Instagram Donate Button Tutorial for Nonprofits

- Hey non-profits! Have you heard? Instagram now has a donate button for your Instagram bio. This is really exciting because instead of somebody having to click the link in your bio, leave the Instagram, they're now able to just go to your bio and click the button. So you can create Instagram posts with call to actions that say "Visit our bio and click the donate button". So in today's video, I'm gonna share the four steps that you need to do to make sure that you can access the donate button an

d I'm also gonna show you step by step how to activate this button if you already have Facebook fundraising tools. So let's get into the steps. The first step is that you need to be a non-profit that's approved as a Facebook charity. So this means that you've been approved for the Facebook fundraising tools. If you're already able to create Facebook fundraisers, maybe you've already been using the Instagram donate sticker, you don't need to do any of the other steps. But if you are just starting

out, you'll need to get approved first. Now once that's approved, in order to use the donation tools on Instagram, you need to make sure that your Facebook and Instagram account are connected. So once they're connected, Facebook says "Yes, that's a non-profit that's already been approved", and this is because Facebook and Instagram are the same company, so you just need to link the accounts together. Once they're linked, you need to go to your Facebook page and then go to your publishing tools.

On the left-hand side, you will see a menu for fundraisers and then there's a donation settings link or button. When you click that, you will see that you can activate for other people to fundraise for you, adding buttons and adding Instagram stickers. So make sure that all of those are checked and once they're checked, what you wanna do is go to your Instagram profile. So I'm gonna screen-record this so you can see step by step where to access what I'm talking about. So you go to your Instagra

m page, and then go to your bio so that you get the three lines. Click on those three lines so that you can access Settings. And when you're in Settings, you wanna click Business. And this is because you wanna make sure that you're the business, you have a business profile. Now you should see donations on the very bottom. And when you click that, you just toggle on the option to add a donate button. And when you go back to your bio, you now have a donate button. It's as easy as that. So what you

can start doing is creating those social media posts, you can also tell people in your stories to either click the link in your bio or you can add the Instagram donate sticker.
