- [Host] This is called Panipuri. You wanna take your finger or your thumb and poke a hole in it. (panipuri cracks) - Helena! (panipuri cracks) (both giggle) (playful music) - [Host] Hi. - Hi. - Hello. I'm Vipra. - And I'm Vrisha. - [Host] Ethan, are, are you doing okay over there? - Yep, ready for the day. - Are we gonna eat something? - Yeah. - We are! Today, we are trying food from... - [Both] India! - I don't know anything about India because I never been there. - She's been there before,
just when she was little. - I remember nothing. - I never tried spicy food. - Yes you have, you love spicy food. He eats like a whole bag of Takis all by himself. - We've had curry, naan. - Curry, naan. I don't know. - I have bad memory today. So I don't really remember. - Are you ready to try some new ones? - Yeah. - I like trying new foods. - [Host] Ethan, you look so excited. - I know, I am so excited. - [Host] So excited! - Let's do it. (both laugh) - You're so tired. - [Host] First things f
irst, you gotta close your eyes. Okay, you can open your eyes. What do you see? - Naan. - Oh pita bread! I love pita bread. - Is it Paratha? - [Host] It is, it's Aloo Paratha. - Can I, what is this? - [Host] That is called Achar. - It smells spicy. - Okay. - Tastes like pickle. I don't think I've ever heard the name, but I can recognize the taste. - I never tried this before. - Yeah. - [Host] It's all about trying new foods for the first time. - Nah. - I'm hungry. I'm gonna eat it. - Does it tas
te like watermelon? - No, it doesn't taste like watermelon. It's kind of spicy. - I can barely even taste the spice. - It tastes kind of pickled, like asparagus or something. - [Host] The main ingredient in that one specifically is mango. - Oh, this is mango? - [Host] Yeah, pickled mango. - It's good. - It's yum. I love it. Like I love it. - [Host] Do you think everyone would like it? - Anyone would like it. - Thumbs down. That means I don't like it. - Leo, you haven't even tried it. Don't be ru
de, try it. - [Host] What do you think? - Thumbs up. I'm gonna try more food. - [Host] This is a very elaborate dish. There's multiple parts to it. - [ Vipra] Is it Panipuri? - [Host] Nice, called it. - These are like cookie sort of things. - You gotta poke a hole in the puri. - Poke a hole in there. (Panipuri cracks) - Helena! - [Host] That'll do. (both laugh) - So the puri doesn't get soggy, you have to put this thing first. - We have to put the dry things first, then put the water in. - That'
s water? - It is water, but there's some stuff in it. Spices, some chickpeas. - And that's why you have plates. (Host laughs) (bite crunches) - [Host] What do we think, are you a fan. - I'm a fan of Panipuri. - We actually had like a, what, two days ago. My mom always makes everything. - We make it like curves. - [Host] Is it like shaped a little bit differently when you guys make it all home? - It's shaped the same, but it's like flatter a bit. (bite crunches) - This is my favorite one for now.
- [Host] All good, all right. - We're ready for the next one. - [ Vipra] Oh, I can smell the rice. - [Host] What do you think is in the silver bowls. - Some sort of potato curry masala thingy? - [Host] It's Lamb Vindaloo. - I'm just gonna try the rice right now. - [Host] You wanna try the rice? - [Leo] Nah. - Bye. Do I have to wait for you to eat it? - I'll be right back, and don't eat my food. - Can I just like pour this onto here? - [Host] Yeah. - Mm, or you could just do that. - This kind of
reminds me of curry. - I never knew India was in Asia. I mean, I have a world at home. - [Host] You have a world? - Yeah, it's round, you could spin it, - A globe. - And one time, I spin it really fast and then stuck my finger in there, and then it got stuck. - [Host] What country did your finger get stuck in? (both laugh) - I think it was Australia. Next up, Australia. - Is it yummy? I give it a thumbs up. Thumbs up. - Is that Ras malai? - [Host] Yes, it is! - Two forks together, wow! One for
each of us, okay at that? - Wonder what they put in here. Wait, can we open eyes? (Helena laughs) Helena! (all laugh) - Well, this is like ice cream. Texture is familiar. It's kind like mochi, but like softer. - Thumbs up Ras malai? - [Host] Yeah, you got it! - I never tried it. Can I try more food? - No, this is the last thing. - [Host] Should we go back to the other ones? - Yeah. (Host laughs) - [Host] Was anything you had today better than your mom's cooking? - My mom always makes the best. -
Yeah.
