from case at 12. the news at noon starts right now a weekend filled with deadly violence shaking the nerves from one end of San Antonio to the other including a targeted shooting at North Star Mall San Antonio police now sorting through the investigation learning more about who was shot and killed and why they are now looking for who they are now looking for Jonathan Koto live where just briefed by police chief William McManus Jonathan a very scary shooting for those at the mall have we learned
anything new Ursula that's right a very scary weekend filled with a lot of deadly events we know this weekend was certainly a busy one for San Antonio police I'm outside of Public Safety headquarters here where we just wrapped up that press conference and yes we have definitely learned some new preliminary information Chief William McMahon is sharing with us that there are some connection with some of the events that took place this weekend this is what he had to share let's take a listen this i
s all targeted these are not random mass shootings where somebody's just opening up into a crowd these are very specific and targeted events but I will say though that when these events happen there is danger to innocent bystanders now there's also new information on the suspects involved in that shooting at Northstar Mall Chief William McManus says the two suspects were dropped off were seen through surveillance video dropped off at the mall one of them thin and built wearing a black hoodie and
light-colored shorts the second individual wearing a black hoodie and dark colored pants of course this is all preliminary information and these cases are under investigation it's important to mention that the shooting just several weeks ago on future Drive involving a two-year-old victim Chief William McManus says they are making great advances and says arrests are forthcoming reporting live outside of Public Safety headquarters to Jonathan Koto KSAT 12 news thank you Jonathan several other sh
ootings took place over the weekend including a law enforcement of all shooting this won a bear county sheriff's deputy shot and killed a band who had attacked him after hitting his sister the man's name has not been released yet but we know it happened Saturday morning in neighborhoods south of Fair Oaks Parkway on the fair far Northwest side of Bear County the incident started with an argument between the man his sister and a brother-in-law an example of teen violence taking the life of an 18
year old man killed in a Saturday afternoon shootout this happened at an Eastside apartment complex while Jeremiah Hardeman was actually died in that shooting he was not the actual intended target two others also injured here and so far no arrests have been made a 16-year-old boy shot yesterday afternoon after an argument with another person on the city's West Side that happened around one o'clock and parking lot on Colima Street not far from couples in Castroville roads the teen was shot in the
leg but is recovering no information about the shooter has been released San Antonio police can some help from Leon Valley police in searching for the suspect and yet another shooting this one around 5 30 yesterday afternoon near the Glen Drive Glen Ridge Drive and Evers roads the man was shot in the chest during an argument that Spilled Out onto the streets at last check he was still in the hospital in critical condition that shooter though still on the run and finally the seventh shooting ove
r the weekend police have a possible suspect in custody for shooting on the southwest side that happened near I-35 just before 5 yesterday afternoon one person injured police believe this incident stemmed from an argument as well foreign over the weekend we had some rain serious rain in a lot of places and a lot of lightning too looks beautiful today looks nice right now we got blue skies there were several days in a row now that we've seen measurable rain at the airport we could make it another
day today but we'll see it's it's going to be a matter of where things kind of pop up and where they develop at the moment our radar is fairly quiet we have a few showers and storms down to the south and east of San Antonio some lightning strikes and some good heavy rain down around Goliad just to the west of Yorktown seeing some rain there but you'll notice over San Antonio it's all quiet right now I think as we get later into the afternoon with some Daytime heating we will get some showers an
d storms to develop much like yesterday they'll be kind of pop-up random downpours but you could see some good rain out of it let's look at the case that 12-hour forecast a 40 percent chance of rain we bring those rain chances up around three four o'clock this afternoon as we reach our Peak temperatures near 85. down into the low 80s tonight in eventually 70s rain chances should diminish by 8 9 clock with the loss of daytime Heating and as we go outside for you one more time partly cloudy skies
and look at the weather headlines be prepared for a quick pop-up today have the umbrella on standby but know that there are drier days ahead lower odds of rainfall Tuesday and Wednesday and by the time we get into the weekend we could be talking mid 90s with regards to the temperatures and not only that it's going to be humid as well we look ahead with the seven-day forecast coming up in just a couple minutes guys traffic closure always a roadblock in the summer as families try to hit the road f
or vacation but not all construction is happening in town Stephen Cavazos joins us with some of the trouble spots you need to look out for and tells us why are these areas shut down month of June has just begun but we have a lot of road work that is taking place this month so let's get you in the know before you have to go we're going to start here along I-10 in Kendall County there's painting work that's been ongoing for quite a while that work's going to pick up on Monday June 5th and it's goi

