Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets at Northern Israel this morning in what the terror group said was a quote response to a deadly Israeli air strike in Lebanon hours earlier there is a lot to this as the Israel Defense Forces saying that more than 30 Rockets were launched at the city and Hezbollah has now claimed to have launched dozens of projectiles at the city and a nearby army base again a lot to talk about here so I do want to bring in Mary Eisen retired colonel of the Israel Defense F

orces and the managing director of The International Institute for counterterrorism thank you so much as always for taking the time to be here with us Josh always a pleasure to be here and to talk to people about our challenging arena for sure well first off I do want to talk about the situation that is developing there between Israel and Hezbollah there's been a lot of misinformation so to speak about the situation can you kind of break down the latest and overall what we know about this mornin

g's attack we all need to remember that balah is not just a terror organization designated as such by the United States the UK Europe and of course Israel it is also inside Lebanon one of the main forces inside Lebanon not only do you have kisala as a large very strong Terror organization there are additional organizations hisbah is Shiite like the Iranians it was also established very inspired by the Islamic revolution in Iran why did I give that background because today 171 days into this warb

ah has yet again again like every single day attacked inside Israel they flew into Israel dozens of different types of projectiles into a city of 25,000 people that Israel evacuated we had to preemptively evacuate it because they fire them in it is very close to the board of the city of kirat Shona the 25-year-old that you mentioned that was killed a young Israeli man a Drew that's a whole different category inside the Middle East arabic speaking different religion the Drews religion from the Is

raeli Golan Heights who was working in a factory an additional person in that factory it's a paper Factory was killed what does kisala the terror organization say what they're going to say is that Israel attacked in Lebanon what Israel did and we stated it clearly is we did a preemptive attack against a terror organization called el Jama islamia it's part of the overall Muslim Brotherhood it's Sunni Lebanese Muslim Brotherhood by the way Hamas is Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood and Israel did a p

reemptive attack immediately after the attack seven terrorists were killed Jamia put out the pictures of those seven terrorists killed what did kisala say that Israel had killed Lebanese and as we had killed Lebanese they were going to attack these are again these horrific type of things thatal does day in day out they are attacking Israel all the time we are both preempting Against Terror attacks responding to the attacks we're not going to sit idly around while this organization that has more

weapons than most militaries in the world um continues to attack inside Israel and talking a little bit more specifically about Hamas overall they've been launching rockets at Major Israeli cities as the UN resolution did pass that Demands a ceasefire that happening you know just days ago here so what does that say to you just to know that after that resolution is passed adopted by the UN Hamas is now firing more rockets and more missiles right there at Israel I'm going to be even sadder and say

that after the United Nations resolution came out kbal plotted at Iran applauded it Hamas applauded it Josh doesn't that say everything about that resolution and the fact that they applauded it Hamas has very carefully built a plan which was done over many years not only to send in the immense barges of rockets on October 7th and in that first week but to make sure that they have lots of rockets for as long as they can last right now when they send in eight or 10 rockets and those Sirens go off

they are making another Psych ological impact they still have certainly hundreds I'd even say thousands of rockets left out of the 20,000 that they had before October 7th and what they're trying to show is that they're still there what they want to show is that they Define the day-to-day life that they're doing what they call resistance what Hamas is doing is horrifically injuring and taking and and not taking care of the Palestinian civilians who live in the Gaza Strip Hamas have ruled there f

rom October 7 sorry from 2007 all that they did is gather weapons build an underground infrastructure and build it in such a way so that they would be protected by their own human Shields of people and they're doing this day in and day out the rocket firing into Israel when it goes further in is for them to say see we can still do so and that's in the face not just of Israel but of the world that a terror organization feels so strong that they can go out and do these things and get International

backing let's talk about the Rafa offensive can you tell me why it is so important there has been a lot of I guess controversy that's kind of an understatement though as far as the Rafa offensive goes why is it so important to Israel's mission to defeat Hamas so the controversy is not inside Israel there is enormous support in that sense for this kind of attack nobody wants a war Josh this isn't about yay there's a war it's horrific what Israel has been doing systematically in the Gaza Strip is

we are destroying the Kamas military capability I want to be clear to the viewers destroying in military terms is not about eradicating it's not about it's gone forever what we've done in the North in the center and we continue to do so it isn't something that you do overnight is we are destroying their command and control their capability to put together an attack like they did on October 7th it's destroying the command post the cache of weapons what the Hamas built over the last 20 years is i

n an enormous structure both underground and above ground as we do so systematically they still have local capabilities so they come out and fire a rocket they come out and fire an RPG or anti-tank missile and you it it's going to take literally a year or two to systematically destroy the military capabilities RAF comes into it because it's the only area the only Arena within the Gaza Strip that Israel is not touched we have not entered into there why because we're trying to save people's lives

