Last Chance for Political Prisoner Julian Assange

[Music] Julian Assange set a new paradigm for  the freedom of press free speech and the truth as he sits rotting in a hole in subhuman  conditions at the behest of the world's biggest war criminals after already spending  years in Exile it kind of boils my blood that he sits there for exposing the truth of said  war criminals as they themselves continue to prosper and Advance through their ranks or  retire in luxury I've heard so many of the counterarguments attempting to justify such  persecuti

on of a clearly innocent journalist yet none of those arguments hold any water  to me is he a publisher as his Defenders allege well a couple of things William one um  these charges haven't been brought against any journalist ever in the United States because  Julian Assange isn't a real journalist right he never has been he's been a hacker his whole  life um he doesn't engage in the normal course of journalistic Ethics they filed an indictment  adding 17 counts under the Espionage Act and the c

harges under the Espionage Act are for things  that typical journalists engage in every day it's soliciting information from confidential sources  obtaining that information and then publishing it I understand that he's been a divisive figure  for some time but regardless of what you think of Julian as such there is no question that he has  paid and continues to pay an extraordinary price for bringing us the real truth about our world  and our leaders who are supposed to represent us the truth i

y wanted  to say a few things this morning about uh Alexi Navalny both not surprised and outraged  by the news reported death of Alexi Navalny l he bravely stood up uh to the corruption  the violence and the the all the all the bad things of Putin had him poisoned he had him arrested he had him prosecuted for fabricated crimes he sentenced into prison he was held in isolation even all that didn't stop him from calling out Putin's lies even in prison he was  a powerful voice of the truth which is

kind of amazing when you think about it reports of his death if they're true and I have no reason to believe it or not Russian authorities are  going to tell their own story but make no mistake make no mistake Putin is responsible  for Navalny's death Putin is responsible responsible for the past 13 years Julian  Assange has been held in various states of continuous captivity from Exile in London's  Ecuadorian Embassy were intelligence agencies tapped and recorded all of his movements  and conv

ersations including privileged legal counsel and medical consultations  despite his state of diplomatic immunity surviving multiple plots to kidnap and  assassinate him arranged by scummy fuck War Pigs like Mike Pompeo among others before being sensationally dragged off to Belmarsh one of Britain's most notorious maximum security prisons where he remains to this day UK resist resist no worries res UK must Julian has been completely deprived of sunlight any meaningful human contact exercise and s

o much more in an effort to snatch away  the few defiant yet dying Embers of his very being all of this prolonged torture and  deprivation of basic human rights has taken a very evident toll on Julian and it is clear  that they're trying to kill him slowly if he is not set free very soon they may just get their wish now I know that you've seen Julian in prison recently with your children but I I just want to  keep that connection alive with Australia do you know what Julian would Julian Assange

would say to Anthony Albanese about what he could do in the period of time that lies ahead of us he would  say prime minister saved my life the situation right now with Julian is so critical he could be  bundled into a plane within days of the decision the decision could come down this very week uh once he's in US custody he's going to be put in the deepest darkest hole in the US prison system and it will be much harder um for him to be freed uh he cannot survive Julian will be put in a hole if

he is extradited make there is no doubt about that he will be put in a hole so far and deep  that I don't think I'll ever see him again I have been sustained by your solidarity and I'm  grateful for the efforts of people all around the world you know I'm I'm a bit institutionalized there are police who have sight of every window uh on the embassy that is extraordinary including  in the interior firewalls they hide behind the toilet window I even if you were to take the side of those who call him

a criminal surely if you have any kind of human soul one could see that he's served his time already he's currently held in remand since 200 9 at London's Belmarsh prison as the United States extradition efforts are being contested in the British courts currently indicted over 17 charges of Espionage the case has now come to arrest after 2 days of deliberation in the  Royal courts of Justice range was absent due to poor health I mean he's not in a good way uh he's he wasn't able to attend uh th

e court proceedings uh because you know he's he's unwell so that's the toll of this whole processes taking on him uh this you know endless uh Court proceeding as well as the 5 years in a Maximum Security Prison have taken the toll on him and and it's leading  now to him not being able to uh fully participate in his defense which I find very concerning uh and and I think a lot of other people do too a verdict is predicted to be announced in the coming weeks this is regarded as being Julian's last