people in two states ABC's Andrew dimbert with the scare and the tragic aftermath that took the life of a mother and a two-year-old scary moments in the nation's capital Sunday a sonic boom heard for miles across Washington DC in the surrounding area very jarring we thought it was probably an earthquake people on edge as authorities work to figure out the source officials say a civilian jet aircraft a Cessna Citation flew through restricted airspace the pilot failing to respond to air traffic co
ntrol U.S military quickly launching six F-16 fighter jets from three bases to track the plane as it headed south into Virginia two f-16s over Washington having to travel at supersonic speed to catch up with the Cessna jet creating that sonic boom that reverberated across the region the Cessna spotted at 34 000 feet over a remote area in Virginia the pilot still not responding the fighter jets even firing flares to try to alert the civilian pilot but officials say the pilot appeared to be uncons
cious the plane likely ran out of fuel taking a dive and crashing 10 minutes later in a rural area killing all on board the aircraft was at thirty four thousand feet it stayed at 34 000 feet and it stayed on a constant headache so it didn't seem like it was a big threat some experts believe a lack of oxygen a condition called hypoxia may have incapacitated the pilot and passengers pressurization on an airplane compresses the air in the cabin to make sure that there's enough oxygen so that you ca

overseas a preview of the French Pro finals coming up this summer local teens turning a building into their canvas for a bright Community mural Tiffany huertas takes us to the west side where students are creating a mural to reflect the spirit the pride and the relationship between the South and the West sides of San Antonio it kind of gives me a good feeling in my heart that we're doing something good for them Kai Blackburn a student at Lanier High School is helping bring the stories of the we
st and south side of San Antonio to life with this mural and just be able to be involved in a project like this is huge for me the cultural arts organization San Anto Cultural Arts is heading this teen Community mural project it's the 62nd Community mural led by the non-profit and it's located near sarsamora Street and Buena Vista Street for this project we brought teenagers from the west and south side together to design a mural talking about the relationship between the two sides of town throu
gh meetings teens heard from residents about what makes their communities special the wings turn into like a la Brigade our wings in the back we have a reference to like the Aztec calendar where instead of symbols of the calendar the teens actually learned a lot about the different memorable locations the colors on this mural are inspired by businesses found in the west and south side of San Antonio Cassidy Fritz says teens have learned different skills throughout this process leading the commun
ity meetings talking to people getting out of their comfort zone and be able to be involved in this kind of brought me out and encouraged me to do more and want to go out more and get involved with people the teens hope to finish this mural by the end of the month Tiffany huertas KSAT 12 news outside with live cam look who's back Justin horned is back and did he bring rain or did he bring dry that's the question he brought lightning last night did he don't get me in trouble here I'm hoping to br
ing more rain we could use just a little bit more it's been a good month so far I mean June is still young but it's been good so far we've had several days in a row we may get a little bit more coming up today the aquifer I'm not going to say it's in good shape but it's moving in the right directions to 648.4 it's up three tenths of a foot in your pollen count look at molds very high eleven thousand six twenty that's migraine territory as David will tell you pigweed is in the little category we'
re going to talk about rain chances today how long they last and how hot it may get this week yet that's coming up [Music] you know we have the we talk about you know the humidity and the rain what it does to your hair and okay so I just want to make mention I'm going to show you some pictures of some muddy horses like you've never seen okay that's my barometer I know we got a lot of rain this weekend yeah I I know because I went out and mowed the yard and the grass was like oh yeah yeah it's uh
it's doing well right now we want to build up a surplus because we know what's ahead of us the summer uh tends to be hotter and drier is as you know so any surplus we can get right now is a bonus let's take a look at the radar and we're noticing we've got some showers and storms down there around Goliad some lightning strikes there there's some heavy rain uh that's not moving much so you're going to pick up some pretty decent rain down there if you're in that narrow Corridor nothing here around
San Antonio though right now things are pretty quiet we noticed one little shower there around Gonzales as well we'll zoom into that one it's just north and east of the city of Gonzales few lightning strikes and that really is going to kind of be the nature of what we see today you'll get these little pop-up storms we'll put down some good rain and then kind of fall apart it's usually how it plays out and that's kind of what we saw yesterday although the light rain stuck around for a little whi
le longer here in San Antonio here is that storm near Goliad and yeah it's a pretty healthy storm and it's starting to bring some that heavier rain into the city of Goliad if you're hearing the Thunder your uh in Goliad you're it's getting close to you so just be aware that you may get some good downpours now in San Antonio as I said uh pretty quiet we're not seeing much the moment we had some showers and storms earlier today and I do anticipate at least a little more activity by the afternoon i
t's just not there at the moment and as we look at the forecast this is just one computer model but it does show that we'll get these pop-ups going into the two three four o'clock hour this afternoon and a few more even around dinner time before we see things kind of wind down a little bit still shows some activity maybe around seven eight o'clock but I think after that with the loss of dates I'm eating you'll see most of this go away let's check it on our rainfall totals it has been good this m
