How did Lari White become the greatest star you never knew? A new documentary is about to reintroduce the late singer-songwriter to the world. http://LariWhite.org Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tammy Wynette both loved her songwriting. She sang backup for Julio Iglesias and produced an album for Toby Keith. She shared the big screen with Gwyneth Paltrow and later gave Tom Hanks directions at the Cast Away crossroads. So why don't you know her name? In 1988, Lari White won first prize after singing on the cable TV talent show You Can Be a Star. She soon relocated from Florida to Nashville where she found work as a writer at Ronnie Milsap's publishing company. By 1992, musician Rodney Crowell hired her as a backing vocalist in his touring band. By the end of that year, White was a signed artist with the Nashville division of RCA Records. The following year she wrote and co-produced Lead Me Not, her debut album. White's second release, 1994's Wishes, was a breakthrough success, producing three top ten singles, including Now I Know, a #1 music video. In 1998, White released Stepping Stone on the newly-launched Disney country label Lyric Street Records. In the early '00s, after a lengthy musical hiatus — which included becoming a mother and building her own recording studio — White released Green Eyed Soul, her first independently-produced album. #LariWhite #CountryCastAway #CountryMusic __ Learn how you can support this project at http://www.LariWhite.org
