to 8K. We'll find different modes for filming
it's very very simple. The touchscreen is extremely responsive
which is really important. You select your resolution... 8K 8K at only 24 frames per second but
still 8K. Then there's 4K 4K at 30 frames per
second. You can go up to... 4K at 120 frames per second. For slow motion it's just absolutely
incredible. And then you can go down to 24 frames per
second. I set mine to 30 it's
perfect here. 2. 7K 1080p your choice. You've got various lens options. Currently on DEWARP Ultra setting. I can switch to Action or Horizon Lock. Shooting in 8K 24 fps ultra mode. Still in 8K at 24 frames per second
we've switched modes we have a DEWARP mode that prevents distortion. That's pretty good for skiing action
sports and the like. But what we're interested in is the
ACTIVE HDR. What's ACTIVE HDR? Well it allows you to have highlights
that are fully optimized and shadow areas that are
visible. See you have shadows on the right you
have shadows on the left. Anything that's in high light well it's
overexposed it's just HDR. And this ACTIVE HDR it triggers
automatically and only from... 4K 30 frames per second Which means that if you go higher in... 4K at 60 and everything above well you
won't have the ACTIVE HDR. So to really take advantage of your
ACTIVE HDR it's 4K 30. The... mode I love is the clarity zoom that lets
you zoom in... x2 by double-tapping the screen. You see li
ke that clarity zoom. Hello it's me I'm here. Double-tap again and you zoom back out. Then you can do it directly. You have this little button here see that
lets you activate the clarity zoom. But if you do it with the other hand just
double-tap and there you go clarity zoom. It's really a 2x zoom. Essentially you're zooming within the
sensor. But since you have a large sensor well
you don't lose quality. The thing that already impresses me if
you will is the face recognition you have there. You
see the frame around my head. When I put my hands in front it doesn't
lose me. And there it picks me up again. So the thing is really super effective at
focusing right on the face. And if you want to pull off some
acrobatic shots like placing it on a rail or whatever you choose and you're not
sure if pressing the button might knock it over—well there's a really cool feature
which is gesture control. You can be at a distance just put out
your hand it'll recognize it and start recording. So here
as you can see I'm talking and
the recording has started. It's really quite handy... By the way I should mention that there's
voice control too—you can use it to start the camera but it only works in English
or Chinese unless you speak Mandarin which is great. But I don't. English is fine but that's not the point. So we'll just stick to using hand
gestures and that's already very very good. So here I am recording and I'm going to
stop it just like this. Look this is my hand. It stops right here
which is incredibly
convenient. Let me demonstrate how to begin a
recording. And to snap a photo I simply arrange my
fingers like so. It captures the photo in 3 2 1. I pause it. There I've got the photo in the box and
then it switches modes you see so now I'm in photo mode and then I wave my hand
like this it recognizes it switches back to video mode it's recording directly and
then I stop it like this it's convenient. There's another great feature here it's
called pause during recording. For in
stance right now I'm talking to you
explaining something about the camera. And if I draw a blank what do I do? Well I just press right here and voilà it
pauses my recording. So now I'm stuck at 11 seconds and I can
take a moment to talk to you think to myself wait what was I going to say? Oh yes that's right I remember. Now I resume recording by pressing
directly. I can pick up where I left off continue
explaining the feature I was talking about and so on it's good it's
convenient. And then bam
another memory lapse. I say to myself really today I just can't
seem to get it right. So here I press this. It indicates that the recording is
paused. Tap the icon below or the shutter button
to continue recording. So here I press this and it resumes the
recording. Now I can speak naturally and so on. Then I come back press this to pause and
then press again to resume. It's that simple extremely convenient. Later I can press here directly. and come to pause it so I can do it
directly with the sh
utter button it's very very simple and when I'm done well I
press here and it stops the recording. The file is saved. What's also interesting is that it puts
everything into a single file. It's the same video file you'll have. So you pause your video and then resume
at different points. In the context of maximizing storage
efficiency a clever feature has been implemented to aid in the effective
organization of your recordings. Picture this: you're recording yourself
engaging with the camera shar
ing your thoughts and suddenly an unwanted
interruption occurs. In such instances you can swiftly press
and hold a designated button to trigger the removal of the undesired segment. This prompt deletion ensures that
unnecessary footage is promptly eliminated allowing you to recommence
without delay. Furthermore should you opt to reverse the
cancellation mid-process simply releasing the button before completion
will preserve the recording. This functionality empowers you to
reconsider and retain
the footage at the last moment preventing its permanent
deletion. There are plenty of other features here
that have caught my interest all directly integrated by Insta360. Starting with photograb which allows you
to snap a photo while you're recording. There's also autodash—it's a dashcam
feature; it needs to be constantly powered but you
can use it as a dashcam. There's also dynamic timelapse
timeshift and starlapse for capturing the stars in motion. Loop recording and of course
pre-recording—w
hen you press the button bam it's already captured what happened
just before. Scheduled recording. In short there's a ton of features built
right into this camera but what really excites me is the AI WARP. It'll let you do some truly incredible
stuff just watch. We'll... choose a shot like me on a skateboard. I'll select the part that catches my eye
the moment I'm skateboarding until I get here. I require between 4 and 15 seconds. Next I'll select my preferred style:
Winterland cyberpunk space r
etro anime sci-fi. Jingles voxel and then 8-bit. To demonstrate an effect let's opt for
cyberpunk and I'll preview to capture the scene's essence. Look we're immersed in a distinct
ambiance which is perfect. If desired I can delve deeper into
customization with a prompt. I might choose a tropical or Hawaiian
vibe or any other theme. Considerations like watercolor green
painting... Gothic Picasso Cézanne Da Vinci
Michelangelo Van Gogh. Let's go with Van Gogh. If I wish to preview Van Gogh we'll