onth so far .66 inches that is above average and since January 1st we're at 12.5 just a little bit below average 0.88 that's not bad considering where we were last year at this time and as we go outside free you can see the partly cloudy skies 83 dew point is at 66 North northwesterly winds at about 10. and temperatures around the area Stinson Kelly Randolph all in the low 80s here's the big picture and you can almost see a little bit of a Twist in the atmosphere right there so that's a kind of
a broad area of low pressure and that allows for some instability and allows for some of these showers or storms to pop up we're seeing a little bit of that across central Texas now and with the water vapor you can see it maybe a little bit better just a little bit of a spin there and we're starting to see some of those clouds begin to Bubble Up and I think that will again lead to some decent chances for storms a little bit later today right now we're calling for 40 percent chance scattered abou
t 85 degrees and then by the evening hours most of that goes away tomorrow rain chances come down some 30 percent on your Tuesday 87th 88 Wednesday just a stray storm I think our rain chances really start to kind of diminish midweek as a ridge of high pressure tries to nudge in that has an effect on temperatures 92 Thursday 94 on Friday there's a small window for Rain by the way Friday night into Saturday morning otherwise the weekend is going to be hot 94 Saturday 95 Sunday and we get humidity
with that too so it's not going to feel so nice these are actually more typical June numbers the rain has been helpful in keeping temperatures down guys sure has thank you coming up next the high school baseball season wrapping up this week in the Bernie Greyhounds are making a run at their second title game this school year why it looks like some late any magic to keep their season alive these birds expect this top pick of the NBA draft later this month still working on that Championship overse

ven deadly shootings from one end of San Antonio to another making this a very difficult Monday for police San Antonio police are now sorting through the investigations they're learning more about who was shot and who was killed at the mall and who they are now looking for Jonathan coach has been following the story throughout the morning he was just briefed by the police chief William McManus a very scary weekend for everybody especially those at the mall how did all that start Jonathan Ursula
a very scary weekend indeed this was a super busy weekend for San Antonio police we're outside of Public Safety headquarters where that briefing you mentioned just to rep now we're learning new updates on several casings but particularly the one that started at North Star Mall inside of a barber shop now we know San Antonio police responded to that barber shop inside of North Star Mall located at San Pedro Avenue and Loop 410 for reports of a shooting on Sunday around 3 P.M now Chief William McM
anus providing new information but important to say preliminary information let's take a listen at what he had to say this afternoon we are doing our job we are working hard to to address crime to deter crime to arrest people who commit crime what happens after that is is uh is out of our control now we know the victim that was shot and killed at the barbershop it was a 33 year old that has since been identified as Adam glass now one of the things that Chief William McManus was mentioning during
today's briefing is that this was not a mass shooting this was a targeted event and in connection with the other shootings he says several of these cases may be connected it may have some type of relationship but he did not specify which case shares that relationship of course these are cases cases that are going to continue to be under investigation reporting live outside of Public Safety headquarters to Jonathan Koto KSAT 12 news thank you Jonathan live cam outside it's humid it's one of thos
e days where if you do get migraines get ready because you could have one before it's all over you have one right now not today I had one yesterday uh-oh well it was a good one that mold uh it just really selling it up uh it's it's been fluctuating with these these rain showers you've been getting so it's been kind of up and down but hey it's in the very high category so yes mold's uh not doing us any favors I want to show you a picture here on KSAT connect we'll take you down to Carrizo Springs
I love this shot because that's right there's beauty near and far you see the sunflowers here and then in the distance you see the clouds bubbling up into some showers and storms and the rain has been fairly widespread in the sense that yes it's random but a large portion of our viewing area has at least seen something in the last few days and that's exactly what we need the aquifer has been jumping up a little bit so this has been a good pattern for us the radar right now is not showing a whol
e lot we are seeing some activity out near Gonzalez we showed you that earlier and then some activity uh close to Goliad with quite a few lightning strikes with this little band of rain which stretches from just about Yorktown down to Goliad that's where the heaviest of the rain is right now and there is quite a bit of lightning here from nordheim down to Goliad so that's where the heaviest rain is at the moment and then we notice this cell also near Gonzales which is putting on some outflow bou
ndaries you can kind of see them that's what happens these put out they put out these outflow boundaries and that can kick up a few more storms so you could get a little bit of rain there around Gonzales depending on kind of what pops up from that boundary storm chances today about 30 percent for now and then we'll bump it up to 40 percent as we head to the three and four o'clock hour this afternoon our odds are a little bit better it could affect the evening commute as well we're going to talk