there are over a million people there when we went into the northern Gaza Strip we took three weeks of telling people to move to a safe place that doesn't make it nice and easy it's a horrible War but to move to a safe place to save lives we did the exact same thing in the central area in hunis and in those areas when we work systematically trying to avoid any civilian casualties Hamas used the people as their human Shields but in the southern Gaza STP in the Rafa area we haven't touched the bat

talions they're built as a terror army they need to be as I say systematically destroyed and that's going to be that next stage it will happen it doesn't happen have happen tomorrow morning but it will happen it is imperative even if it doesn't have to happen tomorrow morning on that same note we did hear from us vice president kamla Harris where she said that Israel could face quote unquote consequences for that Rafa offensive is that going to stop Israel from conducting the operation Israel is

very aware I mean I'm Israeli I'm sitting here we don't sit and ignore the world I think that in this case the Gap is so intense joshh right now between how we view it we're still almost six months into the war we still don't know who the hostages are we still don't know anything about them we still have not in any way we're not in postt trauma we're in a war as we just talked about it before up north dozens of rockets into cities that nobody talks about in and around the world when we're talki

ng about Rafa it is part of the systematic destruction of Hamas everybody in including vice president Kamala Harris certainly President Biden all want us to destroy the military capabilities of Hamas all of us including the vice president all of us want to save civilian Lives who does not want to the Hamas for those out there if you have a good idea on how you destroy the Hamas military capabilities without going into Rafa I'm open for the idea same goes for all of the Gaza Strip I'm talking abo

ut destroying those military capabilities and in that discussion we will go forward we will destroy those military capabilities and we will do so with the full understanding that uninvolved civilians need to be protected they're going to get advanced notice they're going to be told to move they're going to be told where to move to we're going to give the humanitarian assistance that we have done throughout that doesn't make it less of a war it doesn't make it less horrific but we're going to tak

e all of those steps before we do something we've heard about dozens upon dozens of gunmen that have been killed at shifa hospital there during that operation and also dozens upon dozens of potential terrorists there Arrested how would you describe the operation at shifa hospital because it sounds as though it's been fairly successful for Israel isn't it horrible Josh that we're talking about you called militants I'm going to allow myself to call terrorists inside chifa Hospital take note of tha

t ladies and gentlemen they go into hospitals we were in that hospital months ago and that's what they do with these Subterranean tunnels is that they can come back in and we have taken dozens I would even say hundreds um prisoner from that hospital there are you can go online into the IDF website they have uploaded there several of the interviews with the terrorists who say that they're from the Hamas they're from the Islamic Jihad and they say that there were hundreds one of them said that the

re were a thousand Terror operatives who were in she hospital and Josh what they say is that they're in the hospital because that's where they feel safe I think it is absolutely horrific the terrorists feel safe they should never feel safe I think it is absolutely horrific that they use a hospital a school um a mosque all places that are places that should be places that should be outside the realm where are they not outside the realm when you are a terror Army that's who Hamas is you find them

in the different locations so we've arrested hundreds they are now going through in that sense The Prisoner process again everybody's looking for you know like it for to be I've heard that Swedish jails are very nice we're in a war it is Harsh people are arrested look at those um the the different interrogations in interviews with these Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists they're using the hospitals they see that as a safe place terrorists should never feel safe they cannot be allowed to have an

arena where they build themselves like they did in the Gaza Strip look at what comes out of it like the attack on October 7 I want to talk about a piece of news that is making the rounds here on social media as there's reports from and it's important to note the reports from the Hamas run Palestinian Health Ministry saying that as many as 12 gazin drowned while trying to get humanitarian Aid that was air dropped into Gaza and landed in the Mediterranean the terror group demanding that Aid be bro

ught in by ground what are your thoughts as I know that Aid is being brought in by ground or at least there's an attempt to bring it in by ground Aid is coming in by ground the challenge is not the stage where Israel is enabling it and allowing in hundreds of trucks and my heart goes out to the poor people who are starving because Hamas either takes it or cuts a deal or intercepts it or sends its own people again they use them as human Shields it is absolutely horrific should Israel now be fight

ing against Hamas to make sure that they can't continue to do so absolutely my heart can go out to people who see that Aid getting there and rather than try to fight against Hamas to get it these are the options that you have right now in the in the Gaza Strip that Aid coming in being taken over by Hamas who are cynically using it as Terror groups do and people swim into it an ocean to try to get that air dropped I would love it to be the full quantity that goes in would actually get Josh to the
