hat they are searching for at least six people NBC's Ryan Nobles has the latest the search and rescue efforts continue here at the site of the bridge collapse in Baltimore Maryland the Francis Scott Key bridge collapsed after a container ship a thousand foot containers ship collided with the base of the bridge collapsing the bridge in just a matter of seconds and since that moment at 1:30 in the morning rescue crews have been frantically searching uh for a group of construction workers that fell
into the water as the bridge collapsed at this point rescue workers believe that they are searching for six people they did rescue two people from the icy waters one of them sent to the hospital the other uh is okay at this point uh the investigators believe that this was a terrible accident that something went wrong with the container ship and they say that the crew on board the ship actually signaled back to the shore that they were having a problem and that allowed them to stop vehicular tra
ffic over the bridge and they believe believe at this point that there are no cars or vehicles of any kind that actually fell into the water and that meaning that there aren't survivors trapped in cars underneath the river water now this was an extensive search and rescue effort uh it brought in aircraft helicopters airplanes boats dive teams and also sewn our equipment to search for survivors under the water and officials are insistent that they are focused completely on that effort before they
be even begin the talk of rebuilding which will be an extensive process and something very important to this region this bridge saw more than 35,000 Vehicles cross over it on any given day it is a main traffic artery in the Baltimore region it is one this community is now without as they begin the process of mourning the victims and also the slow recovery and rebuilding process

@tylerevertz

This is not a rescue anymore. This is a recovery.

@theaceofspades485

If they haven't found the other people they're gone. either drowned or froze.

@OfficialFloydboy

What are you talking about we saw cars fall in!! Stop trying to make light of what happened :(

@Pubbzie

Yall not finding no survivor in that water

@eskuinkle

If they were able to stop cars from crossing, why did they not warn the construction crews working at the bridge?

@betsycollins601

TALK ABOUT GASLIGHTING! We saw the footage, some cars/vehicles slid into the river, Bro! Smdh. Do NOT tell us no automobiles fell in when we saw it on footage!

@PlotoTheMartian

those people in the cars are dead

@juanfvielma3543

So why were there construction workers on the bridge if it was closed for precaution?? Makes no sense

@jwade1128

I clearly saw cars on the bridge in fact nbc highlighted the car above 😊

@LuckyTown77

That black smoke prior to impact was engines in full reverse. No "loss of power". They were off course and made a false report ?

@iricandescence

If you show the whole video, you can see black smoke billowing out before the ship clearly loses power and drifts out of control into the pylon. Stop acting like there was anything else going on "investigators believe this was a terrible accident" 🙄 OBVIOUSLY

@meltandburn77

I guess they didn't watch the cars fall in like we did, not to mention they said sonar was used and saw cars in the water.

@glock30fotyfive

The path of the ship appeared more parallel to the bridge until it suddenly went full throttle exhaust/smoke blast and rapidly steered directly into the bridge support. Was power on ship turned off intentionally? The plot of the path in the news does not match that of the video view from side opposite of impact.

@theprogrammerrolandmc3039

Evel Knievel couldn't make that jump in his prime

@Wwg1wga48

This was not an accident.. wake up..

@michaelevan9184

Really! No one was on the bridge. There’s a police vehicle with multiple cars behind them that went into the water! WTF

@jamessheridan4306

"...and they BELIEVE that there were no vehicles on the bridge at the time of the collapse..." I pray God 'they' are correct.

@jamillie87

Did they fall 💤 asleep? Pray everyone is safe and or alive nevermind they said they called it early on to get the cars to not enter on the bridge

@Matic5500_gaming

They keep skipping around the people in them cars. 🤦🏾‍♂️