w
itness skateboarding in his realm. I absolutely love the cyberpunk universe. I click on it and create an AI video. Heads up I'm allowed three videos per
day. Let's go! You can slow down the clip to 0. 25x if you want. It's... a bit slow. I quite like the effect at 0. 5x the slightly slowed-down feel it's
pretty good. You can choose the music there are lots
of different tracks it's up to you. I like this one it's fun. It's really cyberpunk. Then you go to export it. You can see we're in... 1920x1
080 30 frames per second. You can come and customize. I'm going to increase the bitrate a bit
actually quite a lot and then I export. After that I have the video saved on my
smartphone. Another thing Insta360 did with its app
is that you can of course transfer your videos from your camera to your
smartphone but what's cool is that you can also use your smartphone at the same
time where sometimes with competitors you have to wait you can't move you have
to stay on the screen. Here you can do some
thing else. It saves you from wasting time and in
terms of productivity gains it's pretty good. Action cameras inevitably mean
accessories. Insta360 has provided a plethora of
accessories for you. The Vertical-Horizontal Mount allows you
to install your camera either vertically or horizontally. You put it in clip it in place and it's
secure. Then you can attach it either like this
so it faces you or vertically. After that you just add this piece here. Either I tell you you put it like this
right
here and then you're set up for a more traditional shot. And then you think "now I want to switch
to a vertical shot so what do I do? " I just attach it to the side here and
now I'm ready for a vertical shot. It's incredibly clever and especially
very versatile. We've got another neat thing this the
COLD SHOE. And the COLD SHOE what does that allow
you to do? It lets you mount a small microphone. If for example you want to record with
better quality you just slide it in here and you're all set
which is pretty cool. There's another neat one too this the Mic
Adapter which allows you to connect a microphone. You just open this part here remove this piece and then you position
it. You've got USB-C here just clip it in
properly. It snaps shut nicely at the bottom snaps
shut nicely at the top. And now you can plug in Jack connectors
to connect a microphone. And you can also plug in here with USB-C
to charge it... Another accessory that's quite good since
we're dealing with an action camera
is a screen protector that you can apply to
the back to obviously protect your screen. And then the last one the one I
particularly like is the GPS Preview Remote. I wear it on my wrist; it's like a little watch. I'll press here and that starts the
recording. So now you see I'm talking directly into
the camera. And then just like that I press again and
it stops the recording. Essentially it's a kind of monitor screen
that I've integrated into a watch strap. Here I can access my different modes.
In video mode you see pure video I can
switch exactly like on my camera. It's very simple and very intuitive. I can also change my resolutions... 4K. I can go up to... 8K. But to obviously have the ACTIVE HDR I'll
stick with... 4K 30 that suits me fine. I have my clarity zoom. I also choose my lens. I can start a recording directly. I can also pause my recording as we saw
earlier and resume it very easily. That way it's really quite cool you see. I can add little markers if I need to. I can take
a photo. I have everything right here at my
fingertips just like I would on my monitor except now I'm remote. And then I can switch it up like a watch
display. So you see if I don't want it in watch
format I can take it off directly and hold it in my hand. And if I want look I can also use this
sort of small mount which isn't a strap this time it's more for placing it on a
bike or a motorcycle handlebar. You put it inside and in the same way you
can start and stop it very easily. Just like that
I can start a
recording—and stop it... just as easily and remotely. Once again I find this accessory amazing. By the way if you're interested I've
put a link right down in the description. There's another great feature the
highlight AI assistant. Let me explain how it works. You go back into your camera and you can
easily navigate through the different shots you've taken. You see at the bottom right there at the bottom there's a little flag with
a number. That corresponds to the highlights that
have been identified in your video. For instance in this one I have four. I click on it and it shows me the
different highlights that are selected. I can see their duration a few seconds
three seconds four six seconds and so on. Then what I can do is export by clicking
right up there on the right. I select the highlights I want. For example I want all of them in this
video. There it goes and then I confirm. So here I can either split the clips
saving each clip as a new file or I can merge the c
lips saving it as a new file. This will actually create a new video. So I'm going to merge them and then it
will be sent to my application. And then I'll find my video on my
smartphone with the different moments that have been cut. After that it gets even better because
there are tons of amazing features in the Insta360 app. You can go into memories. The app automatically generates memories
based on the content you've already shot. There are loads of different modes
depending on the Insta360 cam
eras you have. It shows you what you can do with them. It's very very very comprehensive and
super easy. You're guided taken by the hand so you
can easily unleash your creativity. I can also take photos with it. I'll have two resolutions to choose from:
either 48 megapixels or 12 megapixels. Here I'll snap a quick picture of my
Coco. This is the photo in 48. Then I'll switch to 12 megapixels. Photo in 12 megapixels. And what Insta360 obviously recommends is
that when you have a lot of light shoo
t in 48 and when there's less light switch
to 12. Personally I'm a fan of this Insta360
Ace Pro. Why? Because if you're looking for an action
camera to film during the day to film at night there's the ACTIVE HDR mode for daytime shooting and there's
the PURE VIDEO mode for nighttime. I find that extremely convenient
obviously thanks to the integrated chip. That's huge. It's clearly an action camera. I mainly use it for vlogging like this
and to talk to you. But if you're a ski champ or like me y
ou
want to skate stroll around or get some action it's... truly made for you. And if you're interested you know the
drill I'll obviously put a link right down in the description. And speaking of Insta360 there's another
camera I showed you a while back the Link which is really cool it's a smart
webcam. I'll put the video right here go check it
out and let me know what you think.

Ace Pro is not an action camera.