chance at being rescued from the the Grim fate that he faces in the US legal system where he is almost certain to be tried before an incredibly biased court with deep ties to the intelligence community so where does the Australian government sit on all of this well to be honest they've mostly kept their mouth shut and just abandoned him while it is true that recently the Australian government unanimously passed a motion calling upon the US and the UK to release Julian this really seems to me fa

r too little far too late as a fellow Australian  I have to say that this doesn't exactly make me feel proud or confident in my government  where were they for the past 13 years what will they do when the request is almost certainly denied nothing they aren't going to do a fucking thing cuz you see the Australian government are spineless assholes who will go along with anything and everything the US wants I hold no no faith  that this tradition of utter capitulation will change think of all the

heinous war crimes  we paid for over the past 30 40 years which Assange a journalist and founder of WikiLeaks  made public for the world to rightly know all of these insatiable fucking War Pigs who strike and plunder with impunity how many of them do you see on trial in this manner or at all  how many of them have been persecuted like this no one in the American Media said anything about it really with a few exceptions but no one no one even mentioned that he tried to  murder your husband what d

id you think of that well I think the CIA is a is a rogue  organization that everyone on every level of the US uh politics is is terrified of they  are trained to assassinate they are trained to um to fabricate information and place it in  the media and uh conduct propaganda Warfare and um to overthrow uh you know governments and  so on um and you know not just abroad it seems that there's a credible uh case that that they've  done so domestically too I mean looking at this objectively you think

ing do the best you can because that's what he did for us he fought for us to know the truth and we must fight for him to come home we owe him that if you are in any way in pursuit of the truth which I believe is one of the most important and valuable things we could ever have in our life then you owe it to yourself as well so today was uh a day of legal arguments but really what it was was an indictment of a rogue agency the Central Intelligence Agency which runs it pops up in each of the argum

ents whether it was Julian exposing their torture program and their involvement in illegal killings or their own plots to murder him we have to ask the question are we entering into a phase of continued War because Afghanistan prior to its invasion was the second poorest country on Earth we have two superpowers one United States and the other Europe these two superpowers have been unable to subjugate Afghanistan can they Sate Afghanistan of course they can the goal is not to completely subjugate

Afghanistan the goal is to use Afghanistan to wash money out of the tax bases of the United States out of the tax bases of European countries through Afghanistan and back into the hands of a trans-national security elite - that is the goal I.E the goal is to have an endless war not a successful War very soon within the next few years it will become the normal for there to be a constant war in the west people will reach maturity and adulthood under the understanding that there is always a war an

d at that point war will not be something that is unusual or surprising the Belmar tribunal has come to Sydney almost 4 years into Julian's arbitrary detention arbitrary imprisonment in Belmarsh high security prison in southeast London Julian was arrested on the 11th of April 2019 and every day since then he has been in a Cell in this horrible Place alongside actual criminals and convicts and dangerous individuals you've heard today a lot of detail about what the US is actually accusing him of w

hich is journalism which is doing the right thing which is trying to get states to follow their own rules and actually obey the law Julian's work has been an indictment of how the United States and its allies have conducted themselves our youngest child has now turned four and Julian will have spent 4 years in Belmar prison on the 11th of April 2023 Julian's day-to-day existence is made tolerable through his contact with the outside world a contact that would be impossible if he were extradited

and a contact that even in its minimal form is a Lifeline there is no pretense that what is happening here is a legal process a legitimate process this is a political case this is uh the CIA director the Secretary of State putting pressure on the DOJ to extradite Julian it is not his place but he admits it himself because Australia is the most important Ally to the United States it is more important than Israel in the  Middle East it is more important than the United Kingdom it is the most impor

tant Ally because of China and Australia has the power to bring Julian home the Prime Minister more than anyone holds Julian's Fate In His Hands and so I ask the prime minister Anthony Albanese to take Julian's Fate In His Hands and bring him home to us bring him home to our kids bring him home to me and end his suffering it is time for Julian Assange to come jumps up on you it smells you goes back you have to stay still the children have to stay still and it's quite intimidating a dog search an

d they have to do this just to see their father once a week think about that and why what has Julian done he published the truth about war crimes against a powerful government that is exerting its power to punish him [Applause] [Music] My children grew up without me.
