[Music] 212 is is our lap time yeah and how fast you guys around 30 something 134 you cannot [Music] compare I'm pretty new to F1 I like I watch you guys right we race a lot of times similar times to what we're racing too and similar is cuz we're all Racers right and we have that in common but the way you guys go about going to the racetrack and getting ready and your cars and your teams and all that it's so different than what Nascar is how many people are you in your team pretty much each car
has about 20 people at go okay that weekend so now we have a 20-minute practice and then 10 minutes after that we qualify Saturday already yes so like you got to be like on when you get there and you get small adjustments and straight away pulling straight in yeah Sunday and then we race Sunday yeah so like our seat time like we don't get in the car as much as we used to we race 38 times a year 38 races per year yes but we're not going overseas like you in different time zones all the races are
in the US I mean yeah yeah how many oval races and how many like uh normal road courses road courses so the majority of them are ovals the only one that we both race at is Kota Austin and Austin thinking about like how different it is to probably drive one of our cars versus your car at that track it's got to be like time all I got to look it up someone look it up 212 is is our lap time yeah and how fast you 13 something 134 but you cannot compare it's different discipline if we jump in a ncar y
ou give us you know the first time we jump in seconds per lap you know that because we would have no clue how to drive I I think the ovals the ovals is super difficult no how yeah I think like I mean if you grow up a certain way and you're and you're focused on doing a certain thing you're going get really good at that does it get physical for you guys too it does probably in a different way for you guys like we don't have the GeForce you guys have obviously it's aren't going quite as fast the y
ou guys have a what a 2hour race right yeah but typically at the end of a race are you guys R uh 3 and a half 3 and hours God yeah but that has to be crazy though like 3 hours and a half on a half a mile truck going left you've got the spotter we have a spotter you guys not have spotters no no but it's crazy how much they talk to that's crazy have you heard the radio it's constant communication for 3 hours and a half he keep talking to you like count of right left 50 10 there are a lot of differ
ences between the two sports I think at the same time we have the the same partner how much do they help you on track and how how much do they support you on track on the performance and reliability kind of things well I think it's kind of neat cuz you get to watch you guys and just kind of like that connection immediately right you have that for us you know we race a a spec car so everybody has the same chassis the same shocks Springs like we we can put different ones in but we have to buy it f
rom the same supplier and all so the cars are all the same except some little items right and one of the items is the lubricants we use and so we work really tight with penoil and shell to be able to develop uh you know a lubricant that's something that gives us obviously more horsepower more durability a big thing for us is running our engines a little bit hotter we work with Peno a lot to develop that um to try to try to find that Advantage right cuz if all the cars are the same if you can fin
d a little little bit for sure it Stacks up pretty quick I me we qualify the top 15 cars are within a tenth most of the time 10th and a half I mean it's nuts so it's a little bit like you stack a few of those together it's noticeable shell develops your fuels right and your lubricants and everything in the car yeah yeah yeah and we've got like a small house uh on track that follows us everywhere which is called the shell track lab where we've always got like two or three scientists from Shell fo
llowing us analyzing the fuel and oil sample after every sessions in order to after every single run actually every time we stop in the Box they take a sample of that even if it's a two run yeah they take a sample they analyze it they go back to the engineers just to analyze the wear of the different parts in the engine and uh make sure that there's nothing going wrong it's like basically a blood test for for our engine I that's cool to hear all that right we don't get to to have as much of that
stuff so that's that's interesting dude but the craziest thing to me is that we are using 99% of the same fuel as Road cows like normal Road cows in a Formula 1 car which is uh which is crazy and I think is great for sh because they can use Formula 1 to develop new fuels and then bring it to the whole uh automotive industry with better fuel better better lubricants so it's uh yeah that is amazing great is you have a Proving Grounds where you can try things and develop things that are I mean I'm
pretty sure we're pushing cars much harder than most people are on the street or at least I hope so I hope so too guys don't refuel during the the race right so you got what you got there used to be a time where if one did refueling they thought maybe it was better just to change tires rather than also fuel the only problem that comes with that is that the car at the beginning of the race is very heavy compared to what it feels like in qualifying 78 seconds lower but that's also Tire management
new tires DRS it can get crazy that is way slower yeah no no it's the car feels completely it's like you're driving a different category 4 seconds are coming from from the from the amount of fuel that the car has from the weight of the car then another 3 seconds comes from tires management huge you guys so you can't just hammer down the whole time and wear tires out no no we've got to manage the tires like crazy we' become Tire Whisperers we're what's the direction that NASCAR is taking in term
s of sustainable fuel for the future I think it's not just what we do on the racetrack it's how we get to the race drive we use renewable diesel in our trucks uh we do a lot of stuff inside our shop try to help from that standpoint as well I think every every step that we can make as a race team we do and then as a sport you know as a sanctioning body um they've they've approached it in a lot of different ways to try to to help that piece of it as well what about you guys we have them the Ean fu
el that is 10% ethanol that we we were developing together with show for two years as if one wanted to push their sustainability and now for 2030 if one wants to become net carbon zero which also involves all the hospitalities all the pad all the traveling and obviously the F1 cars no and I think it's developing in the same direction and uh together with shell we are yeah pushing flat out to try and make the fuel even more sustainable F1 is coming up now with new regulations for 2026 to make the
cars also more efficient less fuel consumption during the race even active aerodynamic so yeah they're thinking about how to to make A1 um carbon Net Zero for 2030 is the main target which I feel like is really hard to do in Motorsports race car is going really really fast that's hard to do but but they've done an incredible job because we went when we switched to the E10 fuel yeah to be honest we didn't feel any changes on our side like in terms of performance or driveability or reliability it
was basically transparent for us which was incredible worked done by shell to make it uh obviously more sustainable and not changing actually the drivability and the power that we will get from the engine which um in Motorsport is important we don't even know ourself how many horsepower we actually have in you know you're roughly somewhere we know it's around a thousand no one says the real numbers like the manufacturers they don't reveal everyone says around a thousand that's we we get the sam
e thing they give us a graph and there's any kind of upgrade and go there's a here's the Baseline and this one's a little bit worse here a little better here and like what are we making though they'll never tell us no give me the number I know it's not enough I know for sure more or less we're like 750 7 yeah yeah well that's pretty similar to I think our um our internal combustion internal combustion engine then we've got the electric engine that add that's get you 200 something like this I gue
ss that's something with DRS no we have so we have the ice which is the internal combustive engine that it's around 750 800 horsepower and then we have the mguk K that is 160 horsepower but this is fixed for all teams it's a limit of the deployment that you can have and then on top of that on the Straits we are able to use the RS on the main Straits of the circuit here is a and it opens the wing and it gives us another 30 kilm an hour more that is Bonkers to see how much faster you guys go that
thing opens up it's like the the last second like dive bomb in there like you can't defend it like you're going too fast like you've got you've got something not not something similar but when you spin you've got these things that are opening to slow down to slow the car down no a lot of those are more um a little bit to slow the cars so roof flaps that come up and then we have a diffuser flap that comes down a lot of us just to keep the car on the ground they so they don't go up in the air like
our Super Speedway so Daytona Tad get like a 2 and a half mile track um we run a restrictor plate we're just wide open all the way around how many how many mic per per hour do you we're like 200 at those that's three that is fast so and you're in a pack cuz when you think about it right everyone's wide open you can't go faster and so the only way you go faster is how many in the race there's 40 in the race and so it's just it's a three- wide pack of just going through there and so you work the
draft and that's that's where you use your spotter a [Music] lot what do you drive uh street cars so I like I like a lot of old cars I don't know if you guys are in the classic cars like or not I like driving something 28a GTO okay that is my dream one day maybe what are you waiting on I mean they're not easy to find and they incredible cars you might know a person yes yes I do see that yeah what car do you drive Carlos what I really use during the weekends is the Ferrari a12 competi they just r
elease that car as soon as I arrived there and it actually became my favorite car ever that I had seen like the look of the car is for me the best road car the look i' the line and everything I said I need to buy this and I bought it and um I bought another one now since I knew that we only use 99% of the same products as in F1 mhm for that weekend I go to the Shell station and I don't I don't risk anything else than shell you got to take care of them you start like getting the parts and all tha
t like can you're putting the right oil on it and taking care of Maintenance side of these things well if it works in your race car probably works in your street car pretty well a new shs what car do you drive well I've got a 488 Pista but I've also got the competi one no not yet in December but my cars are like my babies I need to take care of them uh sh Helix Ultra shall V power in it so I know the product I know exactly how it's been developed because we are developing it so having said all t
hat you come to the P or not I'd love to you I sit in the car I drive this same go show you right let's try [Music] that

