Kansas News Leader a local youth dance group has a busy month ahead and it starts with inviting people of all ages to celebrate their faith through movement Stephen Massey with it takes a village Inc is here to explain welcome thank you very much you were just saying this is a crazy month it's a crazy busy month but um it's definitely worth it um this weekend we have started on Friday into Saturday all day Friday evening starting at four o'clock it's called God's Fame which is fresh anointed mov
ement Evolution it's the price dance Symposium or a conference I have four awesome facilitators two here in Topeka see uh Locust and Lakeisha keitha or Keisha but we call her Monique prophet and then we have um from Houston Texas China low and then from Los Angeles California Aisha Thompson so we're really excited they're coming with different genres of Praise Dance what exactly is pray please dance and what can people expect to learn praise dance is any type of movement to gospel music or the C
hristian music or inspirational music for for that so so um and it's you can use flags you can use ribbons you can use your body you can use a white face or mime gloves I mean it's just it's it's pretty much just dancing to gospel music or Christian music yeah and what kind of things are people going to learn at the conference are they going to learn how to maybe have special services that would incorporate praise dance is it something you can put in regular services oh yes we definitely um push
ing for many there's many churches now that have praise dance Ministries something most of the time it's young young ladies they do have some young men doing the actual mime but they're they'll learn the ethics of how to start a Ministry how to make your ministry a little bit more vibrant in church services how to actually instead of a performance be more of a Ministry because there's some people that just you know they want to dance in church but they don't understand the ministry or the anoint
ing of the praise dance I mean and it really can bring in the Holy Spirit into a service it does it does sound good but what you're saying is not all pastors will appreciate it because just suddenly start busting a move in the eye oh no I mean there are people that do people yeah if it moves you right right exactly exactly so that that's pretty much it do you have to be a minister to come to this Symposium or can you just have an interest in the expression an interest um in anybody I mean if you
have um most of the time the ones that are coming the facilitators they are they have a calling upon their life to praise dance like myself but anybody can come I mean it you don't have to be a minute you can just be somebody that's interested or want to know a little bit more about it so yeah I love it I love it we'll give the dates in just a second but I first want to ask you're busy with dance camps right now yes Stephen Stephen Massey dance camp started uh June 5th it ends on July 13th we h
ave a showcase on July 15th which is the following weekend at the great Overland station over North Topeka um it starts at 6 p.m and there's a five dollar fee for that but we have about 30 kids that have come in of ajana Gumby is our director this year we have some awesome uh instructors there my mother who's actually sitting over here she actually feeds the kids the breakfast and lunch that we get from 501 so it's been we've had some great sponsors this year so it's been really great but we hav
e one more week after tomorrow and this Camp is full it's it's not full I mean we would like I mean we can serve up to about 50 but we've got about 30 so we're about more than halfway can people still sign up for that one or not this one because you've already started we've already started anybody can come to the uh anybody can come to the performance on the 15th yes and where should people watch if they want to maybe see when your next camp or opportunity to get their kids involved is um next u
