Iranain movies ir oscar The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited the film industries  of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language  Film since 1956 and Iran has submitted a total of twenty-six films for Oscar consideration and  three films have received an Oscar nomination. Of the three films, two films has won the award. We are going to introduce these films Number 1 Children of Heave Children of Heaven is a 1997 Iranian famil
y  drama film written and directed by Majid Majidi , starring Amir Farrokh Hashemian, Bahare  Seddiqi and reza naji. It deals with a brother and sister, and their adventures over a lost pair of  shoes. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998. Number 2 A Separation A Separation is a 2011 Iranian drama film written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, starring  Leila Hatami, Peyman Moaadi, Shahab Hosseini, Sareh Bayat, and Sarina Farhadi. It focuses on  an Iranian
middle-class couple who separate, the disappointment and desperation suffered by  their daughter due to the egotistical disputes and separation of her parents, and the  conflicts that arise when the husband hires a lower-class caregiver for his elderly  father, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. A Separation won the Academy Award for Best  Foreign Language Film in 2012, becoming the first Iranian film to win the award. It received  the Golden Bear for Best Film and the Silver Bears for Best A
ctress and Best Actor at the 61st Berlin  International Film Festival, becoming the first Iranian film to win the Golden Bear. It also won  the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film and the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Feature  Film. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, making it the first  non-English film in five years to achieve this. Number 3 The Salesman is a 2016 drama film written and  directed by Asghar Farhadi and starring Taraneh Alidoo
sti and Shahab Hosseini. It is about  a married couple who perform Arthur Miller's 1949 play Death of a Salesman on stage. When  the wife is assaulted, her husband attempts to determine the identity of the attacker, while  she struggles to cope with post-trauma stress. The film premiered in competition  in the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, where it won two awards—Best Screenplay  for Farhadi and Best Actor for Hosseini. The Salesman was very well-received by film  critics, who mainly praised Farhad
i's direction and writing, and won the Academy Award for Best  Foreign Language Film. However, Farhadi did not attend the 89th Academy Awards ceremony in  protest of the U.S. Executive Order 13769.