@superxavxii421

Wish they did this more often. F1 and NASCAR drivers getting thier own perspectives across

@defne3492

Carlos and his ADHD: let me rearrange all the cards and show off my skills while also engaging in the conversation

@Banyo__

At least Shell is trying to make this same old conversation selling themselves through the drivers seem more interesting with a conversational style. Last year, they were two clicks away from holding up a Shell Logo to the camera and grinning while the light hits their teeth just right.

@amypreston6037

i don't know why but when Charles said "three and a half hours going left" it made me laugh <3

@m4chfive

love the completely natural and not forced way they made the drivers talk about the sponsor

@MMR_Hotspot

Ah I like what Carlos said “You cannot compare, it’s different disciplines.”

@leilegion

You know Carlos was serious about that engineering deep dive way back in his McLaren days.

@PriscillaAmal

Carlos be like...F**k the roundtable...let me showcase my OCD skills" 🤣🤣🤣

@SuperMarkizas

This Joey driver seems like a very nice person, first Nascar driver I've ever seen or heard.

@virajasher6468

Wish they could've spoken a little about the common thing between Ferrari and Nascar: Kimi Raikkonen

@vrccb

Best advertisment so far. Much, much better. This is actually interesting.

@Gtort82

Need to see them do a car swap for real!!

@andrewhall3715

As a F1 fan and a NASCAR fan, I loved this.

@pebbie

I could watch an entire 2 hour podcast of this, genuinely so interesting

@karanagarwal999

Best celebrity branded content ive seen in a while. Kudos to the three of them for making the conversation sound real and not a plug.

@RobertHarridge

Some NASCAR drivers were in Vegas for the Grand Prix, but I would love to see some F1 drivers at the Daytona 500. Completely different disciplines, but seeing those cars going 190mph in a 40 car pack, 3 wide, inches from each other’s doors, pushing each other, using the air to slow the car next to you… it’s really insane. As a fan, it’s crazy to watch a pack go around a track 2.5 miles around in about 48 seconds.

@fatjeff8083

As much as is made of how superior F1 technology is, Charles and Carlos seem impressed by the details of what Joey does. Especially the short practice and length of NASCAR races.

@charlieboyd4431

first time ever i heard a f1 drivers say ovals are hard. thank you for recognizing the skills of different discipline

@KayJblue

Hopefully Logano doesn’t do any cheeky tactics in this game. Jokes aside this is a really awesome crossover.

@Randomhumanperson.

Ferrari drivers AND Joey... My childhood is meeting me now
