starts right now tonight sacrificing the few to save the many that is the idea behind a city proposal aimed at flood control it could demolish more than a 100 homes with the goal of saving thousands more in a 100-year flood the night team John Paul bahas was there and neighbors took their concerns straight to the city a flood of emotions among Neighbors at brenwood Middle School only with many questioning a flood control proposal that cost some their homes I myself had 52 years in my home I have
never seen a flood that affects my home and I live right next to the drainage District the city of San Antonio is proposing a 52 acre drainage project near conon Creek along Highway 90 in west of I35 Public Works says roughly 4,000 homes in that area sit in a flood plane the rain event that we're trying to prevent is the 100-year storm event and this area has never seen a 100-year rain event and that is what we're trying to focus on so it's I know it's it's a tough sell to tell people that uh s
omething really bad could happen when something small has never really happened before assistant director of Public Works Robert Raina tells us the city is proposing three options each with a different cost and impact for certain communities but all three scenarios C for the demolition of over 100 homes the important thing is that those 100 homes that you purchase are in a in a risk level Factor so they are at risk of getting flooded and getting losing their house so we're trying to move them ou
t of Harm's Way and at the same time we can benefit other people Downstream so how would that work Rea says an independent third party appraiser would value each property and federal law requires the city to help cover the difference to get affected residents into new homes we're just hoping that the city does treat us fair and if we do have to relocate help these people uh the best they can I wish there was an alternative um but I understand how it works and it doesn't look like there is an alt
ernative City officials say all options are still on the table even the alternative of do nothing let's just pack it up which was the overwhelming favorite in the room but Raina says that choice comes with a risk if there is a flood that comes in that 100-year flood event and they lose their homes because they're designated in that 100-year flood event they would not be able to rebuild their homes and if they don't have insurance they're going to have a hard time finding a new place to live agai
n all three proposals are options are just proposals at this point in time and Public Works says the most important thing is they want to start conversations early and make sure those who are impacted are now aware they live in a flood plane they plan on meeting with neighbors again on April 9th but a location has not been set yet John Paul baras case 12 news and an important note uh regarding the insurance flood insurance is different and separate from homeowners insurance anyway we uh had anot

oint before or while he's in an sapd patrol car do any of the four officers Pat Gonzalez down before he's taken to jail that's important to note because less than an hour later the Bear County Sheriff says that a deputy patted down Gonzalez while he was being booked into jail and then taken for a strip search it was at that very point that Gonzalez took out the gun from his clothing and took his own life now we asked sapd if they could speak if we could speak with police chief Willam mcmanis abo
ut this and we were told that he wasn't available because internal Internal Affairs is still investigating the case but sapd did tell us that all four officers involved in Gonzalez's arrest are still on active duty so now I have a question if you remember that you remember that video that was back on March 8th a home on Wrangler run near i37 in southton Road went up in Flames when firefighters went inside of the home they found a dead family now tonight we've learned that that family they didn't
die from the fire instead they died as the result of a murder suicide San Antonio police tell us that evidence shows that 44-year-old Alfredo Pescador shot and killed three of his family members before setting the home on fire and then taking his own life now the victims are 40-year-old Blanca 19-year-old lesie and a 13-year-old boy who sapd has not yet identified a bear county grand jury indicted a man and his parents in the case of the deaths of an 18-year-old woman her 22-year-old boyfriend

o show that the gun that was used in the killings belonged to Christopher peral's mother all three are going to be arraigned on Friday this is not a maybe there are definitely other victims out there he said more victims tonight we're learning about this man this is 19-year-old Saul Falon iar the Bayer County Sheriff's Office says that he's in jail for posing as a 14-year-old girl to lure another 14-year-old girl into having sexual conversations now we want to show you a video from last week of
Falcone be being walked by bcso deputies Sheriff habier Salasar says that one of the victim's family members had told deputies about some of the messages that they found allegedly between the teen and the suspect in addition to being charged with online solicitation of a minor Falcone vahra is also charged with possession of child pornography now the sheriff you heard him a moment ago he thinks that there are more victims if you know anything about this if you know any of the victims call the sh
